So are the General/King slots just there to be assassinated or do they actually do something?
They command their respective armies
I'll take the Eagle Pilot.
Edit: Wait a minute, how the hell is a little bird supposed to recon against T-90s?

i will find enemy with bear eye vision
I hate to break it to you, but the Navigator on the BRM1-K sits right infront of the turret. From what I've experienced in like 2 minutes using it, its really hard to see.
Foxtrot Driver please.

I'm aware, I'm going to be running around on foot more than likely. It's also just a seat who can deploy the radio.
Talking sense into me.
Fuck it, Can you put me in Driver position instead.
I don't think this is a running around mission. But sad to see you go.

I never understood the jet mod stuff. Jet pilots are only used like 10% of the time and even when that happens it's only ever 1 person who gets to do the job.

What is the F/A-18F?
Fast air does have a place in Arma, be it bomb dropping or CAP, they're less massively aware than a helicopter and have shorter loiter time, making them pretty balanced
Plus dumb bombs are powerful but inaccurate, and rocket pods are the same thing, aircraft are only overpowered if they have weapons like cluster bombs and F&F atgms
[editline]21st September 2015[/editline]
Even paveways are balanced, you need a good ground controller, whilst GPS bombs depend on the accuracy of your mark
[editline]21st September 2015[/editline]
Interceptors are useless though, and strategic bombers don't turn up often enough and often do one pass, level a village and then fly off again

Don't get me wrong, I've made jet-only missions before using that jet. It just goes back to the whole "Arma is an infantry simulator" thing. I've played with groups that never use jets in their missions yet have like 5+GB dedicated to them. Then, when they're actually used once in a blue moon, it's always the same A10 or whatever anyway.

I strongly disagree with this tbh. I've seen and known a few players who can take a jet and just solo an entire mission with it and kill off all sorts of enemy jet AI in the process. No ground control needed, that's how good they are/were. I wish I were exaggerating but I've seen it myself.
I just don't understand the hype that some people get for jet mods in this game.

I use jets a lot when I play SP. Especially the ones from the USAF mod, and I can't imagine playing Arma with no access to Jets at all.
It doesen't matter if they are only used in 10% of the time. We have a shitload of content in our modpack that gets rarely used, that doesen't mean we should just remove them.
Don't get me wrong, I've made jet-only missions before using that jet. It just goes back to the whole "Arma is an infantry simulator" thing.
Arma is not an infantry simulator.
At the very least, it's a military simulator with emphasis on combined arms scenarios.
But in reality, it's more of a sandbox for people with all kinds of taste. You can put whatever the fuck you want in your sandbox. Some people play with planes, others with tanks.
If it was, we'd have no Vehicles apart from static emplacements at all.

Well, thats not our problem.
We pretty much only have the Vanilla planes, the F/A-18 and the RHS Planes (~3 planes).
Removing the F/A-18 from the modpack would be retarded (only good 2 seater plane) and removing the RHS planes would probably break RHS. We can't really go more minimalistic than that.
I really don't see the issue your having.

Then they got a loadout that is not suited for the mission at hand. Pasting some random Air asset in a mission without taking it's ordnance into account when balancing the mission is a recipe for disaster.
Generally if you want the Air asset to function as CAS, then give it LGB's and maybe 2 AGM-65's, so the air asset (mostly) depends on guidance from ground units.
I just don't understand the hype that some people get for jet mods in this game.
People (including me) like planes? Ofc people who like planes would love to see them in Arma? Whats not to understand about this?
I've always preferred the guns and maybe rockets only slow shitty plane type of CAS in arma, shame it doesn't really fit on our scenarios and we don't have a plane like that anyway
A pucara or bronco would be nice
It'd also be cool to have a MiG 29 though, or 21
Taki Bravo Gunner.
anna gunner pls.
Jets depend on the crew being patient enough to not go hunting on their own instead of listening for calls. If they don't they'll either end up killing almost everything or die leaving the people in the ground with no support.
Is there a way to make winds stronger in the editor? I mean its set in the Mediterranean, you'd think they'd let you have wind storms.
We've had hurricane winds on several missions judging by smoke dispersal and tree swaying

Press Ctrl+I in the editor to bring up the Intel thing (or just click ont he Cloud and Thunderstorm icon iirc on the top bar, assuming you're using the default editor interface).
