You should still be able to use them in the case of guns, although it will clutter your ui with notifications that you're using a dlc weapon.
[t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/437200827339846117/E62543FB0F0BF7C2664E6E1753A934CDF0011AD1/[/t] Negative.
The Marksman Rifles are additional Content provided for people who pay for it. That Content wasn't free to produce. That Content wasn't covered by the development time and cost of the base game. They are not relevant to the core gameplay of Arma. If they are a core aspect of a custom mission, then blame the mission maker, not bohemia. They are not super weapons and aren't superior to the Base Game weapons. The SPMG and Navid are in the same class as the Zafir and the MX-LSW, if you take firerate into account. The SPMG is only good for suppressive fire. Hitting stuff with bursts at anything but short range is a nightmare since the Recoil is incredibly high. The MAR-10 is inferior to the 2 anti material rifles, and the only Benefit the MAR-10 has is the ability for a silencer and has a slightly faster firerate than the 2 50cal's, which for the traditional Sniper role are negible. the ASP-Kir is a Silenced Subsonic 50cal which is meant for providing silent stopping power at extreme close ranges without having sonic cracks happening. This gun is only useful if you take the first shot and aren't spotted yet. It's tiny magazine will be your death if you get spotted and get pulled into a firefight. MK14: Basically the MK18 EBR with Added recoil but slightly better accuracy. Cyrus: Pretty much the only weapon in the Marksman DLC which poses a significant competition from other Base game weapons. Mk1 EMR: Basically MK18 EBR with 30 round magazine. It's better than to not be able to join the server at all, like it is the case on other games with DLC.
i don't even know what the dlc weapons looks like [editline]20th August 2015[/editline] that's how interested i am in using them
i like the aesthetic's of the Mar-10 and unless you have a mod that adds a weapon that shoots .300 lapua its one of the better performing long range weapons with ace advanced ballistics
I care much more for the added (free!) features the dlc gave than the actual content tbh.

The issue is that they chose a DLC model that harasses you for not paying. $16 is also an absurd price for what's in the DLCs. That's slightly more than what other companies charge for map packs.

[editline]20th August 2015[/editline] Basicly you feel like you get very little bang for your buck, but in reality you're funding large features and continued development.

Stop you from connecting to Servers that use Missions with DLC Content, so you don't see them at all? Make the DLC Content very low res like it was in Arma 2? People would still bitch about that. Make it cheaper? People will bitch until it is free. Seriously I've seen people bitch about Arma being only 50% off on steam sale. The price is reasonable, since it's not just funding the premium weapons itself, but also the free features and improvements that come with it, and also is a way to provide BI with funding to keep updating their games. BI has a track record of supporting their games for an incredibly long time. Many years longer than pretty much most other big game studios, and the size of those updates are still very large considering they are many years old. The thing is that keeping these people employed is very expensive. They need to produce content, and that content needs to be sold at a price that covers the cost for developing it. BI has made sure that the Premium weapons do not compromise the integrity of the core game, but what is happening in User Created missions is something they can not influence, and to be honest should not stir blind hate against BI.
I'm gonna be honest here, but what would you suggest? Stop you from connecting to Servers that use Missions with DLC Content, so you don't see them at all?
I think this is a good solution. If it were like that, noone would use the DLC content.
I think this is a good solution. If it were like that, noone would use the DLC content.
... You want people not to be able to connect to servers? what the fuck?
... You want people not to be able to connect to servers? what the fuck?
I'm saying that servers wouldn't use missions with DLC content because it'd stop people from connecting. Problem solved.
I think this is a good solution. If it were like that, noone would use the DLC content.
You would effectively raise the base price of the game by $30, onotop of the upcoming expansion that's already going to do that.
I think this is a good solution. If it were like that, noone would use the DLC content.
And dramatically less people would buy it in the first place, then you might see bi stopping development altogether because they're running out of money
If BI weren't such incompetent devs maybe they wouldn't have wasted all their cash and have to charge people for content that should have been in the base game. [editline]20th August 2015[/editline] watch as the new tanoa DLC isn't in the DLC pack and costs $49.99 or something
i think this is more of a bad business than bad dev thing tho

[editline]20th August 2015[/editline] watch as the new tanoa DLC isn't in the DLC pack and costs $49.99 or something
I'm fine with the content in the base game. I'd much rather see engine updates than new features. These DLCs still suck hard. EDIT: And as a serious response to kaukassus I'd rather they release things like mission packs so this isn't an issue
Rebound all my Arma 3 keys (started some yesterday evening, finished this evening). Some things of note: Walk/Run on Shift, Sprint on Space, Step over on Double Space, Crouch on Ctrl, Switch Optics on Middle Mouse button (for opr8ness). Oh, and Weapon Zeroing on the mouse wheel. Still find myself pressing the old keys sometimes, but there's a lot less key juggling I've found so far. Pretty daunting task to go through and do them all, but I've found a control scheme for myself that'll hopefully make reacting to things in-game a lot faster!
Compared to BAF and PMC the DLC packs in 3 are flacid wretched things shat out into the world by an uncaring unfeeling universe. Fuckin karts man, the game already has the worst vehicle handling of all time. bar PR motorbikes
The expansion isn't in the dlc pack, we already know that.
why not
why not
Why should it? It was clearly stated what the DLC Pack will contain, and that was a long time before the expansion was announced.
Has anyone else ever had an issue where your weapon sometimes wouldn't fire when you're controlling a unit through Zeus?
I thought people stopped complaining about this stuff months ago tbf

Fuckin karts man, the game already has the worst vehicle handling of all time. bar PR motorbikes
Amen, the sheer amount of content you got in those that, at the time, were extremely well made and a breath of fresh air in the game compared to this small gun pack is horrendous. I can't believe how many people are blindly defending that pack for somehow being good or not a complete rip off and just auto dumbing everyone who disagrees with them. It's barely even a case of it being objective, that pack has never been nor it will ever be good value for money and Bohemia have no excuse for charging for content in a game that's lacking it in the base vanilla version. "just dont use them lol" or "nobody is forcing u 2 buy them lmao" doesn't make the pack okay. They're making hand over foot on money don't presume they desperately need the funding as a indie developer struggling up the ropes of the harsh video game environment.
Why do I even bother anymore.

it's the rocks :)
