Yantar has such a well done musical track that I'll never ever forget my first time in it.
Small Frozen Zone update tonight - see image below, and there's a new ambient music track on their VK page as well: http://vk.com/frozen_zone
Just had a really intense firefight as a merc in the Dead City in CoC. I named him Big Boss and it turned out to be a lucky name, since a huge wave of bandits wiped out every merc but me. They entered the building and tried to take out our trade; I approached one in close quarters to try and take him down with my M1911 but he knocked it out of my hands. I ducked back, pulled out my knife, sidestepped his first shotgun blast and knifed him in the head, killing him instantly. More bandits poured in through the doorway and I scooped up his shotgun and finished them off. After that it was hit and run for awhile as I ducked in and out of buildings picking them off, using whatever I could find on the ground. Eventually I took them all out and cleared the area of hostiles. It was crazy how many spawned in to attack considering there were only like 6-7 mercs total on base. It was definitely a testament to the power of a freeroam ironman run; Big Boss lives to fight another day.
;48461785']personally i found yantar the spookiest shit on my first playthrough. Agroprom? zero fucks Yantar? ohgodwhatisthisjesuspleasesaveme
X-18 was the spookiest shit for me followed by Agroprom Underground. I didn't actually mind X-16 all that much for some reason.
Small Frozen Zone update
Why don't you added screenshots from the post on 11 august?
Yeah Yantar really does it. The music is one of the best parts, the sudden cut offs really add to the atmosphere. It's a place where you just know something isn't right, compared to Agroprom where it's just dark tunnel with two blood suckers, some bandits, and military. And for Oblivion lost, I tried 2.2 the other day, and uninstalled it within 30 minutes. The mod just felt wrong and it was too easy. Oblivion lost 3.0 is a complete rebuild and different mod supposedly, so we'll see if it's any good tomorrow.
Yeah, I forgot to add that once you discovered it flaws or saw something out of place, OL 2.2 became just shit. Because they were so big in magnitude, you couldn't forget them/overlook them. Namely the faction traders which weren't fleshed out or bonus stuff laying around. It was basically a mod made russian style -take some stuff from here and there, glue it together and call it day- without the russian magic.
I really like the alternate variant of the SoC yantar track, and I kind of wish it played, if only just once, in SoC.
It's a beautiful track, but really too . . . emotive? For STALKER, at least. STALKER has this kind of impersonal feel about it, like it's not even trying to deal in emotional material. It's one of the reasons I keep coming back to the franchise. (excepting CoP, which might be why I haven't played it nearly as much the other two.) (Though, a STALKER game with a really developed main-quest would be marvellous on its own terms.)
Why don't you added screenshots from the post on 11 august? Color me impressed.
How do you name your player in CoC? Ive never seen the option and Im named Strekock.
How do you name your player in CoC? Ive never seen the option and Im named Strekock.
When you make a new game, you can click the name in the faction select screen [editline]15th August 2015[/editline] speaking of CoC: Fuck Agroprom Underground.
Is that a decent skin shader in STALKER? Color me impressed.
No, is it a default oren nayar
Im getting a fatal crash in Yantar after purchasing the psi prototype and running around outside. Heres my crash log. http://pastebin.com/5dxYGEEK
How do you name your player in CoC? Ive never seen the option and Im named Strekock.
Never fear, it's still possible:
Q: Can I change factions or my character name? A: Call of Chernobyl does not have such features in-game. But you are welcome to change your faction or name through gamedata\axr_options.ini. Here is an example: [temp] new_game_character_name = Alundaio new_game_faction = dolg
from the FAQ: http://forum.epicstalker.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=297 Then just reload a save.
teehee the 'pass out' animation still plays when you turn off the brain in x-16 Though you just immediately get back up again :v:
;48461785']personally i found yantar the spookiest shit on my first playthrough. Agroprom? zero fucks Yantar? ohgodwhatisthisjesuspleasesaveme
Hoo boy, let me tell you about real horror. It was my first playthrough of Shadow of Chernobyl and I had finally reached Yantar after what felt like aeons of endless dread in the previous sections of the game. The sun had long ago dipped below the horizon and I was greeted by the level's rather serene track playing in the background. I was approaching the scientist base with utmost apprehension, the images of X-18 still etched deep within my mind (I'm definitely not one who is hard to scare) and a shotgun grasped firmly in my hands. That's when I heard it - it was like a muffled call. But for what? Was it there to alarm me not to approach the swamps? Was it yet another unseen horror skulking in the murky environs of Lab X-16? By that time I had been so immersed in the game and still unsure of what other nasties the game could throw at you so I went around the base and into the swamps. If it truly was death beckoning me to enter, then so be it - I must face it sooner or later. I was relieved, no, still troubled, because all what I found was a few snorks crawling between the reeds. The incessant call of my stalker was still there, taunting me like the fool I was. Fear of the unknown had swallowed me and I was getting twitchy just when turning around to check whichever patch of the swamp could be hiding another surprise for me. Nothing. So I decided to finally return to my mission - going to the scientist camp - with the muffled voice still on my mind. And that's when I discovered the true face of my fears. [sp]Friggin[/sp][sp]SAKHAROV[/sp]
Hello, hello!
Hello, hello!
Somewhere on this planet a man is shrieking in terror.

I've just been reminded of when I was playing A year or two ago. I went into the bunker and Sakharov wasn't there. It had me puzzled, but I just assumed he walked into the other room, since he did that now and then in the mod I was playing. After waiting for about three minutes with no sign of him, I wasn't paying attention, and he suddenly walked up to the counter, from out of the ground, of course saying "Hello, Hello." Some might have found it terrifying, I think he just discovered a new anomaly. It actually isn't too usual for him to rise out of the floor or from a wall in the AMK mod I have.

Kanyhalos finally released Oblivion Lost 3.0. MEGA download link because it's still waiting for approval on Moddb.

I never played 2.2 so I might give this a shot tonight.
is there any way to outright remove helicopters in CoC? I'd honestly give this mod a 10/10 if it wasnt for them
is there any way to outright remove helicopters in CoC? I'd honestly give this mod a 10/10 if it wasnt for them
Look a few pages back.
is there any way to outright remove helicopters in CoC? I'd honestly give this mod a 10/10 if it wasnt for them
I will be making them less aggressive, and adding option to disable heli engine sound in game menu. Also, there is a feature that isn't working in the leaked build which is stalker vs. helicopter combat AI.
Welp, Big Boss is dead. A mercenary turned on me and killed me inside the merc HQ after clearing out the Dead City for 3 days. I'm not sure if I winged him with a bullet fighting bandits or what. It's a shame to lose a good character to something so dumb, but I guess that's the risk of an ironman run. That Merc base is set up kind of weird, it's so open that there was a constant firefight across the street with the bandits, even during a blowout.
So Oblivion lost 3 isn't that bad. The thing I don't like is how hard med kits are to get early on, but the mod has been fun so far, and isn't completely piss easy.
What's an ironman run?
An option in CoC, deletes your save when you die
Is there any way to make jumping enemies like dogs not jump in CoC? Dogs just leap at you with no indication and will jump like 30 feet. Also seems the longer I play the more frequent crashes become.
Go into config/creatures/m_dog.ltx jump_min_distance = 4.0 jump_max_distance = 7.0 Try editing those
