I would find it funny and refreshing if the new enemy is actually a kind of boss, a stereotypical 1970's/80's action hero working in the police who "follows his own rules". He drives a Falcogini and rushes in with dual pistols or an SMG or something and does sick moves all around, makes him hard to hit. The opposite of a bulldozer, you know.
And while he attacks, you can hear all the cops outside screaming "Come on, hero, do it!" "Save the day again, super-cop!" "He's crazy pulling stunts like that!" "The chief's not going to like those methods of his... again" etc.
And then he gets killed and you hear all the cops go like "aaawwwh" and "impossible!"
That sounds pretty awesome.
Maybe a grenade launcher wielding cop that shoots tear gas at you.
Considering that tear gas lines for heisters have been a thing since the beggining, this might be the real deal.

Don't those simply refer to the spiked AC unit in Bank heists when HRT lands on the roof?
But yeah, a grenadier or a commander/tactician would be a likely bet for a new enemy. K9 won't happen due to animal cruelty.
I have just realized that I haven't been attacked by gas in... Who knows how long

Where can you even get gas attacked besides H&T and that trap on The Diamond?

hoxout day 2 when you download the encryption keys
So, I've recently taken a shine to MUI's HUD customization features, but needed to disable PocoHud in order to use it. That being the case, I've had to forego some extraneous features, namely the ability to see enemy health and such.
Anyone know if there's a stand-alone mod floating around that adds numeric health/on-hit damage indicators to enemies, à la PocoHud?
Remember when one of us discovered that pressing space skipped the level up screen and everyone exploded in surprise?
You're my hero.
I've been playing this game for a little over a year and a half now, and had no idea you could do that; Now I can avoid feeling like an asshole of a host waiting for ~40 levels to tick by next time I go infamous... :v:

We spent an hour in Cook Off, getting 20 bags of meth only for the host to kick the remaining survivor because they ignored two cloakers on myself and the host and dashed to the van. All that cooking, all those specials I'd killed...
It wasn't all for nothing, right? At least we had fun? Right?

This is one thing that I absolutely cannot stand in PD2. You should get atleast something for attempting a heist or getting a fucking hour into it. I'm not saying "oh here's your participation trophy, have 100 levels and 20 thousand bitches", I just want a little something to make the time wasted trying and failing to play with the common PD2 jackasses less, you know, wasted.
Edit: Does anyone have the exact mod or .lua script base that would let me do the non-stop yelling spam from 0:00 to 0:10? For lad life purposes, won't use it to annoy pubbies, I promise.

I kinda wish that melee weapons had proper third-person animations, so teammates could easily see that you are charging/holding your melee weapon out, instead of you just standing there pointing your gun but not shooting.
I've been running a pretty good melee build since Jiro's katana came out, and I've realized how goofy it must look to other players because all the animations are you repeatedly flailing your arm around with your gun in your other hand
If even possible, a complete overhaul where they were their own "slot" would be pretty cool too. Maybe make it to where melee with your guns out is always the gun-butt, seperate from your equipped melee weapon.
Just finished Hoxton Breakout on DW.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THOSE DOZERS
AND THERE A SWARM OF CLOAKERS
AND OVER THERE MORE RPGS FIRING
WHY ARE THE AMMO BAGS EMPTY
WHO THE FUCK SETS EVERYTHING ON FIRE
I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS

In a game about committing crime, I think it should be an all or nothing deal. I mean if you rob a bank in real life but fail to get away with it, it's not like they're going to give you half of what you attempted to steal as a "Hey I appreciate and admire the effort you put forth, as a token of that admiration have some of the loot you attempted to steal".

Woah, that looks fantastic! Thanks for this... but you can't use Pocohud at all with it?
I've been sitting in class upset at myself because I went infamy again(x21) last night and forgot to spend my new infamy point and I did like four heists
which doesn't seem like much but at 21 it's like your entire heist and more
also for discussion on the new enemy almir said a while back that voice lines and clarity of hearing them were important. but that was a while back, so. anything could have happened by now
I forgot to spend the infamy point when I went infamy 15 and only realized that when I infamied to 16.
I'm still waiting for our new enemy to be added before I go Infamy again.
Not being able to do loud heists efficiently when new stuff is out sucks.

theres still 1 week left before he rises like a sputnik, so you have time, i was able to reach an infamous level in 5 days actually, and that was before hoxton breakout even came, so im sure you can do better than me, just go infamy, ask a friend to stealth a jewerly DW to reach lvl 30 fast, do another heist stealth to reach 40-50, then invest skills in loud, and start doing loud heists from firestarter, rats, bomb dock/forest, hoxout, hotline miami and golden grin, all these have high exp reward and theyre really not that hard for your level once you use the right assets/preplanning and right gear.
new unit is just your conscience that guilt trips you about all the cops you killed based on your stats, true leak my daddy is almir

Since we have Jacket in the game this might as well be Manny Pardo. He absorbs a lot of bullets because he was born with thick skin.
what are you guys talking about? the new enemy is obviously 2 swat van turret on top of each other attached to falcogini with anti grenade/rocket paint which is driven by a bunch of cloakers that rape you when get close to the car.

If the game was realistic then I'd be ok with this excuse, but it really isn't. It kinda was believable at release, but things have gotten so hectic and out of hand that the original theme of Payday 2, the robber men that rob banks, is distorted beyond belief. Right now it's just a bunch of dudes that yell at eachother, shoot cops with RPGs and wield katanas like masters, and that's even tame compared to the shit that's coming out lately.
Like I said, I don't want a ridiculous payout like in the base unpatched game where there really wasn't a point to doing the day 2 or 3 of certain missions since the contract day rate covered you pretty well, but still; something to sweeten the whole "this is a co-op game but the only cooperative thing going on right now is me helping those useless assholes off the ground" would really go a long way for me and a lot of other players, I'm sure.

I don't understand the logic
I kinda feel like broken logic
I am taking all the EXP infamy points to get this over with
But yet when i do reach max infamy, i'll be stuck without having anything to progress
You've still got nearly 100 achievements to go
Woah, that looks fantastic! Thanks for this... but you can't use Pocohud at all with it?
Well, turns out I'm an idiot; Tried it just now, and it would seem you can use both PocoHud and MUI together, while retaining the functions of both...
I blindly assumed that since they're HUD mods, conflicts, crashes, and/or other problems would crop up, but so far, I haven't had anything go wrong. I'll do some more testing later today.

I suppose that's sort of true but at the same time it's possible to be cheated out of your cash and points just because of a bad connection or host. Also in the original Payday you got a bit of money (worked as experience points but you get the idea) instantly upon completing any objectives, you also kept progress and rewards for challenges regardless of how the heist ended, now in PD2 that only applies to achievements that don't require completing the heist.

I don't know why I'm compromising on theoretical solutions to theoretical problems, but I actually really did like challenges and I thought they we're a good alternative to earning XP, if challenges we're somehow incorporated (Do sidejobs give XP?) I think it could work in Payday 2 as well as a way to reward effort

Uhh... how'd you manage that? When I tried both I couldn't even load into the game after starting a contract, the screen just goes black. Might be because I also have a third HUD running, though... Are you able to disable any of MUI's HUD elements?
