Doesn't anyone find it slightly weird that the cops just give a normal pager response to Jiro speaking a Japanese sentence?
No, everyone in DC speaks Japanese now. They learned it from watching Anime.
Does it do extra damage? If so that means he's the one character that gains stats for being used and that's a problem
Edit:
Disagree isnt an answer, are you saying no to extra damage or that its not a problem?
It does not do extra damage, it's merely a cosmetic thing for killing a Cloaker at roughly half or more charge with the katana as Jiro. It's just a fun little thing they threw in, it's nothing worth getting bent out of shape over by itself.

*Long winded Japanese sentence*
"Oh, okay. That makes sense."
Whatever the secret may be I hope there's ways to earn the other 24 items, such as using offshore/spending in obscene amounts or a super low drop rate
Came really far for my complete collection to die now
Controversial opinion; I kinda hope it's not. Only 50,000 copies were ever sold. That means, divided by 25, every item is a unique one of 2,000. I don't know, I think that makes it kinda special, and I think it makes it more interesting. I feel like if I could get everything it would sorta cheapen it. Exclusive cosmetics in games are perfectly fine and make customization systems more meaningful and special. It makes things more fun. It's the ideal way for devs to make special commemorative or awarded prizes for people; they can create a cool little hat for people who come out, or who win a special event, without upsetting the balance of the game. If the consequence of that is that some dude somewhere gets sad that he can't have everything then I think that's okay too.
The whole point of the COVK pack items is that they are something unique that not everybody has
It'd be nice if you could pick but everything is already based off of rng anyway :V
I just wanna know what the items actually will be
Is there still a way to purchase the COVK pack?
I remember in an earlier thread someone posted a link about a way you could purchase it and it actually worked.

I believe the only way is through third parties these days. Apparently there's some floating around TF2 trade sites but you gotta pay through the nose to get them.
So, ugh, guys... i did something...

Actually i just ported couple of masks from Payday 2 to pretty old game called "The Movies" (kinda... movie-making sim made by Lionhead Studios in 2005 year). And it actually turned out pretty well (except some texture glitches which can be easily fixed).
This just feels weird and fascinating at the same time. :v:
Just did Tabula Rasa, feel pretty good about myself for today now
We even did it first try
On both maps

Not much interesting stuff in the files this time, sorry.
Have this though, I'm not sure what gun 'xeno' is (because it's not the Micro Uzi):

There's also this tiny COP safe that I believe isn't used yet (I don't even think it's in the files, actually):

The new perk decks make tabula rasa much easier.
I did it with a friend of mine without getting downed. He went muscle, I went grinder.

maybe it isnt actually the secret but our new gensec enemy is a talking safe?
Got PAYDAY 2 PC a couple of days ago during the sale, love it already. Looks like Overkill improved a lot off the first game.
I just solo'd the Hotline Miami heist, that was pretty impressive. Couple of questions though, has the Turret van always been in the game? Don't think I ran into it when I was playing on PS3 well over year ago.

SWAT Van got added this March, it's a shit enemy that still has yet to be balanced.
So Jiro + Push2Hold Melee + Katana = A LOT of pissed off people, his charge scream just stacks constantly lmao. It is damn good fun though.
[editline]27th August 2015[/editline]
also has anyone seen the third person animation for the katana? Is it just that dumb bat flailing motion?
Is it just me, or did this update make Overkill a lot easier? Like, Hoxton Breakout on Overkill was outright boring with how easy it was.

It's just the same old melee animation in third person
Also Jiro's charge scream doesn't actually make sound to other players does it?

I've been told to "please stop spamming that speech" when I wasn't spotting or inspiring or anything. Maybe it was just the swing screams I dunno.

Hoxton Breakout has always been easy.
RULES OF NATURE

Katana only is actually Deathwish viable and pretty efficient. Ran Deathwish Big Bank just now and I rocked a Techforcer Infiltrator with Katana. It actually worked out really well. It does have weaknesses though. Cloakers nailed me a lot. I had 10 downs but only 3 of them were to damage; the rest were all Cloaker downs. Also in some spaces the style really fell apart. You need to rely on level geometry to ambush and hide. When we got in the vault, the sheer number of the opposing force funneling through the vault door was enough to overpower any melee attempts and I was basically shut down.
The cool thing about it is that if you know what you're doing, you can take really gimmicky weapons that usually require a good support gun to run. For example, GL40 or Thanatos with an HE Shotgun is a good setup because you're relying on the melee for 90% of your kills.
So, yeah. Give it a shot. Really niche, but really fun.

This is the kind of performance you could expect.
So what's the verdict on the Yakuza deck? I think it's maybe, possibly a slightly better Hitman.
Other than that it probably is gonna need a major buff to be considered any good.
I was kinda hoping we were going to get the spiky haired jiro from the trailer, but i suppose he was always going to be old after he got out of jail "two decades later"
Hoxton Breakout has always been easy.
Yeah, but there was like nobody on the map. It felt even more barren than usual.

Well, it's not as bad as Hitman because technically Yakuza is better than no perk deck. I tried it on Deathwish and yeah, I got my ass handed to me (it wasn't maxed out but I suspect that wouldn't make much difference). It's fun for Berserker if you're playing Overkill but everything works on Overkill. It just doesn't compete with Muscle, Infiltrator, and Sociopath. I think that even Armorer is better if you plan on going Berserker because that 30% armor is more important for helping you maintain a Berserker state.
I will say though that the speed boost was kinda nice, but that doesn't justify its use.
A friend of mine did this

These are some briefing sound IDs for what seems to be this year's Xmas heist (aka Holly). There are also a bunch of new briefing audio files that aren't actually present in the files.

Whoa, people actually pre-plan???
I've never been in a lobby (yet) where they are like: ok everyone, let's preplan this shit.
On a side note, for whatever reason when I press the Push to Talk for voice chatting, it freezes up the game for a second, then continues. Voice chatting on my end just doesn't work, at least I can hear what others are saying tho. Anyone else have this problem?
