A few clips from a random race I played online today in RaceRoom Racing Experience.
It was a DTM server, but with mixed classes so both the 2014 and 1992 cars were racing on the same track. Unfortunately this is a very new and unsupported feature. It doesn't sort race results by class, so I have no idea how I did against the 3-4 other 1992 cars on the track. I love the 1992 DTM cars and will take any excuse to drive them, even if it means sharing a track with cars 20 years newer.
Most of the footage is footage that was recorded live, but mixed with some stuff from replays because the sound in RaceRoom is unbelievably good.

I keep reading about this, but this doesn't work.
I can access the specific screenshot cameras like the ones that look like they're mounted on cars, but nothing I do gives me the free camera that everybody talks about.

Actually, I half take that back. I notice that with devcameras enabled, you can move the camera around more than usual, but it's still not the same thing as a free camera like the control list you give suggests. I'm still locked to the car, there's no mouse control whatsoever, and the camera motions are still based on the car as if moving the seat and it's all out of whack.
Maybe it's supposed to be this janky and I'm just spoiled by Assetto Corsa's and Forza's awesome photo modes.

SWTOR was pretty good in my books, just the end game was a bit lame. PvP was really not polished.
Kinda scared to go anywhere near it now that I have no friends, and don't know anyone who plays it.
That and the F2P model doesn't do much to attract me.
I haven't had that much fun with a MMORPG since Lineage II. That and SWTOR are the only MMORPGs I actually enjoyed. But yeah - the F2P model in it is brutal. Like... the worst of its kind. Screw paying for showable hatwear, I can get over it, but the XP decrease is pure bullshit and discrimination.
are the f2p restrictions still as super fucking ridiculously bad as they were when they first released it? I never played it after the various closed/open betas, but they were fun enough even though I only got to maybe level 15

They really aren't horrible. They charge you some credits to use some really good items and you receive slightly less XP for not being a sub after level 20./ however you get xp boosts from completely quests every now and then.

Yeah, general chat is only available on Origin worlds which is pretty bad. However the chat restrictions are lifted if you spend any money in the store.

Except its really not all about human interaction at all. Sure it is an MMO but even WoW these days isn't about human interaction. SWTOR is about experiencing a story and making a bad ass sci fi character.

except communicating with people in your party or raid is kind of, actually, really important for PvE or PvP.
