Hello, brethren. Are you enjoying my repacks?
That's not an all too great start for some, I personally think that post is hilarious, though a bit old.
Adblock+ didn't stop those ads automatically for me so I don't think it's an issue of your computer being infested with shit. If you have Adblock+, you should be able to use block element and block all the dumb ads permanently.
It's called "Rockettab" and it indeed comes up with shit like this. I've de-installed it. It installs without your knowing and does stuff like this, plus that you have to de-install it whilst taking some special preparations.
Wormwood is the translation of 'Chernobyl', it's the name of the Red Forest, and it's got biblical/deep-rooted connotations of poison and sickness, which emulates the survival feeling we want to achieve.
Thank you so much on finally bringing the symbolism of the city's name. It was overlooked way too long. Especially the biblical connection to the Revelation's Wormwood "star", one of the signs that heralds the end of the world. It falls in the water, making one third of world's water "bitter" - poisonous. [sp]Radiation[/sp]
I know many people already know this, but damn I love these little coincidences so much.
BTW I'm hype about the mod again.

Almost certain it's ModDB being internet diarrhoea, but i'm always a bit paranoid of malware in general.

On the V+ page, made me smile like a madman. In the end, this is why modders do what they do.

How wouldn't you.
I have begun working on some experimental cleaner Metro-ish HUD design.

Metro Theme for STALKER when
But yeah, generally minimalistic UIs will be a lot easier than UIs with substances because holy fuck GSC sure knew how to boggle people's mind with their UI placements.

Not a terrible lot of Russian modders use the reference, due not knowing it too. Wormwood in Russian is Полынь (Polyn), Чернобыль (Chernobyl) is an obscure (obsolete, IIRC) Ukrainian name for it.

Hooray, you got it!
I'm glad you guys as modders have been able to keep your sense of drive and passion intact. I've seen too many mods across too many games go down forever from modder drama or egos or just simple burnout. Worse, they then just take all their stuff off the internet in a hissy fit so nobody can even build on their work later. So thanks for sticking to your guns and making all these cool mods.

Don't worry. Contrary to some people (yes you dez0wonk, tejas and kanyhalos), we can keep our ego at bay and fulfill our ambitions, while acting peacefully.
You shouldn't have come here Stalker. Now you'll be Wormwood

Yeah, this really happens a lot. Like, a lot lot, in various modding communities for various games.
It's really bad among the Bethesda games, they regularly just drop off the face of the internet, and if you go onto a Doom forum most of a mod thread's pages are just people clamoring over everything being credited properly to each modder.

Modding is war; this is the teachings of Lord Kanyhalos.
We shall win this war no matter the costs, even if it means taking ourselves to the grave, for our sacrifice will not be in vain and the world of stalker modding shall be fully liberated from all kinds of idiotism at last!

What the hell happened to him anyways?
Also makes me wonder what happened to SMP2.5.
Any idea where I can find similar guitar music to STALKER's campfire music? I really enjoy that in the game.

Check out the guitar tracks from Metro Last Light and 2033 for a start - they're quite similar.
FatalFunnel also made some Stalker-style guitar tracks for his mod for SoC, Zone of Alienation. I haven't listened to them, but they might be the sort of thing you're looking for.

Otherwise, browse around on youtube and maybe ask the guys on /sg/ - I've seen some good discussion of music to stalk by on there.
[editline]25th January 2015[/editline]
Also this which I just found and seems rather good (if you don't mind music with vocals.)

Thank you so much!

I believe he was burned out by modding. We tried to make OL3, but it remained unfinished.
He only left his will to us: "If you're here to kill me, take a number and wait in line.". :v:
Wow. Idgi.
Okay, so how hard is the Mutant Wave mission for Noah in SGM 2.2? I've already killed two controllers, but David just keeps on dying. Is he the one I have to protect and not Noah? Because it seems like Noah can take a beating and doesn't need too much help. Also, how many "waves" are there? I believe I've only gotten as far as doing the third wave.
Is there any way to get Owl to buy my damaged weapons? I'm carrying around a bunch of looted stuff but he won't buy it from me.
Just make huge a pile next to him until he drowns in kalashnikov. Then loot him

You need to protect them both, but David does tend to put himself at risk. I recommend you metagame shamelessly for the mutant wave mission, as it is mercilessly hard. Hold off on it until you've got a decently upgraded exo, a high-damage automatic shotgun, an excellent sniper rifle (Gauss Rifle works best), and a fair selection of explosives. If you've got any remote explosives you can also mine the locations where controllers show up in advance, which should save some effort.
