Yea, this however will less constrained to GGDs rules, and more offtopic, on top of that the event notifications. Think of it more as a side chat. We can still have discussions in the thread as well.
Ah I see, you want a place where you can spew your memes.

Discord is nice, it's not as robust as Teamspeak though.
So I heard that ALiVE mod is capable of running a large scale amount of NPCs very well. Could this be useful for us if true?
As far as I've heard, Werthles Headless is the best way to get lots of AI running smoothly now, even surpassing ALiVE.
can you connect to Slack with IRC
if not, im not gonna use it

they're not even comparable??

yep as long as the server supports it. ace3 slack does.

werthles doesn't seem to have any caching so i doubt that. alive works because it hides units based on their distance from players
the problem is that BI needs to fix HC on linux still. hasn't worked since 1.48
http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22914
Alive also has HC support now.
If we are ever gonna use it, I'd highly suggest waiting until 1.0 which happens soonish, since 1.0 introduces breaking changes.

I can already see it now
Next mission will just be nothing but boat defense from hoards of Somalian Pirates

Yes and no. It runs them in the sense that everything you're not within X distance from (usually 1500 metres) is cached. So they're technically not there. The advantage of ALiVE is that it actually simulates the AI doing something when they're not in the game world - there's a few other caching solutions that just have them stay in the place they despawned.
Before I probably wouldn't have recommended ALiVE for anything other than its persistent campaign support, but with the headless client support they've added to it, I can see it being very useful for regular one-off missions.

As long as it's not like RHS, great promises of much content, but subpar configs.
If it's actually in a working state then it'll be great, but getting hype leads to disappointment.
If we can sit on the side of those blackhawks instead of sitting inside the doorway I will love cup vehicles so much.
I mean look at this tactical motherfucker

Well, atleast with CUP Vehicles we would actually have the ability to fix certain things that nag us, since it's open-source, as opposed to RHS's models and Damage system, which is partially done in the closed-source model files.
I just want ACE to have their own vehicles and weapons again.
Replace RHS with CUP when?
Replace RHS with CUP when?
When CUP is released and when we did some testing to see which has more benefits I guess.
Well, I wouldn't jump the gun on CUP if I were you. Judging by the state the weapons and the units are in I'm not surprised they're taking their sweet time with the vehicles. And the maps too, I guess. Haven't tried out RC01 yet.
IIRC they don't have a lot of people working on CUP, and considering they have a lot of projects, it's gonna take some time.
They are looking for a lot of helping hands tho.

It doesn't have the Minigun SUV from the PMC DLC.
Heya guys, I'm really happy that you like CUP work and we indeed need more experienced people to work with us, there is lot of work and progress is now really slow.
Wished I could help, tho I only can offer Texture work and basic frontend webdev. Definitely looking forward for the release!
TBH I'd be okay with most of the vehicles just using configs from the vanilla vehicles.
