Leaked early STALKER2 GDD http://s.gameru.net/stalker/cop/some_docs.7z

Wow, that is a lot of text. Well...I can sum up some facts from the forum posts. The game was/is supposed to have: -Three-dimensional anomalies (instead of flat ones) -Corporations behind the zone's factions (?!) -The ability to create your own faction + diplomacy -Transportation such as APCs and Helicopters -Camouflage upgrades for transport and gear -Talking through PDA's. Radio channels which have frequencies. Shortened lore: Something unknown is building a device capable of syphoning power from the Noosphere (with player deciding whether to destroy it or finish it). The c-consciousness scientists were controlled by the Noosphere all this time, and it wants access to the physical world. The player can also assist the Noosphere and help it soak into the world, or stop it from being able to access it. Another shortened lore (wow, these design documents seem to conflict a lot!): The protagonist is a former stalker who left the zone 10 years (!) ago. He arrives to the research institute where Strelok resides as the research assistant, the protagonists meets Strelok and requests official access to the zone. Strelok is killed shortly after, and the protagonists is the main suspect, so he escapes to the zone and tries to find out who killed Strelok and why. There are also discussions on another lore aspect called the "Zone illness", it's some sort of Zone-unique disease which is slowly killing stalkers and makes mutants more savage. There is another supposed plot line about curing this disease. Also, Strelok's full name is Streletskiy Pavel Konstantinovich.
Is there any Clear Sky mods that add new levels?
you could play REBORN but only play it if you're willing to endure endless pain and toil
you could play REBORN but only play it if you're willing to endure endless pain and toil
As shitty as REBORN is, I'd say that it is definitely a mod worth trying, in the same way People Soup is worth trying. A fucking shitty but hilarious experience is something that everyone needs to go through [editline]11th June 2015[/editline] I'm not saying that just because I endured making two videos on it, I really mean it

some of that sounds pretty neat [editline]11th June 2015[/editline] strelok = straletskiy though, really?
Ah fuck it. Since I was 13 and played STALKER for the first time, I always dreamt about having the option to make your own faction with your own base and negotiate with the others factions, wage war, buy stuff for your people. I just wanted a Stalker-SIM. Thank you, you russian/ukranian prick producer. No, Clear Sky mods don't count.
faction simulator would be fun manage resources and stalkers, send them on raids that are randomly generated, etc
Corporations behind the zone's factions (?!)
I don't see this being so strange, corporations being as powerful as they are now would certainly hire individual stalkers or merc groups to get shit from the zone (as they would lobby the Ukrainian and Belarussian governments hard for increased access). Plus, the game would be taking place ten years in the future so the corps probably got even more powerful with all the Zone-tech.
someone translated the map [t]https://d.maxfile.ro/zhzcvmxtci.jpg[/t] some of those things sound amazing
Does this mean STALKER 2 is being worked or is it just leaked shit from the development that'll never see the light of day again?
Lol looks like duty has problems with snorks
Does this mean STALKER 2 is being worked or is it just leaked shit from the development that'll never see the light of day again?
Maybe one day my friend But don't hold your breath, otherwise [sp]you die[/sp]
Has anyone seen Lost World Origin? I haven't heard anything about it, looks pretty tame for a Russian mod.
What exactly does it mean when you get a bugtrap for Arguments : Can't open section 'x' Is it saying the file isn't there? Or a syntax error? EDIT: I see automerge no longer works :v:

Just got back into CoP after 3-4 years of not playing. Oh, the memories. So, aside from the obvious shit with Stalker 2 being cancelled, Way of the Wolf dying stillborn and the rest of that stuff, what's changed? I heard Lost Alpha finally came out, is it any good? [editline]12th June 2015[/editline]

FUCK I FORGOT HOW MUCH I HATE THOSE BASTARDS AAAARRRRGH Probably the only game series to give me this strong of a fear reaction.

Did my first video review, constructive criticism is more than welcome
I liked it, it flows well together, brings up your points clearly and doesn't drag on too long. The only gripe I have is your voice is monotone, some people may not enjoy it for that reason.

I didn't really want to be one of those "HEY WHAT'S UP GUYS, MY NAME IS WACKYSTALKER AND TODAY WE'RE CRUISING IN LOST ALPHA, DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE" youtubers. Just got to keep on practicing and reviewing, I guess!
Playing sky anomaly for call of pripyat and I keep crashing with this message
Expression : !m_error_code Function : raii_guard::~raii_guard File : D:\prog_repository\sources\trunk\xrServerEntities\script_storage.cpp Line : 748 Description : ...ker call of pripyat\gamedata\scripts\ars_news.script:918: attempt to call method 'community' (a nil value)
Does anyone know how to fix this [editline]12th June 2015[/editline] It looks like the line(s) its talking about are
if IsStalker(s_obj) and s_obj.id~=db.actor:id() and s_obj:community()~="zombied" and s_obj:community()~="monolith" then table.insert(stalkers,kk) elseif IsMonster(s_obj) or s_obj:community()=="zombied" then on_spawn(s_obj) end
I don't know any code so I don't really know what all of this means
Man looking at those map plans make me miss Stalker 2 even more.
-Three-dimensional anomalies (instead of flat ones)
So this means that anomalies vary in size? Anomaly areas can be vertical?
-Corporations behind the zone's factions (?!)
Actually this isn't really that surprising. In ShoC in random conversations Stalkers will talk about how Duty was supplied by some benefactor, army or otherwise. And obviously other factions like the Mercs are definitely backed by some foreign agency.
-The ability to create your own faction + diplomacy
This sounds really really cool! Almost like how the faction wars should've been in Clear Sky but running your own.
-Transportation such as APCs and Helicopters
I'm wondering how flying a helicopter would even work in Stalker. I'm sure there's also aerial anomalies that would screw you over.
-Talking through PDA's. Radio channels which have frequencies.
This sounds like a neat idea. I imagine it'd be definitely useful for the faction stuff by giving commands to your squads over radio.
Something unknown is building a device capable of syphoning power from the Noosphere (with player deciding whether to destroy it or finish it). The c-consciousness scientists were controlled by the Noosphere all this time, and it wants access to the physical world. The player can also assist the Noosphere and help it soak into the world, or stop it from being able to access it.
I find this kind of strange because I thought the Noosphere was just a conglomeration of all living beings' thoughts and wasn't in any way sentient? And it kind of ruins the whole 'mankind wanted more power and in doing so royally screwed up and created the Zone' when the Noosphere itself is controlling them in the first place. :v: I guess it was just WIP anyway.
The protagonist is a former stalker who left the zone 10 years (!) ago.
I find this a lot better than playing as Strelok again like I've heard in previous GSC docs because it opens up more to having a blank slate to play as. Not that I mind having a backstory, I just like to self-insert as some average dude trying to make a living in the Zone.
He arrives to the research institute where Strelok resides as the research assistant, the protagonists meets Strelok and requests official access to the zone. Strelok is killed shortly after, and the protagonists is the main suspect, so he escapes to the zone and tries to find out who killed Strelok and why.
I kinda like this. Gives the protagonist more of a reason to look into the stuff happening to clear his name. I remember reading on some article that there was a faction of super-secret scientists separate from the Ecologists who were trying to uncover more secrets about the Zone, so I guess they'd play a part in this?
There are also discussions on another lore aspect called the "Zone illness", it's some sort of Zone-unique disease which is slowly killing stalkers and makes mutants more savage. There is another supposed plot line about curing this disease.
Cool I suppose. Wasn't there an idea that there was some special anomaly in the early ShoC design documents that coated Stalkers in spores and slowly took over their mind like some mushroom? It also mummified them, so that's why in ShoC you can see skeletal mummies occasionally indoors.
Also, Strelok's full name is Streletskiy Pavel Konstantinovich.
Pffffff
I find this kind of strange because I thought the Noosphere was just a conglomeration of all living beings' thoughts and wasn't in any way sentient? The Zone is pretty much a tiny, localized warpstorm. Mutants are warpspawn, anomalies are random warp eddies, and artifacts are items that have been altered by the warp. Dunno about daemons. Maybe Tzeentch and friends have a monopoly on the whole Chernobyl show, and they're playing their cards close to vest? Strelok is secretly [sp]The Emperor[/sp] in disguise.
The cancelling of STALKER 2 is still the most depressing video related thing for me
I keep going back to the Stalker 2 translated annotated map, it's mesmerizing can someone please try translating the other documents in that leak?
I keep going back to the Stalker 2 translated annotated map, it's mesmerizing can someone please try translating the other documents in that leak?
I did a google translate of a few documents, one is about anomalies and another is about mutants. The mutant one is a spreadsheet so I can't pastebin it but inside there are 4 new mutants, one sounds like the izlom that was cut from shadow of chernobyl, something called a "rat wolf", something called a "loudmouth", and a bear. The mutant file if you want to try yourself is called Mutants(Conrack).xlsx

I put a couple of docs through Google translate and it's kind of confirming some of my ideas earlier. Apparently at the end of Call of Pripyat, Strelok started working as a scientific advisor for an organization called NIICHAZ (which like I was talking about before was the secret scientists trying to uncover more information about the Zone). He started to suspect their actions: which were to control all aspects of artifacts coming out of the Zone, making a constant reliable source of profit, while probably forcing stalkers to work for them or just have their own men do all the artifact gathering. The security chief of NIICHAZ is responsible for at least part of this conspiracy and has Strelok silenced while conveniently also pinning the blame on the protagonist. At some point I think(?) that your character is discovered to know too much digging through a secret lab and NIICHAZ starts sending squads to kill you? Also Doctor and barman are still there, and they regularly communicated with Strelok before he was executed. So I'd guess that you would get your quests to dig for documents in secret labs from them, with their partial knowledge of what Strelok was suspecting. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/qFe7k48.jpg?1[/img_thumb] Here's some concept art of NIICHAZ employees/ the main baddie?
