It's been sometime since I posted here, some new screens from the Lost World Team to share, two of the Full map of Pripyat, a new mutant and new model for dogs.

Did any big mod come out in 2015? For any of the STALKER games

Call of Chernobyl I believe is the only major one (I haven't been following too closely).
There were at least 30 substantial Russian overhauls released in 2015.
I have a quick question for you guys.
Do you think STALKER would work in a multiplayer setting where you wander around the zone doing quests and stuff, join factions, hunt artifacts, all while other players do the same things around you?

Sounds pretty much like what The Division is supposed to be. If there was a game like that but based on STALKER I would totally play it.

Given how much fun I had playing the RoH stress-test in what was basically nothing more than faction-pvp on a massive combined STALKER map I'd say very much yes.

It's a bad game that can be a good game if you play it right.

So can I go in with a friend, find a hill, chill and snipe zombies?
Wouldn't you guys worry about the other players breaking immersion/ruining roleplay?
If that's what floats your boat, sure. There are no armed zombies like STALKER though, just zombie zombies.
So apparently someone managed to build SoC's Xray as a 64-bit executable:

Maybe a little bit, but it'll happen regardless so eh.
As long as it's not completely PvP like DayZ ends up being, I'd love it.

That's one of the few things it manages to do better than the actual games, given how stupid huge and open the maps are.

I think this would work if the world was about the size of SoC/CS/CoP combined and each dedicated server had a maximum of, say, 60-120 active accounts. Anymore than that and I think it would kill the STALKER vibe.
This might sound like heresy (and a total pipedream) but if a STALKER MMORPG were made, I'd prefer a completely fresh start, with no factions or settlements in the Zone at all, aside from having the military as a shared, common enemy and a few neutral areas just outside the zone with NPC traders, artifact buyers, weapons dealers, quest-givers, etc. With the premise being that you enter the Zone as a neutral rookie and decide who you wanna be from there, occasionally venturing back to sell your loot and upgrade your loadout. Leave it up to the players to establish settlements, create or join factions, form alliances, or even completely annihilate other factions by capturing all their territory. That is proper faction warfare. It would allow for a more fluid Zone, with each server writing its own unique history separate from the original canon. As the Zone expands, settlements are formed, and factions are created, faction leaders can "petition" the NPC traders (or, if it couldn't be automated, the devs) to form new trade networks within the Zone, by spawning traders at their camps. With the drawback being that they won't pay as much for your loot as the traders outside the Zone would.
To keep things interesting, there could be a Zone AI that reacts to developments within the Zone, similar to the Director in L4D by concept only. Or, alternatively, the devs themselves could do this. Things like announcing an enormous mutant wave or military attack threatening an entire settlement ahead of time (allowing players and factions time to react), Zone-altering blowouts, seeding of unique 1-of-a-kind artifacts as server-wide quests with precious few clues that can only be completed by 1 person, establishment of huge mutant lairs like the bloodsuckers in CoP, and so on. And maybe, once a year or so, a complete reset of the server in the guise of a massive blowout.
I think if the game were made with the preset existing factions, there would be too much pressure on the part of the devs to treat them in a manner similar to WoW, where nothing ever really happens beyond PvP. Who really wants to see the complete death of Freedom or Duty or Bandits or the Monolith? But, faction warfare would be rather pointless without the ability to completely destroy an opposing faction, don't you think? And if that were the case in such a STALKER MMORPG, would the option to join that faction be grayed out for a new player? Or would they go into a sort of "guerilla" mode? I guess that could work but I don't think it would be as fun as just having dynamic faction creation/destruction. That's just my opinion.

Anyone know if they have the source code for this x64 1.0006 posted anywhere? Or can ask this guy?

Awesome, thanks. I can't believe they got the third party libraries to compile for x64. That's mainly the problem with converting X-Ray to x64 is because these libraries are so old and discontinued that x64 libs don't exist.
I'm willing to bet it's probably hacked to shit :v:

Worth noting that the same guy made an issue for it in OpenXray:
