PD:TH is not straight up better imo, there's only 1 viable build on overkill and above (m308+bronco+gl40), no experimenting with builds like in PD2, ovk145+ is straight up unfair (more than DW), cloakers are broken and there's always one way to complete a heist, there's no feature like preplanning or assets, it's always the same (except for rng situations, but PD2 has those too). The levelling is linear and boring, there's no gun or mask customization. PD2 will have PDTH heists soon and there's the voice update coming, so soon there will be no reason to play PDTH whatsoever. It's just an inferior game imo and I'm sure if Overkill didn't move on and make PD2 they'd start the 'DLC fuckfest' in PDTH anyway.
Most of those things you mentioned are to be expected from a sequel vs. original comparison, but the overall quality of PD2 did take a hit. I didn't notice it either until I started comparing things more closely, try playing both games one after eachother and you'll see what I meant in my previous posts. It helps if you play as host to get a 100% true perspective of what happens in the game. I've been jumping back and forth between each game and I can tell you with some absolute certainty that things in PD2 aren't flowing as smoothly as they did in PD:TH. Also the DLC fuckfest wouldn't've been a problem in PD:TH since they had different practices in mind. One DLC in PD:TH = 3 weapons + upgrades, 1 skill tree, 2 maps. One DLC in PD2 = 1 map + preplanning, 1 weapon + mods, 4 masks + patterns & customization things. PD:TH's DLC objectively has more content. The value of that content depends, but two maps vs. one map taking into account the scale of PD:TH's heists just makes it ten times better than anything PD2 will field in terms of DLC. Sure it doesn't have masks or patterns, but customizing things like that wasn't implemented in PD:TH to begin with.
Huh, they actor who plays Chains randomly showed up in some leaked shots for Marvel's Civil War helping out a secondary character.

The fact that wolfpack was good doesn't mean the future DLC's wouldn't be like today's PD2 DLC. Also, we got an entire skill tree for free from crimefest. Not locked behind DLC like technician in PDTH.
Huh, they actor who plays Chains randomly showed up in some leaked shots for Marvel's Civil War helping out a secondary character.
Well he did play Thanos at the end credits scene of Avengers 1 so I guess he does small roles there.
Oh my God, you people are complaining about content that isn't even released yet. Are you guys even aware of how ridiculously salty you are collectively?
Oh my God, you're complaining about criticism again. People are going to criticize this game, it's gotten to the point where it deserves criticism. And we're entitled to, we've paid money for this shit, some of us have spent more than 100 dollars at this point. We aren't sheep who are just going to accept every decision because wouldn't it just be ~so~ much simpler that way. We'll complain if we want to. Get the fuck over it, dude.
Oh my God, you people are complaining about content that isn't even released yet. Are you guys even aware of how ridiculously salty you are collectively?
Bruh I usually support Overkill but you really need to open yours eyes
armored transport has the same heist, only different maps each, so no that dosent really count as 6 heists, just 1 heist separated to 6 maps.
Thinking like that then it's 2 heists separated into 6 maps (train and transports)
next up a new announced heister from Africa with a giant lipped monkey mask named Mandela, a predictable massive south african accent, and a 'Tribal' perk deck, ElusiveBadger tells everyone they can't call it racist or stereotyping because that's criticism and also it hasn't been released yet you can't know
Well, if Overkill working on australian heister... Or Please. (It will be helluva interesting how ironsights will work on Owen). :v:
I'm personally betting its another smg (hopefully the Owen gun) looking at all the the smgs they've added recently we may get some smg skills yet since they really need some attention. smg related perk deck anyone?
I always thought SMGs are weapons that don't need skill investment to be used properly like shotguns or pistols, so you can use them on any build
heister from Africa with a predictable massive south african accent
I'm not defending badger's delusional posts but do you really expect a foreign heister to speak perfect english and have a 100% american accent? If Jiro didn't speak 100% japanese you guys would be complaining about his accent.
That may be true but they are still very weak in general, I think a large ammo buff would fix most of the smg issues straight away for me.
jiro was a cool move from overkill imo, feels like they recognised that the niché of every character having simply an accent was too predictable, and the fact he speaks only japanese was a surprise to most people so showed it worked out in the end
I'm not defending badger's delusional posts but do you really expect a foreign heister to speak perfect english and have a 100% american accent? If Jiro didn't speak 100% japanese you guys would be complaining about his accent.
Um, yes and no? Plenty of people take English classes and can speak English very well, including Japanese people who deal with English speaking people. And there's a difference between having an accent and sounding like a cartoon character. When an Irish person has an accent, it's whatever. When they're like ROIGHT LADS SHAMROCKS AHOY ON THIS HOIST, it sounds more like a cartoon character. There's a reason Asian characters being portrayed as going "OH HERROOoOOoo~!" is usually considered racist. I'm just saying I there's a difference between Jiro, a Japanese person who's only English sounds like "Darras" and "Doctor Bag-uu~" toting around a fucking katana, and a normal Japanese person.
I just feel like i'm missing out on cool jokes because I don't speak japanese
In fact some of many foreign heisters speech is in other languages, like Wolf speaking Swedish, Dragan speaking Croatian, and Jacket speaking in I think Portugese. The difference is, these characters do it on occasion and are still perfectly understandable.

His background is interesting, voice gimmick neat, and I like the weapons albeit the katana needs a nerf. His callouts are in English and that's all I really care about, since other players can hear me. Immersion is kind of a silly thing to think of when you fight guys in EOD suits or rob nukes. As long as Jiro doesn't become a standard for heisters speaking different languages only, I think it's fine.
it was jarring because his entire introduction is him speaking english absolutely fine
it was jarring because his entire introduction is him speaking english absolutely fine
Eh? I thought in his trailer he only spoke Cash is King in English? Edit: Upon watching he didn't say anything in English?
am I imagining things again edit: yes, yes I am
I just wanna say that never in any of my posts do I say that what Overkill does is a good thing, only that the constant bitching about it gets on my nerves To me it really detracts from discussing other aspects of the game(s) in here because all the speculation for future updates and discussions of current heists eventually just twists back into more cynicism And I get that, I understand that and I agree with that. $100+ of DLC is extremely hostile to consumers, both intimidating potential new players behind an incredibly expensive paywall and disengaging current customers by squeezing them for every last cent they have. It's not that you guys have a beef with the way they do business. I have a beef with the way they do business. But coming into here and seeing all the disgust and vitrol, even as justified as it is, really doesn't encourage me to play this game I really enjoy.

It's just ass backwards to have this guy speak 99.9% japanese. Other characters with their own languages i.e Sokol's russian, Dragan's croatian(?) and Wolf's swedish tactfully use words from their own languages where it's appropiate, like when they're swearing or celebrating something. Those times when they talk in their native tongue are actually fairly unique and it reminds you that they're professional russian/swedish/croatian heisters, not some katana-toting retards that yell incoherent bullshit and butcher regular english words. It's unprofessional and honestly kind of degrading for what's supposed to be this big Yakuza dude with a deep backstory.
That's not gonna stop me from thinking that their business practices are downright heinous and just totally disrespectful to the gaming community. They also know exactly where the line is and they tip toe around with free updates just enough to get people like you to support them and to get warier fellows such as myself or Mister Sandman to achknowledge and deny their bullshit.
Are people still bitching about Jiro speaking Japanese? jfc
Are people still bitching about Jiro speaking Japanese? jfc
Even though it doesn't bother me, it's still a valid complaint. It really locks a lot of the charcterchization out behind a language wall and as Head Hopper said, it'd be better done of it was just a drop here or there, or the occasional regression into it.
If I had a decent mic I'd whip up a Hong Kong Dub Jiro soundpack asap

He speaks Russian sometimes too and his accent isn't a stereotypical CYKA VODKA BALALAIKA one, but rather accent that I myself have. He sounds very natural and I always have fun when playing as him. Heister done right. Playing as characters like Bonnie though is very painful.
I still laugh my ass off at the fact that OVERKILL added an enemy to the game that the bots LITERALLY cannot deal with. As soon as a swat van spawns, wave goodbye to them, even though they are pretty much just bullet sponges.

You got one for each missing player and they seemed a little bit smarter too. Maybe their damage values were higher or something, because they sure as shit could hold their own. Their pathfinding was often a little bit weird since it looks like they tried their best to take the same steps you took while at the same time lagging behind a bit, so you couldn't peek that often out of hallways like in First World Bank's vault lobby thing or they would overextend a bit and get roughed up.
