will post here again when I go live
Ok, about to go live. Had to cancel the compile as it was over 15 hours, and it uses all my PC's resources. Tune into the stream for super secrit Wormwood level design

I never understood the hate for CS, i think its pretty underrated. And with TFW mod, its the best freeplay setting in the series.
I don't hate CoC either. I think its pretty amazing, but it needs to come a long way.
Also why i can't rate posts anymore ?
So, why don't you just play CS with TFW then ? ;)
Because it's buggy, poorly supported, runs worse than CoC, and the balance is FUBAR. Invulnerable bloodsuckers can fuck right off.
It also has less maps and worse weapon customization.

CoC has already come a long way. It's a merge of the entire game world across all 3 games with fully xrAI'd maps. That's already massive, for modders, and indeed quite a few players. Mods that add maps tend to be poorly implemented and have little to no AI, with no smarts. CoC is one of the very few mods that cared about creating a solid, stable base for modders to work with.
I'm just excited for modders to start creating beautiful things.

What weapon mod is that?

It's alright to play through but I just can't get over how linear it is over SoC and CoP and how underwhelming the Faction Wars are in Vanilla.

Dont forget the forced quests / tasks. GOD, how they annoyed me. I still remember my first 5 minutes of CS. Spawn, cheesy monologue, get handed 5 or 6 tasks, look around the camp for any loot ...
Whoops you failed 3 /5 quests!

I dunno about you but Call of Pripyat's bloodsuckers piss me off just because they like to get behind you and can actually go full invisible for a while.
Also Call of Chernobyl making mutant variants, I was very surprised to see a 8-9 foot tall bloodsucker attack the rookie village.

Last night in CoC I got royally spooked by a black chimera accompanied by two bloodsuckers near the gas station in Zaton. Terrifying! What isn't terrifying are the juvenile/fledgling mutant variants. There's just very little that is intimidating about a manlet-sized bloodsucker.
In other CoC news, I went to explore Pripyat and the CNPP after turning off the brain scorcher. After depositing a bunch of loot in Pripyat, I headed up to the CNPP. Having cleared out the front/southern side, I rounded the plant to explore the northern section. Imagine my surprise when, as I was gaping at the looming edifice of the CNPP, a blowout started happening! For all the STALKER I've played over the years it was such a surreal moment to experience nearly the exact circumstances that Strelok faced prior to the events of SoC. Also, CNPP is such a nice pair of maps, it's too bad they weren't utilized more in the official games.

Come think about it.
SHOC Maps were pretty wasted. Like, they created a lot of places and areas that can have some background to them or history, but yet decided due to time constraints to leave them empty or fill in some enemies.
Some modder should put stashes or loot with history/Text fragments around or some dynamic situations ala CoP (The two guys who are checking out the burner anomaly and one of them falls injured).
Dark Valley and Garbage are the worst offenders.

Probably AO3. The one-handed PP2000 is a good indicator.
Exploring the CNPP in CoC is fucking dope. I didn't appreciate it all that much before without free roam but now that it's there I'm nearly obsessed with it. On top of that, all the visual tweaks they employed (it's Atmosfear in CoC right?) make the map look really nice. I took a bunch of screencaps, then realized they look like ass without AA, so I'll just post my favorite one:

Can I turn off lens flare somehow? And is there a keyboard or console shortcut for removing the HUD/overlay?
iirc SoC without patches also had no fps cap on the main menu
this meant that the menu would be running at like some ridiculously high fps and if you left it on long enough then it melted a hole in your computer
that still happens
If I leave the menu open on SoC for a long time and I come back to it, my laptop will be running ridiculously hot and the gameplay will be at like 5 fps

g_hud_draw on or off respectively.
Wait, so what modifications are out there already for CoC, I see people using all these weapons that I don't see in the game. Is it possible to add things like Gunslinger and others ontop of CoC? And if so, how?

Well, not Gunslinger, since that's not out yet.

I'm a loser and just use my tweaked version of SRAP2 for CoC :v:
I don't like the fucky weapon balance in the weapon mods available for CoC. I like having performance variety in my guns.
[editline]13th October 2015[/editline]
The fact that every gun in OWR3 is pinpoint accurate bothers me.
[editline]13th October 2015[/editline]
Sure, it's realistic, but it's not really fun (for me). Makes all guns feel the same, or it makes some lower-tier guns comically overpowered for their price and what have you.
How do i PM somebody on the GSC forums?
All i see is a button to email them, is there literally no PM option?
i forget, will call of chernobyl have co-op? or is it just a sp mod?
i forget, will call of chernobyl have co-op? or is it just a sp mod?
It's just singleplayer. You are probably thinking of Ray of Hope.
Just imagine Call of Chernobyl merged with Gunslinger and Ray of Hope
Hey, can someone give me a list of nicknames used in the games? Specifically in English, because Russian sources are incomplete if anything.
I know most people are against combat music in stalker here, but how would you guys feel about a minimod for Call of Chernobyl that adds in the trailer and early build music as combat tracks?
Stuff like this

Along with some skyboxes from SoC/early builds?

I had a good chuckle when they thought that one up
