I can't say I've ever cared about veteran status symbols myself, be it Vintage quality items in TF2 or Hearthstone cardbacks or preorder DLC. I haven't ever witnessed someone ogling me for having those things, I just care about how bling my character looks to myself, so I don't care if everyone else has the same access to customization options as me.
Things aren't worth having if other people can get them. Wouldn't want to have everything available to all players.
Them taking so long to release the Umbra is a little ridiculous however
I think people who got their guns during those betas should get a purely cosmetic limited edition exclusive item of sorts. That way, if they do decide to allow everyone else to get the guns, the people who played during that time still get like some sort of reward. Just my 2 cents.
My two cents is that just the Braton Vandal should be released. Closed Beta Testers can keep the Lato Vandal for all I care.

Well to me the Braton Vandal is the greyish area that is wierd. It was given out during a Open Closed Beta weekend to stress test the servers. Many players in the CBT didn't even know that the Braton Vandal existed in the market for a credit. Thats the reason why I think that the braton vandal should be the one to be re-released. The lato however was given out to closed beta testers with a clear intention of it being the only one that symbolizes that they were there in the CBT.
Just give them a unique sigil and emblem, that's their use anyways, to show what you have done and the time you have played.

They got rid of the special firing sound it once had, so right now its a bit unnoticeable, especially with its non-pbr texture and the only unique part being on the grip (which you cover with your hand.)

To be honest, what is the difference between what they were doing and what we do now, other than now DE just lets anyone bug test their game?
I remember when the Lato Vandal used to be awesome. It was my go-to gun. It really is a bit of a pea-shooter now though.
As for the Braton, I've been thinking about slapping an irresponsible number of Forma on one to make it the world's most dangerous terrible weapon, so it'd be nice to have one with better base stats. I just really like the Braton :v:

Braton Vandal is just as good as the Prime is. I don't see anything garbage about it. Just because it's not Tonkor doesn't mean that it's not viable and fun to use till enemy level ~80.
I just hate saying that weapons are complete garbage. Some of them are indeed pretty bad, but most of them can still be made "okay" and be fun to use.

i mean fuck the hind could be a good weapon with that slash damage and how surprisingly often the slash procs compared to the actual status chance but it just doesnt DO enough damage to really make up for it being relatively slow without fire speed mods and the recoil i mean even the firing sound is sorta interesting
tbh I wish they'd make Excal/Lato/Skana prime available to the unwashed masses simply because it means they might eventually actually buff them, not to mention that I also hate exclusives in a game like this

It is weaker than the braton prime by a decent margin(roughly 5k dps with a full multiforma'd build if I remember right), but no one can say the lato vandal is worth using.
