Oh man, if he was going to work with those guys (who can be said are one of the best animatronics designers on the planet, right next to Disney Imagineering) then i got pretty high hopes for some really awesome footage.
Oh lord, Freddy with those eyes would be spooky as fuck.
I am actually excited about the movie now.
I'm curious how they will control the 'tronics with their joysticks, the outtakes better showcase comparisons to QWOP.

Dunnoh, looks more like he's high as a kite.
This movie might actually have a chance with Monster House's director; that movie was pretty disturbing, while still being kid-friendly. Not sure how I feel about it being live action though, it could end up feeling really cheesy that way.
well hopefully the animatronic aspect is being taken care of, now all we need is just the story/suspense/important characters/the restaurant And we're set!
I'll be disappointed if the first trailer for the movie doesn't just feature clips of it spliced together with Scott doing a phone guh message. In fact, I'd be disappointed if Scott didn't do the phone guy at all in the film.
Yeah nice movie monsters are nothing if the story is complete shit :v:

I can personally see it work if the plot is something like this:
Some guy gets a meagerly paying job that his poor degrees or location of living got him. A while of the movie is about this protagonist getting introduced to his workplace at daytime, but its only later when he is explained his job description as the night watch, via phone. For some time, things go smoothly, but then things happen that shouldn't, like having robotic visitors staring at him by the windows of the office, or through cameras. The guy's told the animatronics might move around at night to prevent servos from locking up, and that his office has limited power because the place is too financially troubled to have power in the building all day. Every few nights go more in depth about the nature of the guy's job and what he should do to "avoid injury and/or discomfort". Whenever he talks about the crazy sounding things to his friends and/or associates on his free time, they don't quite believe him, adding to his problems.
it should be about a man who tries to make Christian themed games for a living and due to their underwhelming sales numbers is forced to take a shit job at a run down fazbears to support his family

it ends with him making a series of surgeon simulator like games about working at a haunted dollar store
I'm hoping the film is rated R, but it's not gonna be because of the massive inexplicable youth following the series has.
Like damn, this is a game where you're hunted serial killer-style by horrible robot monstrosities that plot to kill you by forcing you into a suit that'll crush you to death Iron Maiden style.
Which one are they making into a movie? The first one?

I hope so but we don't know yet
I'd like to see a movie that encompasses them all but there's no way that could possibly work, so if I had to pick I'd rather see it closer to the first game than anything else

I'd much rather they just stick to a simple story based on the first one, the later games have become something of a clusterfuck. I like a fun mystery and all, but it was scarier when it was simple.

Yeah I agree. I think everyone can mostly agree on this. All of the games have great bits about them and there's some cool fan-service going on with them all but the first was the most intriguing and the scariest, and by extension the worthiest time period for the movie
I'd be curious to know if anyone disagrees with that?
Apparently Nightmare Freddy in the fourth game is actually transparent. Go figure.

is that a brain? :v:
Possibly a reference to the frontal lobe thing.

It makes sense, especially after [sp]becoming intimate with the insides of Fredbear[/sp].
Combatting the Nightmares with cuteness.

A style concept for a small thing that I may or may not do.
On the subject of the movie, I'm conflicted. I'd largely prefer that the movie be based more on the first game, since, well, it was the first, and also because (for me) it's the scariest one up until 4. But at the same time, I also sort of want the movie to answer some more questions by maybe showing us the missing children incident and other things that we only have vague tidbits of info about. Only problem is that that probably wouldn't showcase the animatronics as well, not to mention that would take place in approximately the same timeframe as the minigames in 4, leading to the apparent mish-mashed hodgepodge of every single animatronic being present somehow (the original 4, the Toys, and the spring suits).
Would be great if they did the movie in the same way the first saw movie was done where the focus isn't on the actual brutality and violence but rather on the investigation surrounding it.
But it's a movie licensed from a popular, potentially very shortlived franchise so it's likely just going to be 80 minutes of jumpscares.

This is really beautifully written. What a wonderfully concise sentiment :3

the animatronic suits in dinosaurs were already spooky to me.
