Damnit, I like Scott. Probably one of the cooler headed indie devs I've seen. Glad to see he's taking all of this well, and I wish him the best in future endeavors.
Yeah for all of the stranger ideas and decisions he's made, Scott really has been incredibly humble about EVERYTHING from the very beginning.
Also along with MatPat's "Detail" video he released a timeline at the beginning of this stream:

And that one time he put cheats and stupid things in the iOS version he rescinded the changes a day later due to backlash, so more than likely he's basically been stumbling through all this as a gigantic and massive learning experience as just one guy creating a bunch of horror games that went viral on the net over the course of a single year.
It's a shame even though Scott does try being nice, people will use his words as excuses for him saying he's the worst person blah blah "MILK FUCK U GO DIE YOU SHIT DEV"
Funnily enough, most of the flak comes from Undertale fans. Undertale's already gonna end up just as bad.

Which is sad, because I'm sure Scott and Toby Fox would be friendly to one another. Sucks how terrible fanbases can be.

Yeah. The bad side of UT comes from Homestuck if I'm honest. Because elitists and all that awful junk.
It'd be funny if the two constantly talked about how many death threats they got in a week

To be fair, all fandoms are awful. An entire fandom can easily be ruin by some "spoiled eggs". It's a damn shame.

if there's one thing i learned, it's that people ruin everything
One problem with Matpat's final timeline that's a pretty big stick in there is that, well, he concludes that as a result of the missing children incident plus the bite of '83 the puppet, golden freddy, freddy, bonnie, foxy, and chica were all active. That's 6. The missing children incident had 5 victims, and that doesn't include the bite of 83. I went through and it seems like there's about 12 dead kids in the series to 11 animatronics. Which makes you wonder just where the fuck this extra soul is hanging out?
Also, it seems like there's an air that the franchise is coming to a close soon. It seems like after FNAF World and the movie, we're done, and that's fine, but the thing that gets me is that we're leaving behind one last thing. I swear, since I found out about this trunk recently, it's been driving me nuts. What is in the god damn box and how does one open it?
It seems like it should be possible. Unless Scott comes out and says Matpat or someone else finally got it right, there is still his statement that the pieces are all there. The story has not been accurately guessed as of August 24th, and according to Scott, the pieces are still hidden. What that tells me is that somewhere, somehow, in that game, you can open the box. The pieces are there and waiting for someone to somehow find them. There is something in FNAF 4 that opens that box, maybe it's a code, maybe it's something you have to do, maybe it's something you have to click or say, and it's the most cryptic thing he's ever done. In one of the Batman games there was an easter egg hidden behind a random wall, that nobody was able to find. Nobody ever guessed it was there, and so the developers just straight up told people what it was. Scott appears to be going the other route, where he's surprised nobody's found it and has decided that he's just going to let it rest forever. I think if it ever gets hinted at it will be the last thing the FNAF fandom ever sees of official FNAF content. I almost suspect there to be clues hidden in the book and the film, I wouldn't be surprised. But the fact that he says the pieces are there makes me think that there's something that's just waiting for people to find it. I hope the community doesn't give up on trying to open the box.
Hacking FNAF 4 reveals there's nothing inside the little box, only some kind of "deep9" event for the ambient sound. It has no connection to Night 9.

You're 3-4 months late.
You're 3-4 months late.
I think he was bringing this up to Sandman, who believes there might be something ingame we need to activate in order to open it. Unfortunately, as Matpat has suggested, the box is probably just a metaphor for wanting to know more but being unable to find out.
I just choose to ignore 4 because the story we had at the end of 3 was nicely wrapped up. 4 just complicated things for the sake of complicating them, and the answers we got were for questions we didn't need answered.
Obviously not everyone feels this, but that's how I'm moving forward with this

Aw, damn. I knew about the Deep9 thing but I misinterpreted that as meaning there's a sound that plays when the box is opened, meaning there is something in the game for when the box is opened and so it's probably openable.
Well, I still think there's gotta be something hidden in the game or something people aren't putting together, judging from Scott's words.
Now, why is the book called "The Silver Eyes"?

Must be something about the tronics' eyes glowing.

that looks like dogshit imo
What happened between Desolate Hope and now?
He should've stuck to character design, and let someone else handle the actual game. I can't imagine this is going to be much better than his previous RPGs...
that looks like dogshit imo
the digitized 3d models remind me a lot of super mario rpg, its a shame everything's so cluttered and the ui looks so uninspired.
those screenies really look like one of those fake game ads that are purely made to scam gullible people.
FNAF World seems so bizarre, out of place, and to be honest, kinda lazily made, that I genuinely expect the game to have some sort of false advertising shit going on and it's actually a horror game beneath the surface.
Yo this is just hitting me now, but if some place like Universal put money into throwing together a "FNAF experience" where you actually got to work the office they would make mad bank off of it
Like you walk in during what's obviously the daytime, get greeted and told what your job is, led to the back, strapped in, and then the person leaves, the lights go out, and it becomes clear that there's no escape.

with the hidden images of the mangle hanging itself and balloon boy being balloon boy, that seems to be the case.
and even then, something tells me cawthon wants to walk back into the small time after all the chaos FNAF causes
i think he needs to make something completely separate rather than making something like one of his old games but with a fnaf paint job
but thats just me
