I'm ecxited for gunslinger, but i'm kind of worried about how it won't be compatible with anything ever. Vanilla is pretty boring after all those mods, amazing weapons or no

it's not, they use modified bins but not through the source which means it's impossible :(

I used to have a GP-5 for shits and giggles. My dad used to be a conscript and was a part of some chemical warfare units, sealed APC's and shit. He showed me that you pop your chin in first and the rest of it should snap in place around your head. What was a pain in the ass now takes less than a couple of seconds. Back then you had to learn to do it quickly because that could've potentially been the difference between life or death.
If nothing can be done with Gunslinger and it turns out to be cool weapons but a vanilla game I won't even bother with it. It'll be cool to play with the new weapons and animations but after 20 minutes it'll be the same boring game I've played dozens of times. If it gets integrated into COC or something then I'd be more interested.
There's no utterly confusing and probably ineffective set of army hazard equipment like the Yugoslavian NBC suit. Ours is still sealed except the stupid huge latex gloves laced with baby powder.

yeah imo it's kind of pointless to make a mod if you aren't going to overhaul everything
gunslinger looks great but with the stock stalker gameplay and questline it'll still be boring as shit to play with. i'd much rather see it integrated with coc so you can use it while laying siege to another faction's base

I can't remember if I put it on correctly, but I do remember the rubber pulling my hair. Which did not feel all that nice.
gasmasks are meant to be worn by military, police, firefighters, etc. -- people who have their hair buzzed down to the scalp. there's tons of gasmasks and helmets that will get your hair caught in to them

Sometimes it feels that bugs like Ashot's floataway were programmed intentionally in the game.
Seriously it's such a delicate engine that I'm amazed they can fuck up that much without the thing just stopping and shitting itself. The fact that every bug results in stupid(ly hilarious) stuff happening only makes their presence more intriguing.
Bugs can either be the annoying kind or the hilarious kind.

Yeah. Wonder if the mask has to deform when being put on to get a convincing animation and if that's hard to do well.
I just integrated Smurth's cool gasmask on and off sounds into AMK Autumn Edition and it's a really immersive effect, especially when coupled with his other idea of having item use remove a mask if active (which I'm simulating visually in SoC, no real helmet to remove). It'd have been neat to have real animations to go over that.

TBH it seems like it crashes when an AI decides he wants to take a weapon I have on me but can't do it because I'm the player, although that's just a wild guess based on when it crashed. It's just a hunch really
Are there any mods that have custom hotkeys in engine-level gui? I kind of figured this out by accident but I'm curious if it's actually new or I've just been living under a rock.
