Arma push to talk isn't the radio bind though, they share the same default key but they both run through teamspeak, just with different keybinds.

well there are tons of shitty mods and tons of badass ones, you just gotta take a gander at armaholic
but the problem is that if you don't have a group to play with, mods will mostly just isolate you and force you to play alone. so if you're alright with that have fun, but the majority of public servers will be vanilla.
with the exception of Tactical Battlefield (Project Reality in Arma) and Breaking Point(Arma 3's DayZ), and probably some others, which will put you in contact with servers using those modsets.
