this is how i managed to clear that checkpoint area in the jupiter section of call of pripyat, they were all crouched and i just started blasting them with my shotgun.

Don't agree that it tanked bleeding and radiation up to the degree he describes. He's definitely not playing well enough if it's such a massive hindrance.

Except when the mod balances it so it's eye for an eye which is exactly what Redux did and IMO did it better than any mod out there. You can definitely take a few hits in Redux with decent equipment.
It's really problematic when people present these things as if they've played something inside out when realistically they've done maybe 2/3 hours tops.

Yes going from a mod where you have to actually think about your aiming and compensate (even though most decent mid-late game weapons aren't bad at all) to a mod where every gun has practically no recoil or spread.

So, I finally did it. After five years of continously trying, and failing, to complete STALKER: SoC I finally manned up and did it... Vanilla version, ofcourse.
I now truly feel like a proper badass of the zone.
Also, does anyone in here have any backups of the stalker comics made by facepunch members, the ones linked to in the OP? I want to see them again, but it seems that they are all gone.

Raiskauskone put his comics in an Imgur gallery, but I don't know the link. He seems to go around /sg/ on and off, and if you ask the people there, they might post his comics. Crisis comics, I don't know.

The blowout covers are fairly spotty and at times inconsistent. The system works, but figuring out the places takes some trial and error, which everyone may not agree with.

Politics are not related to Stalker. And it causes gigantic shitstorms out of nothing.
And having shots of abandoned/ruined Stalker-like surroundings is not and excuse to post it here.
And I wasn't talking about Lithuania. The whole Russia-Ukraine thing is getting out of hands.
It's not politics, it's the lives of people in Ukraine, a country a lot of us feel very close to. Seeing ruined buildings is not the reason I follow the conflict, that's for sure.

I played 3 matches, didn't figure out how to collect artifacts (and what for) because I am a pleb and have no armor. Got a lot of kills though. Just spray and pray PPSH wrecks shit.
The game feels like a 2007 shooter that mutated microtransactions. I admit it's somewhat fun, but MUH STALKER MMO DREAMS WERE CRUSHED and nothing can repair my soul now.

You need equipment that has artifact containers to pick them up
