Damnit. I had a near perfect run through of CoP just now. 200K Rubles, every suit, every weapon fully upgraded, man of balance, diplomat and everything... And I forgot to do the "One shot" mission before I started the evacuation. fml. I forgot how much easier CoP is than the other two. I never really felt like I was hurting for any supplies the entire game and I pretty much used the Abakan all the way up to Pripyat. Also I forgot how yucky CoP looks. Why does Clear Sky look so much better? So I asked this here before and a Facepuncher gave me an awesome detailed answer that I lost track of before I got to do anything with the info. What's the best mods? I'm mainly interested in Clear Sky and CoP since I've never really modded CoP. Is MISERY bad? Cause I've heard it's bad. I want something that adds new weapons/models/animations as well as adds new areas/things to do and overhauls the look of the game while not detracting from the essential STALKER experience. Someone halp. [editline]13th June 2015[/editline] Also I forgot what I'm meant to do with the documents from [sp]Lab X-8[/sp]??
If you want mods for CoP SGM is one of the definitive ones to play. MISERY is OK too with some rebalancing but might not be to your taste without some tweaks. Though as for detracting from the experience, SGM is p much a kitchen sink mod like Soup for SHoC so it's a play it and like it (or not) thing.
For the docs [sp] you're supposed to take them to Kovalsky, and you can also take them to Hermann where he will make copies and give you a decent amount of rubles. other than that they just sit in your inventory and you can't remove them. [/sp]

From the looks of it, the guy in the Dark Valley lab warehouse was either trying to loot a corpse or aid a comrade he cannot reach. Script bugs like that which were completely beyond my ability to ever fix were one of the reasons I eventually gave up work on the mod merge.

I forget I've gotten bored of playing vanilla CoP with a weapon mod only

Misery mod breaks a few missions or makes them ridiculously hard to accomplish and unfair to accomplish compared to vanilla. Such as the [sp]Monolith fighters mission where it will fail regardless once begin to escort the recruiters to the monolith, or an even more heartbreaking example is where strelok's stashes may not even spawn and remove themselves properly. [/sp] Misery Mod also becomes pretty easy too once you learn how to exploit the economy since at a point artifact hunting becomes damn well useless due to the EXTREMELY low spawn rates that MISERY imposes on them. Your shotgun though will always print rubbles when mutant hunting like no tomorrow. When you do the ecologist missions, they even start to give you more money for mutant parts and even the actual rubble currency, along with other goodies so there is a constant profit found there. Once you make it to Pripyat, killing all [sp]You won't even have to go artifact hunting since killing all the monolith fighters stationed there is probably far more fun and profittable in my experience since some spawn artifacts as loot along with a metric shit town of drugs. For Max profit do not sell them to Garry since he will scam you on prices unless you complete the artifact quest before hand I believe.[/sp] Oh right, the AI in MISERY mod blatantly cheats too. It can be pitch black and you're on a hillside and these fuckers with flashlights 600 meters away just start shooting at you with pinpoint accuracy and kill you since muzzle flash is disabled in the mod for "realism". It's a pure artificial difficulty mod with some cool ideas and can be fun, but there are far better mods out there. Oh right and some of the weapons for misery mod have complete shit animations. The AKM reload animation doesn't even remove the magazine from the weapon, but heres the kicker, the idle animation removes the magazine and actually plays with the charging bolt. Other weapons are like this as well.

so I am to guess that I just search SGM in google and download the English one?
one time in misery i was using a moist nugget my bullet went off target so badly it ricocheted and killed me
I stopped using Misery when a point blank shot to the back of the head with a Sturmgewehr did not stop a bandit from turning around and killing me with a single bullet.

Just watch out for Alpha Squads. They'll one-shot you from across the map. Don't go up against them with anything lighter than 7.62x51, and bring plenty of ammo and first aid kits.
I gave up on SGM because I tried it twice and two times the mine detector bugged out for me and didn't work as it should've
I stopped using Misery when a point blank shot to the back of the head with a Sturmgewehr did not stop a bandit from turning around and killing me with a single bullet.
Yep, I stopped playing it when hitting a merc in the head with a mosin didn't kill him
Also I forgot how yucky CoP looks. Why does Clear Sky look so much better?
The developers had to cut down the draw distance and texture quality to make the larger maps run better on 2010-era older rigs. For graphics, you could get AtmosFear+Absolute Texture packs.

Rock 'em sock 'em faction fight with a teabag twist.
Also I forgot how yucky CoP looks. Why does Clear Sky look so much better?
because clear sky and shoc have actual interesting geometry. it's pretty hard to make what's just a bunch of hills look good. also i just wanna say that limansk has got to be the most intricate and detailed area in the entire series, and it's really sad that it was only used for like 1% of the game.
Is there any way to fix steam overlay not working in the GOG versions of SOC?

So is there significant difference between LURK 1.1 and 1.0552? Which is better?
If I remember right 1.0552 has artifacts and no where near the massive amounts of blur & pink as 1.0 do. I much proffer 1.0552 myself.
Which is better, DMMAE Extended or Preacher? What is difference?
Where do you even get preacher or extended of DMM AE?
Where do you even get preacher or extended of DMM AE?
/sg/ on /vg/ [editline]19th June 2015[/editline]
Which is better, DMMAE Extended or Preacher? What is difference?
I don't know all the differences but at the moment I'm using Preacher edition with the AA2 textures and foliage and it looks really nice
Do either of them include those nice AA2 gun anims?
I guess I should post it here. Some weeks ago I got CoP and then SoC, I love both games because even if the look the same they play very different on their own. Right now I'm doing an evil Stalker run on SoC and I already feel guilty after killing [sp]Nimble[/sp]. While on SoC I'm playing Misery and I love it too, makes a nice challenge learn all that stuff and adapt to a live of survival and... Misery. All I need now is get Clear Sky.
I picked up SoC on sale. I lost my copy of it years ago and am hyped for a replay. Does anyone have any suggestions for a mod like Arsenal Overhaul for CoP? I would also like to be able to repair my gear when I wears out, I do recall not being able to fix anything.

One of those option is make Screw and Ivantsov be able to repair weapons and armors.
Are there any SoC mods like Arsenal Overhaul?
Are there any SoC mods like Arsenal Overhaul?
Arsenal Mod comes to mind, ZoA adds quite a lot of guns if you don't mind a hardcore overhaul mod.
