you don't have to do it though. the game is laid out differently than the other dirt games. the different disciplines are separate, you don't have to progress through rallycross or hill climb in order to progress through rally.

No, that's fine. I loved rallycross in the previous games. I just hated the stupid gymkhana challenges. I was even ok with the drift challenges.

I never finished the career in dirt3, I downloaded the ACAT(all cars all tracks) mod and jumped in and had fun. Gymkhana cars were the best on rally tracks

The Finland tracks in rally feel waaay too wide, same as they felt in dirt3. The normal gravel road where the rallies are done are about 2 cars wide, in dirt rally it's like they made the real life track but then shortened and widened it a lot
