there aren't really any shaders in Stalker that could make a good bioluminescent effect as far as I know
What about the lightbulbs then? Can someone make a tree or rock and use the material a lightbulb has?
that's the selflight shader, but it doesn't actually cast any light - it's the same shader as mutant eyes
Selflight + some little pools of light a la fruitpunch might work, no?
Loner1 is the shader expert around here, but selflight is only plain white (maybe it could have its colour changed), so it would look pretty weird
I don't know, it's probably worth experimentation
Stalker does have a strange lack of anomalous plantlife...It'd be pretty cool to see.

Hey alundiao, is your guys' fork of OpenXray 1.6 for CoC still vanilla compatible?
I just want those maps out there for modders to use. I'm surprised no one has started doing anything with them yet.
Yeah, what happened with the premonitions of russian wizards hacking down LA and using its parts to create a mega Frankenstein mod?
Throw Les Miserables over it, then The Armed Zone. Between the two of them you get a lot of extra weapons, armor etc but the difficulty curve is eased a bit.
I don't know if it's necessarily those but after getting those mods HOLY SHIT it's crashy now. Getting within 200 meters of the claw anomaly crashes the game instantly 100% of the time. I think I'll have to get rid of those.
learn where the stashes are, all of them.
Wont tell you where some of the good ones are, but ill say whats among them
Custom full condition AKM
full condition toz 66
full condition stechkin APS
probably some other custom pistols
Flame artifact
2 or 3 pistol repair kits
Shotgun repair kit
cleaning kits for rifles, pistols, and shotguns
high tier cooking stove thing
fuel for the stove
loads of ammo
enough food to last you a long time
lots and lots of smokes and weed
bunch of armor attachment things like kevlar, camelbak and aluminum racks
And thats just zaton, there is more in yanov.
Also kill mercs for some good weapons, if you loot the stashes with repair kits and cleaning kits, you can occasionally find something real nice at half condition and repair it. Also NPCs will carry variants of weapons you cant really find anywhere else, such as a camouflaged AKM or a customized protecta. I once found a half condition Sako TRG-42 on a merc, and they often have things like SVDs and M24s.
I'm glad I played the vanilla game enough to have many of the stash locations committed to memory.

But vanilla stashes in misery are filled with crap. Those juicy stashes have been put in new places inside containers rather than be objects in the game world.

Though a lot of the stashes in MISERY are moved around.

I'm starting to figure that out. In vanilla stashes I'm finding what amounts to glorified toilet paper while in the new ones I'm finding drugs, lots of drugs.

As far as I am aware, the grass would need an omni/point light source to cast light and look realistic. This would require map editing magic and a self-illumination shader for the grass. Otherwise you are just going to get neon grass and black everything else at night unless you do a weird bloom effect.
Seriously look EVERYWHERE, there are stashes in some pretty weird places, there is even one at the very top of skadovsk.
Also the toz is on top of a tractor.
There is also a pretty good stash that is just out in the open, sitting at the base of a tree in the grass.
I wonder, would selflight linked to a 16x16 solid colour texture cause a different colour?
And (Different subject) is it possible to add the volumetric shadows effect to NPC and character headlamps?

In a way even that looks cool.
It looks more like Cyrodiil and less like the Zone :v:
where is the eye bleach oh god
The worst part; This was r2_bloom at 1.5, not even 2.
What is the most hardcore mod experience in Stalker? I like Misery for COP but I find COP's environment limiting. Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky had lots of different levels but Pripyat has like, three.
I hear zone of alienation is pretty hardcore, though I haven't checked it out.
AA2 also feels a little more hardcore because antirad injections hurt you, medkits and bandages put away your weapon for a bit, and gunplay is more lethal.
Also new in spite of the death locations vid

STALKERSoup is a classic.
SGM will always be my baby for CoP
For those of you who play Misery, what class do you go with? I'm always torn between Recon and Sniper.

My favorite class is Sniper since it's the middle ground for everything. I would use Recon more often but I suck using pistols and Assault is only useful for battles and carrying stuff.
Man, OLR has some great visuals in their maps

stalkersoup has kept me entertained for like 2 years now
quality of content greatly varies
excellent firefights however
Didn't Stalkersoup recently get a launcher and some other stuff?
