having an absolute blast with it too. performance seems pretty good for me with a 4gb gtx760. with everything high/on (besides vsync) i'm getting 38-50fps outdoors and 50-60fps indoors.
it does have some memory leak issues though
Wish I had the cash for it....I fucking loved Dead Island despite its many flaws

DEFINITELY pick this up then. If you loved Dead Island I don't know what you'll do with this.

I loved it too, but i gotta say, having watched some streams of it, i'm on the fence about the game, it has some really fucking weird/stiff animtions.

Dead Island isn't exactly the first thing that comes to mind when I think about excellent animation.

Better than Dead Islands anyway. At least the 3rd person walking animation doesn't look like you've got a tree strapped to your back. But to me anyway they're good enough to make the movement around the game feel smooth.
It's made by the same guy who made the Enhanced 4X mod, it's basically a crossover mod that mixes the original Sins factions with the Star War factions taking place after an Alternate Battle of Endor where a Coalition of the some of the Sins Factions called the Triple Alliance destroys the Death Star and kills the Emperor, but not Darth Vader, who succeeds him, but the Empire splinters into numerous warlords and some worlds secede and form the New Republic, which is separate from the Rebel Alliance.
It's currently only a beta with the Galactic Empire, Imperial Warlords, and the Sins factions being playable, but he's working on the Rebels and then eventually the New Republic, Mandalorians as a replacement for Pirates, and ETC. I think the guy who is making it is making it because he can really.
You can read the storyline here:

I personally think it would be kind of cool if somebody made a mini-mod that added the Clone War factions though.
Here's a video of somebody playing the mod with the creator, who discusses what he intends to do with the mod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7PWm28OIsE
You should keep an eye out on Star Wars: Ascendancy as well

Yeah, I'm in this same boat. Can't really afford too much, gotta save what little I have for other games. But Dyling Light looks surprisingly good and I did enjoy Dead Island quite a bit inspite of its problems.
When your mother told you to not play with your food, this is what she meant. If you've got an easy shot in DCS against a far superior plane, you should take it. Things never go as planned and sometimes DCS' wonderful netcode will make sure you pay for your mistakes.

i just went to video settings, and switched it to best performance.
game runs nice and smooth and doesn't look like shit.
Dunno about the other person who posted, but my textures were fine. Although, I'm not running max settings.
I can barely maintain stable 40 fps in this game.

You're exactly right to say that, but i mean, that also was four years ago.
I dunno, i just expected higher quality considering the hype/advertising around it. that and a £40 price tag.

Looks good in first person and that's all that matters. Dead Island is co-op though so there's no excuse there.
I've been debating getting a t500rs, wheel stand and a H-shifter but that's looking at around £550 or so, tempted to get it as I used my G25 a lot and was good at sim racing. I never played any iracing though, so may sub to it and get serious with this.
I got a G27 and I am immensely happy with it. Never had a wheel before though so I can't really compare it to anything but a 360 controller for racing. But yeah, it is a lot of fun. iRacing is the game I play the most these days. Which is funny considering the fact that I never played racing games a whole lot beyond the Dirt series.

Dead Island uses a different animation set for other players, it's even explained in the video. It doesn't actually look anything like that.
You can see the weird spaghetti arms on your own shadow though :v:

that's why you never fight russians (who are literally from russia)
Dying Light is what I wanted from Dead Island, I like the atmosphere a lot. The free running definitely makes being chased a lot more tense and engaging which is what I rarely see in zombie games unfortunately.
Yeah but if you make the Speed Booster you can outrun everything that exists, night time becomes a fucking cake walk when using Speed.

The dx11 snow tessellation is awesome. I instantly knew this guy's patrol pattern because of it. Also, you can see what happened to him just by looking at the snow.
Been playing a bunch of SSX 3 in Dolphin, man this emulator has improved a bunch since I last used it, the game runs pretty much flawlessly which is amazing since SSX 3 is super hype.

I'd kill for a PC port of SSX 3 with online multiplayer, shame it'll probably never happen since I imagine dealing with all the licensing for the songs and such would probably be too much a hassle, among other things.
If nothing else I'd want another SSX game with the ability to free-ride down the entire mountain without any loading screens, the open-world nature of SSX 3 and On Tour are the main reasons those two are my favorites in the series, there's nothing like making a playlist of my favorite songs and going from the very top to the very bottom all in one go.
[del]Also Elise is the best I don't care what you say[/del]

Dying Light is the first game I've come across that has a skill tree where none of the skills seem useless
