Perhaps you have to defeat certain characters before they join your party?
Seems the game's going to vary between the two styles for some sort of meta approach to everything, although whether it's just for aesthetic or plot purposes is up in the air in before it's a haunted video game

ITS A FUCKING NOVEL HOLY SHIT
ITS A FUCKING NOVEL HOLY SHIT
ugh.....
ITS A FUCKING NOVEL HOLY SHIT
so is it a pop-up book???
Now it's starting to feel like milking. Only thing I'm interested in is how the RPG will look and the movie, and if both are meh, then I think I'm done with FNAF.
I mean, if it's a novel I honestly don't mind. Because it's finally telling the goddamn story.
ITS A FUCKING NOVEL HOLY SHIT
Oh it's a book? I thought it was literally essentially FNAF5.
Thought I'd share this because I didn't know they existed: Been hearing about people finding them in hot topic.
Hey those don't look bad at all, I would buy them. On the topic of the game, didn't know indiedb had pics, they looks good enough, better than I expected. It seems it will be a serious rpg.
You can tell a game's story line is shit when there's more theorists / explanation videos then there are sequels
You can tell a game's story line is shit when there's more theorists / explanation videos then there are sequels
Erm. Doesen't that apply to a whole load of stuff. Dark Souls for example would like to have a word with you.
I can see Untold Story doing particularly well if it were a guide / making of book that's more in-depth about the story / other games development cycles and was decently priced as such. Maybe a first-person narrative that fills in the gaps that the "chapters" left, along the way giving us more accounts of fucked up shit that has happened at Freddy's? Either way people are just going to eat that shit up.

Yeah it's purple guy incarnate, but having him wreck stuff because that's his thing felt woefully underdeveloped and rather dismantled the intimidation of springtrap, which sucks because i think designwise he's the creepiest of them all. Maybe more was intended to be shown about purple guy but was scrapped for the soul redemption story, i don't know, it really felt like purple guy's game without anything about him in it also while i'm bitching about niggles, what the hell happens at 6am that makes everything hunky dory, especially in 1 where the power's out and freddy's standing outside your door doing his stock music wind up. Does the day staff just show up and all the animatronics go "Aw shucks. Guess we try again tomorrow boys!" and piss off back to their stages?
I mean, if it's a novel I honestly don't mind. Because it's finally telling the goddamn story.
Hopefully it wraps up the goddamn story. Honestly I was hoping the third/fourth game would resolve a lot of things but we got more questions than answers. If this novel doesn't wrap things up I'm going to give up on a lot of questions being answered. :v:
Im probably going to get the book because Im a sucker for all things fn@f
Not bad.
well, that holds up pretty well unfortunately.
Not bad.
that is... fucking incredible, actually holy shit
Yeah the dream theory kinda sucks, it's like a lazy explanation but according to the clues , it's more elaborated than that. And the clock clue, it's really interesting.
Wow/ I makes so much sense. That's amazing.

It's lame but it's all I can think of. As for the bots shutting down at 6, wasn't it explained somewhere that 6 am was considered "open" time for the animatronics so they'd... Huh. Now that I think about it more, it is weird they stop trying to stuff you in the suit at 6 am, because, in the first game at least, you're still considered an endoskeleton out of its suit in an unauthorized area.. In theory, isn't the back room a safe place for the normal endoskeletons? Couldn't the first guard/phone guy have just sat in the back room, safe from any attacks the whole night in the first game?

But I honestly have no idea anymore, with FNAF 4 and this disappointingly-convincing dream theory throwing everything I thought I knew out the window. :(
Not bad.
The claim that the Foxy is out of order in FNaF1 because it's missing it's head. This is nonsense. Toy Chica's missing beak is reflected in FNaF2. But Foxy's missing head is not reflected in FNaF1. Then there's the claim Mangle is a plushy when she has metallic parts and is actually slightly larger than the crying child. (Stolen from Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/3wr1u8/dream_theory_still_not_proven_ie_matpat_proved_a/ ) According to this point, our FNaF4 kid experiences FNaF1, 2 and 3 before he gets bitten. He hears Grandfather clock, he sleeps in his bedroom, he wasn't bitten yet. So - firstly: It's impossible due to remaining time to bite. According to dream theory, he dreams FNaF1, 2 and 3 because of what he heard and saw 2 DAYS BEFORE THE BITE. Three games = 20 days, 20 grandfather clock bell tolls. He had 2 days, but he needed 10 times more of them. EVEN if we consider each game taking place in his one single dream - there are only two nights before the Bite, not three. Even then - it's not enough. But secondly, more importantly - Phone Guy during FNaF1 tells us about The Bite of '87. I wonder - how could kid imagine someone saying "The Bite of '87", if there wasn't any bite yet? How could he predict his future, how could he know, the bite will happen? (Again, Stolen from Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/3wpbzo/just_realised_how_matpats_grandfather_clock_aka/ ) Also I would like to add onto that last bit, Grandfather clocks rings every hour, sometimes every half, so why don't we hear it throughout the night?
Mat's going to cover more next week. I'll see that before I look into the contradictions.
Anybody else seen this yet? Rooster Teeth did an "Immersion" episode based on FNAF. The Behind-the-Scenes is also pretty awesome:
According to Cawthon, FNaF: The Untold Story will be released no later than 22 of December (it's apparently already finished). "It expands the mythos and reveals a human element never before seen in the games". The book will be for Amazon Kindle first (but you can use the Kindle app for iPhone/Android/PC to read it). It will also be in stores in hardback for 2016. Scott was working on it for 10 months (this means he started it either during or after creating FNaF 3), together with a "professional writer". Perhaps, their union works like "the blind man carries the lame man, who in turn shows him the road". That professional is the "blind": he doesn't know FNaF but he is good at literature, while Cawthon is the "lame": he knows FNaF but isn't known for writing.
I can not STAND that guy with his theory channels, his smug voice, and everything else about him, but that one does have some good points to it. Doesn't bring up why there's two separate BBs though, or the hallucinations you see in fnaf3. I also can't stand anyone who pronounces the game acronym as a word. It just sounds stupid.

Always loved how they nailed the "fucking terrifying but could totally see them in a cheap childrens entertainment place" look
