The trick in Payday (and every other driving game, honestly), is to not floor it. They say that slow and steady wins the race, and it's true. I am always the first one to the dock because I'm the only one who doesn't floor it.
So I'm a tad curious, Me and some friends were goofing around on Hotline Miami, and managed to accidentally kill Captain Winters, like legit dead with a corpse on the ground, and ever since then whenever either of us host a lobby we'll still hear radio chatter about him spawning but he never spawns anymore.
Is this a purposefully coded thing? because i know he's a "unique" character and not supposed to die, but it seems almost too legit that we killed him and he hasn't spawned since then.
Hey guys, I made a payday video. Demonstrating the dangers of mods.

My money is on it being a bug. We accidentally killed him after one of us tased him.
I was recording footage for a music mod I made, I didn't get any audio but I did get this small clip.
I think it highlights the main problem with the enemy.

I've said this multiple times already throughout the game's lifetime and I will say it again;
Snipers are fucking bullshit.
What's so hard about making the sniper NOT quickscope you while moving? If anything, it actually discourages people to watch out for sniper spots in fear of getting quickscoped like in this video. Overkill balance is fucking trash sometimes.

Seems unnecessary to rely on the hosting server for giving information, you could just poll steam. Maybe delay it a bit, like once every 5 or 10 seconds, but it means direct connection.
Hell, that should be easy to whip up. At least if you don't style it at all.
I wanna point out that there's currently a thread on the subreddit about a GoFundMe to just buy Pete Gold the 50k followers.

There's really no reason for it to be that granular. It could probably be good at half hour-hour intervals
Sniper snapshots are the only reason why I haven't played a single fucking game without the Muscle perk deck.
Also can someone please hook me up with a black Speculator Sight or Compact Holosight mod? I've been looking around and I can't find shit, or if I do it's some protomodding shit with .pdmod files. Tried to extract the texture files from that, but the jackass who made them locked it behind a password.

Every .pdmod file uses the same password: 0$45'5))66S2ixF51a<6}L2UK
But if you install the .pdmod with the new bundle tool it should automatically convert it to mod_override format and you won't need to use the .pdmod for future updates.

Oh, thought it was like some ancient technology that would rely on hoodoo voodoo magic to actually alter the textures. Thanks pal
So I was practicing my stealth skills on Shadow Raid DW, after a few restarts I started to get the hang of it (just shoot the Murky Water patrolmen with flashlights on their chests *only*, etc etc), I was starting to feel pretty comfortable (got 6-7 loot bags on my own), and I also got the 2 keycards for the vault... except the damn 10-second delay fucked me over and I couldn't get it to open.
I didn't know that it's damn near impossible me to a) be lucky enough to shoot the guards carrying the keycards, b) shoot them closer to the vault and c) not be seen in the process.
FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU :'/
[editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
So far the guard in the security camera room is almost guaranteed to drop the keycard, but not sure about the other guards... and making a run for it could be a PITA, if he's on the upper floor and stuff.
Any tips? :/
If there are this many people to crash these things, I'm now getting really confused as to how the twitter part wasn't done instantly, it takes like two fucking seconds to make an account.
There is civilian that wears orange that also has a keycard, you can find him walking around the place. Also, Try to save the pagers and only kill in emergencies (Camera guard, guard that can be close to the boat if you bought it, etc)
The guard in the camera room will always have a keycard, and the civilian with the yellow hat and the orange jumper will always have a keycard. The civilian will eventually path somewhere near the vault so just be patient. You can go quite a distance, I've had keycards drop past the kitchen area and still do it in time. If you shoot the camera man in the head from the rear door (the one farthest from the cages), he will fall backwards out of sight, meaning you don't need to bag him. Always go for the cameraman.
You can move freely along the entire rear of the compound no matter where the rear guard spawns if you hug the edge. I use thermite on the gate to the river and the one closest to the van, and use the river tug dropoff point and move most of the bags out that way via the sewers. Bags from the roof can be safely thrown into the dumpster by the rear shed if cameras are down.
If the two doors to the balcony aren't open, guards will eventually try to path to it and get frozen in place. If guards freeze in a convenient spot and you neutralize the civilians you can have the entire inside warehouse to yourself.
If you stand here at about 5 minutes in, before the helicopter arrives, it will always give you an artifact spawn.

Otherwise, you just need to practice.

Don't kill unless you get seen (whoops didnt see the new posts above)
it's the yellow hat civi who has the card but he rarely paths inside where it's safe and there are no places that are safe from murky pathing.
it's usually not worth trying to go for the armour solo since once the safe opens, guards will get alerted instantly.
clean out the 2nd floor first, if you go up the ladder and jump onto the roof, then drop down to the balcony, you can usually go through to the camera room without trouble. then you can throw bags from the balcony down into the dumpster area. if you buy the dumpster at the beginning, you can dump bags in there easily.
once the 2nd floor is clear, if you get soldiers (and don't force it), they usually stick to the 2nd floor which leaves the warehouse clear. if you take thermite and go in through the dock sewers, usually you only have to kill 2 pagers.
Thanks a lot guys! I shall try it later on and see how it goes :D

I would have never thought that one of the civvies carried one of the keycards too!
[editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
Also, should I intercept the helicopter's cargo (if possible)? I always hear it coming, but I've never seen it unloading its cargo...
chrome extension for keeping up w/ crimefest goals, works this time i promise

As of 04:20 BST, 30/09/15, the challenge percentages for the Road to Crimefest are thus:
Kill one million people with a whiskey bottle: 697,797
Complete Meltdown one hundred thousand times: 32,472
Get @petegold_'s twitter follower count to fifty thousand: 12,710
Kill two million cloakers: 912,897
Seeing as there's proper chrome addons and stuff for this now, I'll probably stop doing this so irregularly.

The helicopter drops the container, already open, in the front yard, on the side of where you spawn. There's a door leading there right next to the cages on the lower floor, near the staircase. That way is always safe, but there may be guards outside, past the door. The container isn't too far away.
Do not go around the container to get the crate opened (since it's closer to the other side of the container and there's an obstacle inside the container preventing from just walking from one side to the other). Enter the container, from the side where you came from (dock-side), stand on the wood obstacle in the middle when there's no one around, open the crate while still crouching on the obstacle, and pick up the artifact from there. Then you only need to get down the obstacle and go out of the container the same way, dock-side. You only have a short way to walk in the open, but don't let your guard down. If you had taken the artifact from the other side of the container, you would have had a much longer and exposed way to walk back to the warehouse.
I always grab the artifact from the sewer there. Even if the gates are still up you can then go around and pick it up through the sealed gate. It's worth a million dollars in Deathwish so your call.
I think a host just tried to grief his own lobby.
Saw some guy sitting by himself in a Shadow Raid lobby on Overkill, joined, he did the preplanning normally and everything, we were both kitted up with stealth gear. Then we started and he just stood in the middle of the yard shooting everyone he could see, not even bothering with pagers, then once a camera saw one of the corpses he threw a grenade to set off the entire map at once.
I'm so confused right now.
Maybe he wanted to do it in loud :)))))

if his level is below 100 or XXV-100 then dont be surprised.
Okay, I'm just making sure I'm not crazy. A) This metal detector has suddenly appeared in the safehouse:

And B) there are more cameras now than there used to be. I don't remember there being one inside the shooting range for instance. Am I nuts or has the safe house changed?
