I just know it's one of those games where it was really fun to fire off a couple shots and reload the pistol just because the reload sound/animation was neat.
Like Day of Defeat but not Day of Defeat.
cod 4 I think.
maybe MW2
actually it's none of those two, I've checked.
I'm definitely getting more of a Source vibe from it

I'll have to disagree with you, I can't think of any source game with that sound effect.

Yeah you're right.

I'm just trying to think of games that rely more on snappier stock sounds than echo-y ones

It's Far Cry 2's 1911 I think: (first weapons shown don't worry no Onion Guy here)
Thanks, I had the install order right from the readmes, but didn't know they were just incompatible anyway. Which pack has the most content right now?
AO3 has the most content (I think), but it's of varying degrees of quality. OWR iirc doesn't add content, it just adjusts and updates the vanilla guns. I honestly don't remember much about STCWP; I haven't played it myself, and it's not as popular as AO3 or OWR. Quality control aside, I use AO3, and I'm pretty sure most CoC players do. I'd say try AO3, and if you find the quality subpar, go for OWR.
OH FUCK! IT'S HERE! IT FINALLY CAME OUT! http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl

Glad I waited.
Awww yeh, I won't have to make 100% of my posts in this thread be "waiting on coc release lol"
Awww yeh, I won't have to make 100% of my posts in this thread be "waiting on coc release lol"
waiting on coc + arsenal release lol
Is CoC worth playing now or should I just wait for extra tasks/bug fixes to come out.
Some people were saying that there's not much to do in it.

woof wheres coc?
So CoC is officially released? How different is it compared to the leaked version?
I haven't played it yet, but the full version has that entirely new map, vehicle graveyard, fully finished, and I'm sure is waay more stable
I'm sure there's more improvements and such over the leak, though I'm also curious to hear from someone who's played both
EDIT:
Okay watching the old preview video for the vehicle graveyard map gets me pretty hyped, it's way bigger than i thought

According to /sg/:
Better AI
Less Bugs
Truck Cemetery
Reusable consumables
NPCs can capture territory
I haven't seen any readme yet, though.

Capture territory you say? The one thing I loved about TFW for Clear Sky was that I could effectively control most of the zone with my faction. The downside was that after completing a takeover there's so many friendlies that there is no real danger in the game anymore aside from random mutants.
I'll be sure to check it out though after there's an AO3 merge and maybe an official patch for it.
Reading /SG/, it seems Labs are empty and undergrounds are devoid of life in CoC release.
Just like in the leak. I only visited X-16 so far in my CoC playthrough and at every corner I anticipated something terrifying to jump out at me. A bit disappointing to have empty labs in what they call a full release though. I hope they rectify the situation with a patch or something.
Bear in mind the whole "modders resource" thing, it perhaps isn't a surprise that the X-Labs are empty.

I'm pretty sure they leave the labs intentionally empty to better serve the purpose of a modder's resource; I don't think they'll ever fill it.
Do you still need to tweak/remove the helicopters in the release to not be deathmachines? There's no more scripts folder from what I see or it's hidden somewhere.
Also I wish someone gets to it fast, while I'm fine with it being a modder's resource, it's also supposed to be a sandbox and empty labs are sad.

I can't speak for the damage they do, but on the moddb they mentioned that helicopters are significantly less resilient now. (also you can disable their engine noise)
fuck finally I can go back to stalker

Yea, they did made some changes to the helicopter. Here's what the readme says.
Helicopters have been nerfed and there is now a game option to disable the helicopter engine sounds. They now have less accuracy, take more damage from normal fire_wound type damage and no longer engage enemies more then 300m. This should make them more enjoyable to engage and allow them to continue to serve their purpose which is strengthening the military and monolith factions. Helicopters are intended to create risk and suspense in some locations to force the player to make a conscious decision to either engage, avoid these areas or approach during nightfall/heavy weather.
Can a military heli engage a monolith heli?
That would be rad
Congrats on the full release, CoC team!
Can AtmosFEAR work with it? Wanting to go into this full visual junkie after not playing CoP for years.
I know absolutely nothing about modding Stalker games, would adding mutants somewhere be difficult? Could I add some life to undergrounds/labs myself?

With CoC? it's integrated
fuck finally I can go back to stalker
Feels like its been forever since a mod came out :v:
Why the hell is CoC crashing at launch yelling about missing xrParticles.dll?
Feels like its been forever since a mod came out :v:
Not to be contrarian, but it's barely even been a week since Конец Света 2 released.
OK, totally to be contrarian.
