my question is: does scott think we're fuckin stupid or something? i mean it's one thing to be like "the secret's out there" but to blindly ignore the fact that people have literally cracked these games and stripped it down to it's textures and algorithms, do you think you could really hide something like that
even if it linked to something like a web page or download, we would've had the link by now if he tried to be clever on any sort of basis like that. it's just insulting to everyone's intelligence to say "ugh god maybe i shouldn't do this because you're too dumb to figure it out anyways
what the fuck how about you just fucking come out with it
literally everything has been more or less fine up until this fuckin detail right here. i've been content with it all. i've been onboard. what the fuck is this shit
Hey guys, I decided to try developing my own FNAF-style game and I want to know what you guys think. I wanted to distance myself a bit from the typical setup that FNAF and its copycats stick with and decided to opt for a much different setting that taps into another popular phobia; "Thalassaphobia", which is the dear of the deep ocean. I was mostly inspired to go in this direction after seeing the Thalassaphobia entry on Know Your Meme. The concept is also heavily inspired by movies like "The Abyss" and "Sphere".
-snip, we've seen the pics enough times-
The game will take place in an underwater research habitat called the Cascade II, located at the edge of an unexplored deep-sea trench. Due to a storm happening on the surface, the player is isolated and alone in the habitat. The storm has cased an electrical problem that has rendered Sonar useless, so the player will have to rely on Hydrophones placed around the habitat to detect any threats.
I've been working on modeling the Cascade II Habitat itself in Maya, here's what I've got so far.
-image snip-
The player will sit in the large Observation module and will monitor the hydrophones to check if there's anything dwelling nearby. Each attacker has a distinct sound and movement pattern before they reach the habitat. The method of which the player defends them self with depends on the creature in question. The Cascade II is outfitted with bright flood lights and electrical defenses that shock anything in the nearby water. Some creatures may shy away from the lights, others will be aggravated by it. The electrical defenses only work if the monsters are right up close to the habitat and will typically drive away most threats, though one of them might actually be attracted to it if you use it too often...
The player has 3 resources to manage:
Electricity is required to check the hydrophones and to use the floodlights/electrical defenses. Your generator uses the ocean's current to power it, so it recharges over time. Using it all up will force you to wait for it to restart.
Oxygen is limited. The lab is equipped with a small algae farm on top of it that produces oxygen when exposed to sunlight and the CO2 from the lab's inhabitants. Since the game takes place at night, however, Oxygen will slowly tick down over time. If the habitat is attacked and damaged, it will start dropping faster.
Hull Integrity will drop if the habitat is attacked. Too many attacks and the hull will buckle and implode. The player character repairs the hull during the day, so this will reset each night.
Also the Ningen, the creepy humanoid-whale creature from the pictures above, will be one of the enemies.
Thoughts, guys?
Omg. It's like my worst fears coming to life. As much as I have extreme thalassaphobia, I would play this. Amazing work!

Jeez, IsisMasshiro? I haven't heard much from that artist since Left 4 Dead 2 got released 6 years ago. Neat seeing them still doing stuff.

I hate to say it but I feel like grasping at straws is the best we can do right now.
Knowing Scott, Halloween will come around and we'll be able to open the box and he'll just post 'lol fooled ya' on his website.

I was seriously just about to post that what the hell

A lot of people thought of the same thing when they found the box.

I was thinking this
For me, it looks more like Scott had the "key" for the box, but he decided not to give it to the eager community.

Just saw this in my feed.
Very well made.

Damn, this thumbnail gives much away.

This is my only issue with it.
I'd be fine if he never teased it, or intended on giving us the answers, but he had the key, was ready to give us a genuinely satisfying ending to the series, but went "Woopsie, try again next time guise!! ;)", and now he's just gonna hold onto it.
Not to mention the update in general sounds disappointing and underwhelming as hell.
He stated it wouldn't add on to FNAF 4, but he turned around and now all we get is literally a fucking remix of Fun With Plushtrap.

...Aaand they're sold out again.
...Aaand they're sold out again.
Why the hell can't they just mass produce these?
They already do it with plushes for other games, if I'm not mistaken.
It's bullshit.
I say have a little faith in Scott, I think he knows what he is doing. He is most likely going to surprise the community in some way or another. Don't forget that he has played us all for fools before with news announcements, he can be a troll sometimes.

Maybe... maybe the message he sent is a hint about what we're missing? But we didn't realize it yet?

Well... he did say we were missing something. The only recent find I can think of is that someone noticed that the last line in the final scene of FNAF4 is in a different color than the rest.

Can you tell us what the secret is? I don't feel like watching this guy.

It's not a secret...it's speculation over who the white text belongs to and someone on Reddit said it was the Puppet.
[sp]There's blood in the box![/sp]
[sp]There's blood in the box![/sp]
What, where?
It's not a secret...it's speculation over who the white text belongs to and someone on Reddit said it was the Puppet.
It's a bit more than that. The white text throughout the game is used by the child, but the last line in the game, I think "I can put you back together" is not white or gold, but instead is a cream color similar to the puppet. The color is not used anywhere else in the text files. The guy in the video says this makes since because in FNAF 2 the puppet was the one who "gave life".
My guess is that there is a code of some sort involved with the changing numbers of the digital clock, or the changing patterns of colored lights at the end of night five.
someone make a parody of jerma's dorkcube with the fnaf box
A quick little thing on "Thalassaphobia"
The sea lab in our game takes heavy inspiration from the real life "Aquarius" lab off the coast of Florida. Our habitat will be a bit smaller and more claustrophobic. This should give you an idea of what the interior may end up looking like. Also, the fact that the real underwater labs have trouble with their budget will also tie heavily into our game's story. Also, we're considering making the game last a whole week instead of just 5 nights.
