I never could take that foxy image seriously because he just looks like a very snazzy jazz musician with shades on.
Foxy's the one design that consistently went downhill as the games went. The others had their ups and downs but nothing ever beat FNAF1 foxy imho

The first designs in general are the best, he keeps trying harder in every game and adding too much detail and it just ruined their simple cartoon look
None of the others had that creepy droopy black sunken in eye look from the original
I love how the 5th night in the 4th game is pretty much a throw back to the first game. Turn on light and if you spot the animatronic you close the door. And I love how Fredbear kinda mimics Freddy,Chica,Bonnie and Foxy's attack pattern from the first game.
Nice Touch Scott.

I honestly thought FNAF 2's Foxy design was easily the scariest.
That fucking snout horrifies me for some reason.
The way it curves and gets thinner near the front, and just how large it is really creeps me out.
And to me, he has the most sunken in looking eyes in the entire series. There's so much space between his eye, and his head, it's really freaky to look at, even in that Thank You picture.
How are the fucking Roblox models more accurate than the Source Filmmaker ones?
[editline]2nd August 2015[/editline]
Not talking about the FNAF1-era ones, which were pretty great. I mean all the crappy lazy reskins and stuff.
Simple: the only people on Roblox who actually make things are VERY good at it. Every other game uses stolen stuff or has no effort put into it.

I remember when Foxy from the second game teaser was released, and everyone was like "Oh my god! Look at those teeth! Oh man this is going to be the scariest game ever!!!"
back when we thought that was the peak of how fucked up these robots could get
back when we thought that was the peak of how fucked up these robots could get
Back when we thought the third one was the last one.
Back when we thought the third one was the last one.
and even that got backlash
Hm, it's also missing the Purple/Shadow Freddy, and Shadow Bonnie(?).
So I made a thing in Garry's Mod after wondering how a zombie apocalypse would be for these four. That, and I wanted a reason for Bonnie to be holding that office chair in fear because I think it's funny.
It would be nice to have some high quality models instead of ugly reskins, because somehow, no good looking models exist yet for the Withered Animatronics. So I'm just going to stick to these, and the toy ones until something good and not butt ugly comes up. If I had a proper modelling program, then maybe I could do this shit myself with some practice.

I remember when the "Exactly One Place to Hide Teaser" was released, I nearly shit myself because I thought the game would be freeroam.
Of course, not walking freely, but something along the lines of Myst.
I just saw Foxy at the end of the hall, and I expected it to be part of a jumpscare where you were standing in a room, and he comes barreling down the hall at you at full speed.

There's just something about the first game that really stands out compared to its successors. The visual style doesn't seem as cluttered or intentionally detailed as later ones, it really gives the vibe of an old SEGA CD game minus the sucky quality, and there's just something unnerving about the ambient sounds, the noises, the raspy breathing when an Animatronic is in the room with you while your monitor is up. Probably because there was no 'last second saves' with masks or sounds, just the doors, lights and monitor, and if they got in, that was that.
Not to mention shit like when you're watching them on the camera and their heads just twitch rapidly between looking forwards and staring back at you with wide eyes, or knowing Freddy is going around the pizzeria by his laughter and the only way you can find him is vague shadowing and bright white pinprick eyes hiding in the bathroom. He's not Springtrap levels of hiding (combined with the overkill of static), but it's extraordinarily eerie because you can tell he knows you're watching him. As well as other details like the changing posters, the rule lists turning into vague background lore that really set the series' lore binges off, and other numerous details.
Ever since the 2nd game, it's felt more and more like Scott was detailing the animatronics and the direct story themselves (especially the minigames), and actually putting less effort into the overall detail and design of everything else.
I don't think anything will ever top the feeling we got from seeing THIS for the first time.

"Hey, have you ever seen Foxy the Pirate? .. oh yeah, Foxy.. oh wait, Foxy."
FNAF4's probably the only game since 1 to fuck with your expectations by dropping in more surprises and things to deal with as you progress. Foxy and Freddy were such vicious bastards to deal with, I tell you.
Why do people still use the wrongly colored Bonnie?

This is the shit nightmares are made of. A broken robot staring at you. I can't place why it's creepy beyond that but none of the other things gets me like this one does.
"Wait, what the hell is that opening up the curtain?"
"Okay, so Pirate's Cove, let's check back an- wait, where'd he goOH SHIT FOXY NO"

Pretty much a guaranteed "THE FUCK IS THAT?!" reaction from first timers, especially from me.
From what I've noticed, nothing is as traumatizing as when Freddy gets into your office for the first time... with the power on. You then try to figure out how to stop him after you shake off the scare and realize he's a big threat.
Gotta be honest I was really fucking creeped out when I saw Nightmare for
The first time in the FNAF4.
He's Jumpscare reminds a lot of that dog smile.exe picture Brrrrrr.
i love how foxy's left eyelid is lower then his right, makes him more threatening for some reason
Well one of them is just the eyepatch flipped up, right?
It was a genius move from Scott to not show Foxy anywhere in promo art and trailers for the first game, back before it was even on steam.
I also remember that this tactic set a precedent for the series since past that point everyone expected each game to have that animatronic that wasn't shown anywhere else. FNAF 2 sort of did it with balloon kid.

For me it's the eyes glowing in the darkness that always scare the hell out of me. FNAF2 Bonnie with the glowing red eyes is nightmare fuel.
Foxy is still the scariest animatronic to me.

my buddy always told me to watch out for foxy he's a great back safety, gotta watch his QB blitz.
Ever since then foxy's been football reference out the door.

I think it's creepy because to me, it's like Foxy is watching you. I place the emphasis on this, because while you would catch the other animtronics looking at the camera, it always felt a bit random where they were headed or what they were doing (What the fuck is Chica doing in the kitchen?!).
Foxy, on the other hand is just watching, waiting for you to slip up. He's the only one that you can witness sprinting towards your location. Foxy's relationship (in terms of gameplay) with the player is much more intimate and all the more scary. The only thing Foxy wants to do is get into the security room and fuck you up; and the mechanics play wonderfully into this since watching him too often aggravates him and forgetting to check on him is just as dangerous.
In short, nothing is more unnerving then switching to Pirate's cove and seeing that familiar face staring right back at you...except when you see there's just an empty stage.
EDIT:
I dunno, seeing him outside the stage with his head tilted over like he's wondering if he left the oven on is pretty hilarious, even if it means he's about to gun it for your ass.
Yeah, that one pose is a little silly; but when you realize that it means he's almost ready to book it, it's a bit alarming.
