Because if you still have your area 3 folder in your documents it'll still keep your settings.
Delete them and restart the game.

Unfortunately it's impossible, it's only possible to change helmet and vest textures via config editing.

you can change the little index number to choose which hiddenselection you are changing (player setObjectTextureGlobal [[B]0[/B], "whatever.paa"];)
the thing also has to be configured to work with hiddenselections so it might just not be possible at all with mich 2000.
It doesn't go higher than 1 in most cases though, uniform and patch. It's just not configured for vest and headgear.

Oh shit, I didn't realize that worked for patches, that'll come in handy.
It seems like when you use hiddenSelections in the unit's init instead of having a proper set uniform it doesn't work for some of the units though.
For that one IDF op I did with you guys, there was one dude in AAF digital for every 5 in the proper OD/Green.

With regards to that, it seems that Fartparty was unaware that all the textures in FP_uniforms were actual uniforms and not just textures, and he wanted to put Israeli flags on the uniforms, so I guess he used AAF digital uniforms for some reason and not the base OD uniforms we have, and set the texture from the init
I still don't know why he chose AAF digital rather than the OD green uniforms
People really need to take a look at what we have in our modpack, it's neat stuff
