Just poking my nose in here, but would it help if the cfg file was saved as read only? Or is that something that has been tried?
No, might have to use a D3D9 wrapper instead.
do you race with a wheel? and what camera do you race with?
I'm using a g27 and really not enjoying it, I've got it set to 270 degrees rotation in the profiler and my first issue is that I feel like I can't make the majority of turns because I don't have enough wheel lock, but setting it higher means that the in-game visual wheel and my own wheel are completely out of sync (I prefer using the in-game wheel as a visual reference, and when they're out of sync everything feels really offputting)
Second issue is the force feedback is literally terrible, like every other codemasters game ever - it's just random vibrations. You can visibly see the wheel ingame being thrown all over the place while your own wheel is completely still, which again is really offputting. There's definitely some feedback but it isn't correct from what I can tell
Honestly feeling like I've wasted £20 atm
Between this and you saying Assetto Corsa's FFB is "shitty" I have to wonder if your G27 is just broken
Between this and you saying Assetto Corsa's FFB is "shitty" I have to wonder if your G27 is just broken
if you think assetto corsa's force feedback is good then you're nutty
[editline]8th May 2015[/editline]
i didn't spend much time adjusting it as i'm generally just not a fan of assetto corsa and spend most of my sim time on iracing, but i found it to be inaccurate and far too strong
[editline]8th May 2015[/editline]
also there's a number of other people complaining about the ffb in dirt rally, and a hell of a lot of people complaining about the visual play in the in-game wheel (which only has 180 degrees of rotation so is utterly useless) and how it breaks immersion/is distracting etc

I agree with the visual in-game wheel not being right in Dirt Rally and the FFB could be better, I play mostly in Dash cam though as I find the FOV in head-cam much too high. But Assetto Corsa's FFB is much better than iRacing's and really it's the best FFB in any sim I've played and I've played my fair share. Not to mention that iRacing's physics have just been plain wrong for a good while now. I only haven't touched Pcars yet but I'm not hearing spectacular things. I do find that some cars in AC have it set a bit too strong but there is a slider in the pre-race setup that you can change specifically for the car so it's really no biggie.

honestly in my own experience, dirt 2 and 3 didn't really work too well with racing wheels either. you had to tinker with it a lot to get a good feedback on the controls. dirt 3 had better support but by the time i got to it i just opted to use an xbox controller
Dirt 3 was pretty playable and fun with a wheel but Dirt Rally's FFB is better, tells you more and makes more sense, even if it doesn't vibrate enough and is a bit too heavy.
that was the problem with dirt 2: every time the force feedback would wiggle the wheel it'd turn your tires too and make your car fly out of control

AC feedback is definitely better than Project Cars, and personally I find iRacing's FFB better
in terms of physics AC is very good, but it falls down in a lot of other places and my go to sims are still Race 07 /w expansions and iRacing

i'm staying up to watch the election results we can argue about this all night m8

The only place where I find AC falls down is crash physics; in real life and some sims like Rfactor it is possible to make contact without losing control. In AC, the tinyest bump on something like GT3 cars means instant loss of traction. That and it doesn't have night or rain if that's something that bothers you. But in terms of actual physics simulation and FFB nothing really tops AC.
The only credit I give iRacing is having a matchmaking/general online system that works pretty damn well, and other sims would do well to create something similar.

This game is hard.
So I just bought this game called Exanima 'cause I've been waiting for it for quite some time now. It's pretty different from other games in terms of controls and it's fighting mechanics, because everything is basically physics based.
In the game you wake up in a dungeon, only equipped with some basic clothes and a torch. Most enemies so far are some kind of zombies who also use weapons. So I was exploring and came to this wooden door. When I opened it, a zombie with an iron pipe whacked me in the face, I stumbled past him and quickly closed the door behind me, not realizing that this room was a fucking toilet. :v:

Don't mind the music, I've been listening to the Gauntlet Legends OST while playing.

Hey, I remember this game. I remember seeing like a big castle and the character teleporting around the castle whacking guards and shit. Or was it a different game?
Anyway, I think that's a pretty close representation of what it would look like if I was given a hammer and tossed into a dungeon filled with zombies. Except I would die to the first one. :v:

Okay... This is pretty creepy.
I know the weapon and clothing content in GTA:O isn't that good. But you got the exact same stuff as I do, from color and every single weapon attachment. The fuck you doing on my account.

Any tips? I still can kill that fucker
Any tips? I still can kill that fucker
Try to get used to blocking. You block by moving the cursor to the direction where the attack is coming from when facing the other guy. Also, get one of the 2h iron pipes from the room on the other side, the seemingly empty one with all the logs. Just drop your torch in the hall so you can see a little while fighting before opening the door and drawing the hatchet guy out. Then just do the overhead (double click and hold), it deals massive damage and has a great reach! Good luck!
I actually managed to defeat him that way.
[editline]8th May 2015[/editline]
Also, get used to using space to position the camera behind you during combat. It gets way easier once you don't have to awkwardly think about the proper movement keys once you rotated to much :v:

Thanks for the advice, I killed him. It's pretty satisfying.

Driveclub has to be one of the best LOOKING games that have come out to date. A shame that, STILL, The PS+ version isn't out, and probably won't ever be.

It's actually a lot of fun, but get ready for some frustration when learning how to control your character during combat.
I wouldn't mind it being frustrating because that kind of fighting system looks really dynamic and fun, how much game is there at the moment, how long would a playthrough take?
