So I got into playing Rimworld
A quick intro to some of my characters.
Py: If I had to pin a leader of these colonies, it would be Py. She has the highest social stats and she has been able to communicate with passing ships and coordinate supply drops. Everything from weapons, armor and other necessities that came from above came thanks to her. She is also an excellent nurse and a cook and has performed countless operations and triage for the settlers.
Barron: The genius of the colony. He is the sole researcher and he is also an excellent craftsman and smith. Barron is also a very capable fighter. Despite the risks using the only scientist as a rifleman, Barron has continuously fought in defense of the settlement. He has been recently maimed with his left foot blown off.
McKinney: A former raider that has been convinced by Py to join the colony. McKinney is a fighter at heart and has proven himself as an incredible hunter and an excellent builder. A majority of the structure seen in the image has been built by McKinney. However he has sustained multiple wounds and had his right arm blown off in a skirmish. He has also suffered brain damage from one of his wounds and combined with his aging, he is no longer able to go out on patrol and his colony duties have been eased. McKinney was also the first patient to undergo a successful operation in the colony, receiving a bionic arm.
Strapping: The only nudist in the colony, Strapping works the fields and grows the crops that are vital for the colony's survival. He is also a very excellent brawler and at times has hunted down boars in the nude. Along with McKinney, he helped build the colony from the ground up. Strapping also has decent nursing skills and helps with the wounded whenever he isn't suffering from hog scratches.
Tewi: Tewi's the Jack of All in the colony, usually seen doing the odds and ends and helping out the others. She has been proving herself an able rifleman in recent skirmishes with enemies.
Cross: Rescued by the colonists, Cross was being pursued by hostile tribesmen. The colonists were able to fend off the tribe and shelter Cross, since then she has remained loyal to the colony. Cross is another excellent healer and helps Py with triage and operations.
Fay: She is the second prisoner that was convinced by Py to join the colony. She has a bionic leg and she is the fastest of them all. A very able brawler, she has proven herself as a fast and agile hunter and attacker.
Just recently the colony has arranged to have three slaves be delivered. The colonists have been doing whatever they can to accommodate them to their new lives and they have proven themselves in a recent siege against raiders.
I've been playing some WINSPWW2 (Steel Panthers but updated to run on windows) and after a few million fucking years I think I understand the rudimentary basics of this overly complicated mess, so I decided to do a 100 battle campaign as Japan starting in 1937

The initial fighting was mostly just our horrible tanks blowing eachother up, the Chinese tanks were a mix of British and German lend-lease with some captured Japanese tanks as well. This fucking wasteland is just one part of a huge battlefield of garbage that was thrown at each other until there was no garbage left to throw.

My glorious Japanese troops are winning the battle pretty handily in the North and central parts of the battlefield, but the south is giving me some real trouble as the fucking Chinese just keep shelling my troops.
Overall this fucking one battle has taken several god damn weeks of off and on playing and I'm just over halfway done with it please help me

They are all in their weird formats, not sure which are which either.
HL2 mod called Resistance & Liberation (RnL). Some screenshots from a weekly realism event, where team leaders and such lead their squads.
It's unique in terms of gameplay, and wipes the floor with other shooters striving for realistic combat. 3D voice chat helps.

Yesterday my Kotor replay experience has ended abruptly due to a mysterious bug
At a certain point in the game [sp]your ship is captured by the Sith flagship and your PC is taken prisoner along with Carth and Bastila[/sp]. The problem is this: after a cutscene I'm supposed to find myself in the new level, but instead my PC is put in the Ebon Hawk with all the companions areound the central room. I don't have any mean to abandon the ship and conversing with my companions doesn't push things forward
There is no record around the Web about how to solve this bug. The only solution that could work is using cheat codes to warp my party in the [sp]Leviathan[/sp] directly, but of course (a) that could break the game and I'd find myself stuck anyway (b) I never managed to make cheats work in this game
This is very annoying, but I'm hearing that a remastered version of Kotor is in the works, so we could call this a fateful intervention

You really have to try it to find out. I frequently play arma and this, and the gameplay is very different. PvP works far better. Obviously it's smaller scale, though. As said previously it's at its best during organized games. Realisms are held atleast every friday, there may be more these days.

I played RnL a bunch back in the day, but when I installed it a year ago, it only had one server with a few people playing. Maybe I'll keep it installed and keep an eye on the group.
When I want realistic shooters I play Project Reality. If you haven't played, it's a mod for BF2 and it's certainly very realistic. The only down side is sometimes I don't really feel like voice-chatting, which is almost an absolute necessity to get anything productive done at all in PR.

PR can be very hard to get into. I don't find it to be the most welcoming game.
Speaking of BF2 mods, FH2 is still around. Hopefully the future eastern front update will breath in some new life to it.

I think that's because most shooters nowadays don't have mod support
Been playing RAGE, it's beautiful but looking back at the screenshots I took sometimes there is a low res texture somewhere in the scene.
