I really liked the theming of the mission. America attacking some little country that still uses mainly WW2 and some post war weapons. Don't know how the fuck they paradropped tanks though. Also anyone know what happened at the castle? Seems like I was the only one firing and when I turned around an American had killed my spotter.

Honestly not surprised modders put in a lightsaber before bayonets.
I liked the idea of the mission and would happily give it a retry with some things tweaked. My feedback: Meta gaming - There was a moment where a group of us took a UAZ from spawn and got attacked by a tank. Two of us bailed and hid from the tank(s) and they fucked off. We were the only survivors and were deciding on what to do while hiding behind the wall out of sight (from what we could tell). Then a few minutes later a M113 came out of nowhere and just ploughed into out position (by knocking down a wall no less) and chase us into the construction zone. Now I don't know if we were visible but it was just kind of annoying. Again, this might have been a one-off instance. Spawn location - We should have been able to get reinforcements to our defensive lines without having to go through enemy fire constantly. Every respawn I had I was killed on the way to our defensive lines because we had to go through enemy roads (even near the beginning of the mission). This would kind of make sense as the mission processed and the enemy starting to close in. But at that time it was just a bit harsh. AT equipment - This is nit picky but maybe some kind of basic launcher would have been nice. Considering how many M113s there were (from my POV anyways). That's just feedback, I usually love missions where you have to defend against enemy attacks but I wasn't feeling this one.

[/QUOTE] there were two static at launchers which might've done the job if the other had been set up and if i had got a direct hit on anything with the one i used (the tanks were over a kilometer away though and moving horisontally from where we were looking). things would've probably worked out better if the other squads also had a couple of spgs.
the defensive lines fell really quicky and after that the enemy was only attacking capri, so that's why you were being engaged [editline]26th October 2015[/editline] tho the m60 did some really funky engagements through the fog and far away
I would have loved the chance to do some CQB fighting within the city as a Sapper. Going between streets, alleys and buildings using AT grenades against armour would have been sick. [editline]26th October 2015[/editline] And I completely forgot about the static launchers we had, my bad.
In that situation I think any commander would have expected enemy armour to land on the beaches, you can't drop an M60 out of a C130 Also the position of the defensive line was confusing, it implied that we'd be seeing enemy forces coming in from the north and that's how every asset positioned itself. Hence having M113s and M60s come from our rear subverted everyone's expectations and led to people being fucked up Additionally reinforcements were trying to get to the alleged frontline, but the fact that tanks somehow materialised in Capri tended to fuck up people Plus an entire squad of reinforcements going to hill 445 being killed by two hand grenades Powergaming Zeuses didn't help either (when you're direct controlling as Zeus, either you should be directly engaging with ineffectual weapons (see Tomoe's dragon shenanigans) or aiming close to players to scare them) [editline]26th October 2015[/editline] Also weapons teams should probably be separate units so people are aware they exist [editline]26th October 2015[/editline] If you have a defence mission you either need to define where the enemy will be coming from or tell people that they don't know where the enemy will be coming from

If you need help with the initial setup, hop onto TS and I'm sure someone will help you within the ARMA channel.

The grenades coming out of the hilltop bunker killed only under half of the squad and the survivors cleared the hill mostly by spamming grenades so i guess it works both ways. edit: tho it's usually really annoying to get killed by grenades or landmines and having to hike back to the action so maybe prevent instadeath should've been on. edit2: splash damage exclusive prevent instadeath when?

The paratrooper were pretty cool. It's just that the entire thing was a huge chaos. Communication was nonexistant. Suddenly, Enemy Tanks and Units right next to us inside the defensive line. Once we died, re couldn't get back to the defensive line, because we'd have to go trough the enemies. Tried to got o the castle after the order to do so, and ran with fippe to the castle (Truck for booty slapped). Arrive and see it's abandoned, despite the order still being active. Wonder what the fuck is going on, we then suddenly get teleported to that villa.
