When is it going F2P? Any news about that yet?
Don't know if they've given a proper date yet, there'll a be a beta to test a lot of the changes and receive feedback on the transition sometime in the fall. I'd imagine it'll probably go full F2P sometime in the fall as well.

When is the Wild Star Closed Beta going to end? I really would like to play that, I applied for the beta but, I don't feel like playing for too long seeing as I guess they'll probably reset everything.

Basically, the game is an action horror but you are given a puny survival horror playable character, with the resources to match (as to say, few). Also, the beginning of the game leads you to believe that you are going to need stealth a lot, but the later levels have a tendency to put you in fights where the zombies are already onto you, so good fucking luck There are other frustrating features too: the bosses, for instance, are puzzle bosses with one-hit kill attacks they abuse at every chance they get I'm currently on chapter five and the plot is basically non existent: the only certain thing is that there is a strange guy with mind over matter power who likes to rewrite reality, but why does he do it? What is his past? Is there a greater picture I have to uncover? What's with the zombie? What's with the saving game hub? Who knows
Three nice things in life: getting drunk, swinging a 2-handed warhammer on (stolen) horseback, and consuming raw human flesh. Such is the life of Orc.
Funny part is, the whole "eating my enemies" thing is actually what bosmers do. Orcs are actually very advanced, hence their weapons doing more damage than most human weapons and their armor being very highly rated. Orcs have anger and a Hammurabi style system of justice, but given the brutal way they are treated and their whole daedric god being the "god of outcasts" they have to adjust to a harsh life by being harsh. I know this doesn't mean shit to your play through or anything, but it just seems youre under the impression that the orcs in the elder scrolls universe are like the stupid shit covered ones in other popular universes like LOTR. They would probably be a society more advanced than humans, if they could build up their nation, but the citizens of Hammerfell and High Rock know this, and like to snip them in the bud repeatedly by sacking their nation every few 50 years or so.
I decided I wanted to give Trove a try, see how good it is. This is as far as I've managed to get in 45 minutes: [thumb]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/626348717792463315/E193964219E78E3B41AB2FC8B1896A22F68A90CE/[/thumb] It took 45 minutes for the game to load beyond the "LS: User Acknowledgement Received" loading screen. I started it, waited a moment in a queue, put in a name, and then waited for 45 minutes. Not even an option to change any options so the stupid music would stop playing. My review so far? 10/10 the loading screens rock.
I've started playing the Evil Within I don't know if I'm going to keep going to because, as far as I'm concerned, this game appears to be incredibly frustrating (and I'm playing on the supposed normal difficulty, Survival)
keep it at. It's actually decent, it got a lot of hate because it wasn't RE4 and the whole black bars and locked FPS which are not really an issue as you can get around it.
Can we all just take a moment to think about how good F1 2015 looks (considering it's slightly buggy and lacks features from the previous games) I can't wait to do a night or a wet race to see how that looks, also I've got shadows on medium atm because the 2nd straight at Melbourne gets a bit laggy due to the overhanging trees casting shadows
I genuinely thought this was real for a second. I had to double check what thread I clicked.

that first one looks almost like a next gen game the repeat rocks close by are a dead giveaway though

Tried out the photo mode in Forza Motorsport 4 while i'm waiting for an actual working copy to arrive in the mail. [t]http://i.imgur.com/1P7fhwY.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/b0nt5vF.jpg[/t]
Started replaying Mirror's Edge AGAIN because I'm hyped as hell for Catalyst and 'cause it's one of my favorite games. It's funny how you can literally take a screenshot at any point in the game and it'll look nice. I wish it was possible to take photomode images on a modded console and have them direct to somewhere else, because all I can do on my modded copy is take ingame screenshots.

The shadows underneath the vehicle seem to be pre-calculated, probably calculated using that environment map (judging by it's softness and low-res-ness) The self shadowing seems to be a real in-game light source. Another thing worth noting is that it only does reflections on the glossy surfaces, and that it does not reflect itself. (No screen-space reflections) It looks really cool and realistic, but it is not a big technical feat. It's cleverly put together to mimic reality with the available hardware, and relies heavily on the cubemap reflections to do so.

The way the rubber is materialed and textured makes the tires "just look right" because of the nice bumpmapping and whatever else they have on them. Also the details of the cars. Like I said, it's still the photomode version of the model and not gameplay, but the fact that you can still move around the car in photomode (like in the camera mode before you take the image) and have it run at 30FPS or so is pretty impressive with the amount of polygons one of those cars is pushing.
pics
Is there no decent AA implementation in the game or are you hardware limited etc?
Is there no decent AA implementation in the game or are you hardware limited etc?
The only options are SMAA, TXAA, or both together The previous games had support for up to 16xQ CSAA but for whatever reason this doesn't, another thing is that the replay mode is locked to 30 fps which reeks of shitty console port to me (the rest of the graphics settings are plentiful though so it's strange) [editline]15th July 2015[/editline] I don't really have any issues with approximated forms of AA though, you don't see aliasing in motion and I quite like the slight blur/softening
