Scout is actually a really good killer. His range and damage potential are high. And if you get the Swift bow, which I saved up and bought outright, you can do almost as much damage as the compound bow, but do it quickly. Even just tapping for a quick shot hurts them and is usually enough to finish critically wounded Vampires. One thing I love is that so often Vampire think they are safe behind walls or on high cover. Then that flare pops up from under them and a hail of arrows falls on them. I do that all the time, just throw the flare a distance where a Vampire is hiding then watch them panic to get out of the rain. It greatly helps throw off ambushes and stalls and weakens incoming attacks. I was so proud once in a lobby. The first game we played I did that several times, then in subsequent games the other scouts on both sides started to use it as well. I don't think most scouts realize just how far they can throw that thing.
Which would be the best deal to buy in regards to getting into the game. [editline]9th August 2014[/editline] The packs ingame or the steam shop.

Blahg post regarding matchmaking http://www.nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-matchmaking-past-present-and-future
As you may have seen last week, the August 4 Game Update included the first steps (of many planned) in a significant addition to Nosgoth that, when finished, will considerably improve your gameplay experience; i.e. The new Party and Matchmaking systems! Because adding smarter and more useful matchmaking takes time, however, we thought we'd explain what we ultimately have planned for release before the summer is out. The Old System Prior to the August 4 update, Nosgoth relied entirely on built-in Steam party and matchmaking tools. While this allowed us to easily queue games, it didn’t have the ability to identify multiple games that could have been combined to launch matches quicker and/or avoid creating unneeded rooms. Identifying higher-quality players and putting together gamers of equivalent skill weren't part of the equation either. Today’s System Starting August 4, we have taken the first steps towards building a better system: We've added temporary Party balancing so that Parties that significantly tilt the scale are appropriately divided to keep the experience fair for everyone If there is Party redistribution, however, we ensure that members of that Party still play together and are not split off into different games There is now a Level requirement for Team Deathmatch (Level 3). Players who don’t meet that requirement are delegated to “New Recruit” rooms. This setup allows new players to better understand the game, while also cutting down on potential “n00b farming” from the vets Coming Soon Over the next several weeks, we’ll introduce a number of other improvements and additions as well, including: A Skill Matching system that uses a new Skill rating to group players based on ability rather than level (which is what we do now). Skill Ratings will be updated constantly, of course Automatic Empty Slot Filling. Because Nosgoth is a team-focused game, losing a player in the middle of a match can have a major impact on the outcome and fun of that contest. That’s why one of our new features will be the ability to fill an empty slot from a dropped player as quickly as possible without interrupting the action Pubstomping Solution. This replaces the temporary Party balancing feature we had originally included in the August 4 patch, but rolled back because of technical issues. Once finished, Parties will be paired against each other automatically Population Counts. While the display is still being fine-tuned, a list of the total number of players logged in, sitting idle, and available per playlist will eventually be visible to everyone Notification Improvements. We think we can do better in regards to letting you know what’s happening during matchmaking. When all is said and done, you will be more informed when looking for a game, with a specific focus on superior "Error" messaging when it happens And that’s what's on tap for Nosgoth’s matchmaking improvements. If all goes according to plan, each and every one of these features will be up and running by the end of the summer -- with plenty of bug fixing and screw tightening in the months that follow. As always, you have our sincerest grattitude for your continued support and patience. Thank you very much.
[editline]13th August 2014[/editline] It's happening guys, life is gonna get so much easier now
Has anyone reserved a facepunch warband name yet?
Great game, so much fun had. Though I'm sad they split parties rather than match equal skill (read: lvl) players against you. I wonder if they will make arrow based weapons have travel time in the future (rather than hit-scan)
I bought an Immortal Founder pack; any suggestions on a Warband name? Just Facepunch, or maybe something more creative? Fangpunch?
Speaking of this:
There is now a Level requirement for Team Deathmatch (Level 3). Players who don’t meet that requirement are delegated to “New Recruit” rooms. This setup allows new players to better understand the game, while also cutting down on potential “n00b farming” from the vets
Have you guys been reset to level 1 on your primary character but keep all your unlocks? I was able to rejoin the new recruit queue and play games as a level 30, I felt bad.
Jumped on the train with the free weekend and really enjoying the game. Only complaint is the party system still only works like half the time.
Just popping in. I think the game's pretty fun, I didn't feel at a disadvantage on either side, and had a blast on both. I'm a total noob though, so does that change at later levels/experience? (Perhaps I'm too much of a scrub to see the imbalance yet) What I really popped in to do though was to thank Ax3l for the code, it was mighty kind of him. Since I see others were giving codes like Tompson though, I just want to give a "Thank you" to all who are giving others a chance at playing the game. And good luck to the rest of you who are having fun as well!

So this thread is pretty much dead, anyone here still playing?
Haven't played in a few weeks, all my friends stopped so I did too. Really want to get this train going again though.
I play almost every day - Level 37 or 38 now (I got beta invite rather than preorder).

Haven't played for a week either, this game needs more game modes, maybe a deathmatch mode or something..
Bumping this topic because I just recently was contacted by them to cover it a bit on my channel. Took a while to get it properly registered but I've been playing a ton and I love it. It obviously suffers from what lots of these games do and that is balanced matchmaking. When it's balanced and it's neck and neck, it's insanely fun. But when we're winning by a lot it gets boring, and losing by a lot, the same. All in all though, feels superbly polished and each character and class is fun to play I find. Do we know when it's planned to fully launch?
open beta next week
STOKED. I'm in, I guess. Machine's up to snuff now, so I'll be able to play this now.
The influx of fresh blood will incite much anger at us neck-beards with 100+ hours in the game.
Started playing it last Friday. Played my first tournament match against @ on Sunday. Got crushed. Excited to do it again. Loving this game, and hoping the community and esports scene grows substantially. Been practicing my Hunter game. Got a bolt thrower, and it is magnificent. Still trying to make grenade work, but explosive shot is so good for range.

I played the hell out of the Legacy of Kain games when i was younger and am so far im really enjoying this one. Since its a beta, is there eventually going to be an inventory wipe?
My anti-virus is detecting suspicous behaviour whenever i run nosgoth. Shouldn't be cause for any concern right?
this game is hella fun
Surprised this thread isn't more active. Summoner is out at some point today so that should be interesting. Favourite classes? Sentinel and Prophet for me, heavy pistols are great if you can aim.
