Well shit, he wasn't bluffing.
In my case, he's threatening me if I don't demolish my ammo factories.
Fuck you Strindberg, you incompetent douche, I schooled you in the campaign and I'll fuck you up with glee.
Whenever I think of Strindberg I can't help but think about Guy Forcas. They're both massive dicks.
Sadly Strindberg is actually pretty strong, going to try take him though anyway and see how I go

Oh snap, the comparison is perfect.

Take screenshots as well. We wanna hear the story
Just bought 1404 on amazon... Really looking forward to it!
Does it play the same as 2070?
Well, mostly, yes.
Anno 2070 any better than Anno 1404? I don't have huge amounts of money and I'm still really pissed off with Ubisoft's DRM attached to it.

The DRM isn't really noticeable unless their servers go down, and even then you can still play offline, you just can't use your ark upgrades. The only really annoying thing about it is the activation limits, at least they allow hardware changes now.

At least they added features that utilise the internet connection required to make the game funner. Career progression and achievments and rewards. Lots of 'em.

But is it actually fun? Is there any point me buying it if I have Anno 1404 already?
Trying to do that fun little mission where you gott achieve 2500 executives.
I'm getting near 1500 and holy tits this is crazy, especially with resources scattered around on all the islands.

Deal with it bitch. Only island in the whole game that had a bloody fruit fertility.
That is basically the reaction I have for anything he says to me
In the inevitable expansion, we need a descendant of the Red Cardinal. I don't think there is a no-bullshit, badass motherfucker like him in 2070.

In fact, in 2070, everyone just bullshits. Tycoons bullshit about their asshole exploitation and warping of facts, Ecos bullshit about their slightly hinted ecoterrorist ties and at times hypocritical behaviour, the scientists disregard moral issues so long as science goes on, everyone has shady businesses and skeletons in the closet. In-game quests paint such a picture to me.
It's a game of bullshitting :v:
Check out this guys city layout:

So freaking good, wish I could build as compactly and as organised as that.

That is surprisingly accurate to the layout of New New York in Futurama. At least near the coast it seems that way.
Figured out how to beat Strindberg, I just need to call in an Aux. fleet from both Rufus Thorne and that Eco chick, costing like $90k credits total, then I can have one fleet fucking up his major city, one fleet fucking up his fleet, and the fleet I already have going wherever they need to help out.
Gonna be total annihilation.
EDIT: Ok I need serious help, how do I finish someone off? I've destroyed all his buildings that I can reach by sea using my ships, but some are too far inland to kill. I'm Eve, so I don't think I have access to any military apart from ships (no aircraft etc) - so how do I totally end him?
I assume i'm just going to have to get aircraft, which means getting some tech houses now as well, since you need 100 lab assistants to unlock the airport... ugh.

That's neat, but also somehow feels like a monstrosity.
Also, I can't see any city centers on the pic

Then you need the carbon factory, oil rigs, etc, etc.
Aircraft are not cheap. And without modules they get raped by ships.
Capturing is also buggy and somewhat broken.
Basically Anno 2070's combat is really bad and I could probably draw up multiple easy solutions for it and explain in detail why it sucks so much.
I don't mind combat's meh-ness, because it's not the focus of the game anyways.
Not for me, at least.

Yeah not a fan of the combat either, it's really bloody annoying. I got frustrated and just ended up getting the airport, and i've got 6 aircraft now. I'm buying fuel from Soklow so that I don't need to bother with oil rigs etc.
I want to hurry up and finish this combat so I can actually get back to finishing this hard world event, only 1000/5000 execs still... the whole focus on combat means I've done shit all with regards to city building.
To me, the focus of the combat seems to be mainly cutting off supply routes till your enemy's economy collapses.
Considering the fact that all the AIs seem to cheat with their resources blatantly, it doesn't exactly help...
And doesn't destroying one's warehouse mean they lose control over the island?
9 hours into the hard world event, just hit 2000/5000 execs and totally smashed Strindberg. Leaving Sokow alone I think, don't really want any more conflict. It's kind of annoying having this huge fleet and all these aircraft just sitting around doing nothing now, especially since I know nobody else is going to attack me for the rest of the event.
My home island is totally full now, literally no room to build anything, time to look for another island to start all over again and get the last 3000 execs. Kind of daunting having to do everything again. At least this time I have plenty of resources to get stuff going.
Well, sell that fleet . Or just press delete with it all selected and watch the disaster

Also, the Guardian technology is a godsend when you play Tycoons. +500 proper ecobalance, and you just gotta have a nuclear power plant to sustain it.
Anyways, I realised why Tycoons at Executive stage feel harder to play. The Ecos have that TV channel which reduces all consumption by like 20 percent. And that's an incredibly huge advantage.
Wait really, *all* consumption by 20%? I thought there was just the one channel that reduced consumption of Lifestyle products (so communicators, service bots, and 3d projectors) by 15%.

Oh oops, yeah, that one. Still, those things are the hardest to manufacture, so a 15% decrease in their consumption is bliss.
I can no longer buy Anno 1404 via Steam? Is this only true for the german Steam store?
