Damn, that sucks.
I guess I'll keep using and modding my AK rifle and maybe check out the AUG. Any other good ARs to use?
Optimal assault rifles (42 damage, 18 accuracy, high stability all at once plus high ammo):
Commando 553
Clarion
CAR-4
AK
Lion's Roar
Gecko 7.62
UAR
Good assault rifles (high stats, but not high enough to be optimal):
JP36
Valkyria
AK5
You can make the Queen's Wrath and the 90 total ammo or less assault rifles work as well, but it's not as easy as grabbing one of those listed.
Anyone have any heists they'd consider underrated? I really love the adjustments to the standalone train heist, it actually makes it enjoyable to play loud, but hardly anyone plays it. :frown:
Framing Frame isn't nearly as bad as it was once before. When they changed preplanning to be like Big Bank, and you could add spy cameras, it became a much, much more tolerable heist. If they fix the camera seeing into the vault room it will be a very good stealth heist. It's also fun loud.
i hope the jp36 gets buffed or given an attachment that pushes it to +40 damage, its one of my favourite guns
Alesso, believe it or not, is actually a decent loud heist if you can get past the blatant product placement and nonsensical objectives, it grows on you, and with a good team, you can easily complete it under twenty minutes. That's really the only underrated heist I can think of, because basically everything else seems to be praised, or it's average.
Actually, you know what, Go Bank is also another underrated one. It has too much fucking RNG regardless how you do it, but it can be pretty fun with a good team loud.
I never actually had a problem with product placement in Payday. I think that despite the logical inconsistencies (Why are we trying not to alert the crowd?), it's a really fun. Fighting off swarms of cops while directing a pyrotechnics show was really exciting.
I don't think product placement is always a bad thing, even in movies. It can even add to the story in some cases and make a world feel more real. Makes more sense for a concert heist to have a real artist than generic made up EDM guy.
Has anyone made a chart showing breakpoints for special units? It always irritated me that the one we have only shows normals.

40+ damage, 16-18 accuracy, and 180 ammo in reserve with best in class pickup would be OP. I don't think that's a thing we need.
40+ damage, 16-18 accuracy, and 180 ammo in reserve with best in class pickup would be OP. I don't think that's a thing we need.
theoretically maybe, though a lot of things in the game atm are OP especially within the assault rifle class so i'm not too sure if it would make a huge impact

More variety never hurts, dude. And why are you complaining about balance in this game of all things? Besides, it wouldn't hurt to have another free weapon for those dudes out there that can't buy $120 dollars worth of DLC.

JP36 is so fun to use though. It really deserves to get some love.
By the way, its animation is still broken. :v:

So I was screwing around with what weapons can have what mods, and I think I made a monstrosity

Honestly, yeah. The power creep is somewhat worrying to me.
Specially Counterfeit, where you can legit see a SWAT van punch through the wall of the Wilson house, starting from when it drives up to the house right up until it pulls over and floors it towards the windows.
Somehow I doubt that Overkill will add that into the ported heists on Payday 2. Their maps have gotten a lot less climactic and cinematic

Who else wants to bet that a SWAT van turret (instead of a normal van) will crash into Wilson house in counterfeit PD2 like usually in PDTH? :v:

Armor does slow you down a lot, but you can mitigate it somewhat by taking Sprinter Aced and Shinobi Basic from the Ghost skill tree, and Run & Gun from the Fugitive skill tree. Gives you enough extra speed to at least move at a decent enough pace in even the ICTV while sprinting. Also a good idea to at least get basic Endurance from the Mastermind skill tree, to give you more stamina for sprinting.
OK so I respecced and got all of those. Time to run faster :v'
So.. did the rogue nerfs effect the dodge numbers at all?

Considering a lot of people probably use Killmer basic for the reload speed increase, barely anyone notices that
It's fine for me because of that
Where's The Van?
I'm saying there might be no van at all. I'm pretty sure they said they're making these from the ground up, and in true Payday into Payday 2 style, there could easily be no cool mobile setpiece moments.
The most that happens in Payday 2 is cops planting C4 on walls to make alternate entrances, and that might be the thing that happens instead of a van punching through the wall.

Bus Escape, The Big Bank
Not sure if anyone else cares, but I just got really sick of how PD2's ammo counters work completely differently from those in literally every other FPS out there (except PDTH), so I went into my HUD's code and fixed them to display current magazine and reserve ammo, rather than current magazine and total ammo.
If anyone wants me to try and make this work with the default HUD or other HUD mods let me know and I'll give it a shot.
Bus Escape, The Big Bank
That's different. That's a thing popping up through a wall and scattering a bunch of bricks after you touch a telephone, you don't exactly see anything compared to PD:TH's little act:
1: Van drives up
2: Bain says "They're gonna make an alternate entrance in the Wilson's house."
3: Van rears back
4: Van floors it to the house
5: Van punches through a fucking wall and sends everything flying
6: Bain goes like "Woah dude they went straight through the wall!!"
7: Van moves back again
8: The back doors of the SWAT van open and 4 SWATs pop out and breach into the house.
This isn't the only "SWAT van punching through things" act too. It's also noteworthy that this happens on it's own as the assault waves escalate. It's fucking rad and it spices up the gameplay, similar to how Meltdown has moving vans that block different paths for each different run. While Bus Stop is nice and I do love how Overkill seems to be stepping the quality up in small increments, it's a very long way from the sheer quality that PD:TH's heists oozed.
Framing Frame DW is fucking terrible. Screw it, Framing Frame is the worst heist in this whole game. Shit stealth heist and shit loud heist. If there's anything that makes my blood boil is Framing Frame DW Pro Job. Rather get the thermal drill than play that shit.
Haven't touched new dlcs since Meltdown update.
What's everyones opinion on Valkyria, Lebensauger and Matever?

Valkyria's good, near-40 damage, 16 accuracy, high stability and 160 ammo. Biggest downside to it is the limited magazine size.
Lebensauger best in class low-damage sniper rifle. It's just plain better than both the Repeater and Rattlesnake.
Matever is like the Bronco but with more damage and accuracy and the ability to use gadgets, but on the downside it takes a fucking age to reload (Bronco: 2.25s normal, 1.5s Gunslinger. Matever: 3.6s normal, 2.4s Gunslinger).

Isn't the Walther straight up better than the R93 too if you get the Cleaner or Spotter perk? The most important thing that differences the MSR and the others from the R93 is that they can't oneshot kill Shields through their visor, something that the WA2K can do if you have atleast one of those perks plus the Theia if you're using Spotter so you don't have to manually point at everything.

Actually yeah, it is.
Just checked the damage thing in Better Stats, on up to Overkill the Lebensauger takes the same number of shots to kill everything as both the R93 and the Nagant. And on Deathwish, the only difference is the R93 and Nagant take 1 less shot to kill Cloakers, Bulldozers and Shields (piercing through the shield).
Basically the Lebensauger is the best sniper rifle in the game right now.

Turf war screenshot "just" got posted
Can we actually get any info on Turf War? Like, any reason to get hyped up?
Because it's hard to be hyped about a custom heist which we know none of the details. I know at least one of its developers posts here, could he tell us exactly how this works?
That moment when a single cloaker dodges bullets from all four of us shooting at it, and he someone takes out all four of us at the same time. We were grouped together tho. How the fuck man. This game is confirmed broken.
Matever is like the Bronco but with more damage and accuracy and the ability to use gadgets, but on the downside it takes a fucking age to reload (Bronco: 2.25s normal, 1.5s Gunslinger. Matever: 3.6s normal, 2.4s Gunslinger).
With the right mods, Matever does the same damage. Is just a side-grade of the Bronco. The Matever can reach 18 of accuracy while the Bronco is short for 4 points. So if you plan to kill from really long distances, like snipers. Go with the Matever.
As you said, the Matever has a longer reloading time which can't be good in the middle of a battle. So the Bronco wins here. Also the Bronco has better concealment.

cloakers can't take down more than 1 person at 1 time, u need to get good

I actually wish MORE games would use this type of ammo system
You can see how much ammo you got much easier than having to count up both numbers
Even if that takes little time, it still is some time lost
The single action army is actually pretty fun to use.
The locomotive is absolutely brutal though, as is the judge.
Payday 2 shotguns are pretty satisfying, though not Killing Floor levels of love.
