the superior ursine armor is sick as hell. it's kind of weak though compared to other armors that you stumble across
Messing around swapping stuff into DiRT Rally. Made the C63 AMG and its sounds from GRID Autosport work because why not?

Each car in DiRT and GRID games has a 3 letter-name folder for its name, usually a kind of relevant name (example: the Peugeot 405 Pikes Peak's folder is just "405"). I went into the C63 folder for GRID, copied the "c63.nd2" and "xxx_highLOD.pssg" files, put them into the 405 folder and changed all references of "c63" to "405".
Then I went into the first livery folder for the C63 (usually like "livery_00" or "livery_01"), then to textures_high, took the two files from there, named something like "c63_tex_high_00" and "c63_tex_tm_high_00" (the "00" corresponds to the livery folder name, so if the folder is livery_42 then the textures will end with that too), and copied those files into the equivalent folder for the 405. You'll notice that in addition to a tex_tm_high (tm = tarmac) texture in the DiRT folder, it also has tex_wt_high (wet), tex_sn_high (snow) and tex_gr_high (gravel). Since the GRID liveries only have the tm version, just copy it and rename it to each variant (sn, wt, gr) so that you replace every texture.
Just a note, you'll need to change the numbers AND car name accordingly for the livery files. So if the 405's first livery folder is "livery_13" for example, all of those files like "c63_tex_high_00" will become "405_tex_high_13" for example. Once you've done all that, you can also copy the models for the interior as well if you like. The only files you NEED are "int_xxx.pssg", "int_xxx_driver_anims.pssg" and "int_xxx_anims.pssg". Hopefully all of that makes sense.
It seems to work with any car from DiRT 3, GRID 2 and GRID Autosport, and all of their animations (such as moving spoilers) all work. The only problem is certain ones have weird issues that I can't solve, like the Veyron has no wheels, and the Dallara Indycar won't steer for example.

Yup, just came out the other day. Currently has the Quattro, 205 and 405 Pikes Peak variants.
Cities: Skylines
I'm terrible at both planning ahead and traffic management, so what usually happens is I build a sprawling mess on one side, then when I unlock the good stuff, make a big and tidy successor further away. In particular, I should've planned for making a central volume of high-capacity roads so stuff can go from one end to the other quicker. Nevertheless, i'm not that unhappy with how my third town has developed; the people seem to be pleased enough with it.
The Motion Blur in Driveclub is filthy.
Only in extreme cases, like in that second shot.
That's absolutely not the fault of the motion blur technique, but the amount of samples used. The devs could easily have allowed a higher amount of samples, but that would mean longer time to fully generate a shot in the photo mode when it's usually not needed.
Ideally there should be a slider for manually setting the amount of samples.
The blur itself is frameblend motion blur, and that's far better than any real-time motion blur systems today as it takes into account not only the movement from one frame to the next, but all the sub-movements in between.

Video related, it uses the same kind of motion blur.

I wonder if we'll ever have blur this good in games, ever.
This is a game that needs no introduction.

I still have mixed feeling on Project CARS. I hated it at first, but it's growing me. How much I enjoy it seems to vary wildly depending on the car.
Force feedback was absolutely awful until I downloaded Jack Spade's FFB tweaks. It still seems to depend a lot on the car, but the good ones feel great.
Despite giving it a lot of shit earlier in the day, I just spent the past ~4 hours playing the game.

I feel like I've asked this before, but is there a racing game general somewhere?

I remember some game a while back having really nice looking motion blur on the tires of the vehicles (like open wheel vehicles, not hidden under the car) but generally I don't like motion blur in games where it blurs fucking everything on the screen. I just turn it off in every game. My eyes are not a camera so I don't want the game to make it look like I am watching a movie.

The Order 1886 and Ryse have some spectacular motion blur.

The nicest motion blur I've seen personally would probably be from the Motorstorm series, Gran Turismo 6, Forza Horizon 2, and PGR3/4.
They all have their problems though. Motorstorms blur the entire screen and end up looking like ghosting in extreme cases (but low speed looks great), Gran Turismo's is never seen in gameplay and kills the sense of speed, Horizon 2's makes certain thin objects translucent, and PGR3/4 look like they don't take enough samples.
Overall Horizon 2's is probably the best, because its main flaw can only be seen in screenshots, not in motion.
