I hope the ports don't lose the personality and flavour of the original heists, ie everyone is mute and they emphasise tedious bag throwing. Hopefully the VAs are recording lines such as "Damn it, the codes don't work! Bain!?"

What's wrong with a little hype? The game gets so little content these months, it's difficult to not get super excited for 8+ heists.
And of course they're not going to be simple ports, Overkill knows that old heists weren't perfect and had many flaws (the entirety of heat street or panic room rooftop, for example), plus they're going to spice them up with PD2's mechanics, like stealth on FWB.
As for leaks, open the previous thread and start reading from page 122.

It's the original party music before the lyrics though, it's hilariously simple, yet catchy. And it doesn't have to be "bad" to be in the bad music asset, that's part of the joke.

Happy because, my favorite heists (diamond, undercover counterfeit) are coming back to my 2nd most played steam game (payday 2)
Sad because, payday the heist will lose its popularity so high, the game will lose it reputation and will have no other reason to play or buy anymore, except for
No mercy, hate to see a game go to waste after just 4 years.

if you ignore the god awful interviewers (*in-depth explanation of the origins of the web series and derek's own involvement with payday* "cool") and the obnoxious music blaring every time they get a new follower, you'll notice that derek's a really cool guy who actually cares about the game
when he checked in on the game before recording the new lines and noticed hoxton's banter he actually looked up some potential responses himself

I wouldn't say it's "gone to waste". It's an old game, people had their fun with it. It also plays differently enough from PD2 that it could be fun to go back to every once in a while.

most pdth player are either player that got it when it was popular or got it for free with crimefest
and last time I checked there was around 300 players worldwide,including private lobbies and the shitload of cheaters so the game is already pretty much dead. Except if you play it with friends for fun.

its still not quite dead, sometimes i see 1000 online and sometimes 100 to 400
but my friend still plays it to this day, he maxed everything and has 500+ hrs, he likes to play with pubs too, he owns pd2 too but he says its somewhat boring, poor guy, once the PDTH heists come to pd2, PD1 will become so dead, nobody will play with him, pubs will die, and he will be forced to play the DLC-filled game that is payday 2.
Dunno, I probably will still play it for the gameplay, it's simpler and more enjoyable than PD2 in some aspects.

when it comes to gameplay, payday 2 simply wins, i mean you can throw grenades and stuff and have special weapons unlike PD1 with only 13 weapons that get boring eventually,
but when it comes to heists, PD1 wins with no doubt.

Personally I've gotten used to them, not like Overkill will ever say "hey we have some cool stuff in the works" any more after promising so much and delivering it a fucking year (or in the case of safehouse customisation 2 years) late.

i think they refer to the pd2 leaks ingame files which shows a heist involving stealing goats and escaping with goats, for some reason people think its a reference to goat simulator, and for some reason if this heist was real then i suppose its coming april 1st 2016 to celebrate goat simulator 1st anniversary year.

The reason is because the heist is internally known as PET, and the leaked strings indicate that pet is Goat Simulator. It's like how Diamond Heist = Ice or Green Bridge = Glace.

Alpha is kinda the same game, pretty much all of the base gameplay was 100% implemented. The only differences were a large change in the shader base, and some massive GUI changes, [url=http://steamcommunity.com/groups/restorationmod]but the GUI stuff has already been restored.[/url]
