I can no longer buy Anno 1404 via Steam? Is this only true for the german Steam store?
It's been like that for like, a year now, I think? Stupid ubisoft.
Don't know if this has been mentioned already but it can't hurt to mention it again. For anyone in North America, Anno 1404 was re-titled Dawn of Discovery.

Just need to get the resources to upgrade all the engineer houses to executives and I'm done at last. I haven't bothered to supply the execs with service bots yet either, so if I fall short of the 5000 after upgrading the 200 or so engineer homes, I'll just get some service bots to boost their satisfaction and push over the 5000. Anyone else doing this mission, or am I the only one crazy enough?

[editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] But hey, let's have an image dump of my little Tycoon heaven on the Jorgensen Plateau! THAT is a sexy looking city.
Are there any singleplayer cheats in this game? I've run in a very frustating situation.
"Ubisoft services are unavailable at the moment, please try again later" FUCK YOU
Are there any singleplayer cheats in this game? I've run in a very frustating situation.
No cheats. None. In a game that SCREAMS for cheats.
No cheats. None. In a game that SCREAMS for cheats.
Well, considering that continuous game has that thing where you can carry over stuff and technologies in your Ark, cheats could screw that up a bit.
Are there any singleplayer cheats in this game? I've run in a very frustating situation.
Pressing U (For upgrade) on other peoples depots is the only one. Not exactly helpful though.
Well, considering that continuous game has that thing where you can carry over stuff and technologies in your Ark, cheats could screw that up a bit.
How do you do that, by the way?
How do you do that, by the way?
I think it's some setting in continuous game options thing stuff, which I assume is on by default. Single missions and campaign stuff and such don't have it though.

My army and capitol. No damn ecos will be pushing me around.

[editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Also, should I do another image dump of my newest tycoon city? :v:

[editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Also, should I do another image dump of my newest tycoon city? :v:
I think one of the reasons for the bias is because of how damn unbalanced the factions are. Not only do the Ecos has the best economy and the prettiest buildings, they also have the best senate bonuses. And the only DLC (as of now.)

I'm happy witht he game's moral message being "pollution is bad mmkay" but the Ecos get ALL the good shit. I thought the Tycoons were supposed to be the ones going for max efficiency and profit all day erryday? I mean, what makes more sense, the merciless industrialists or the resource-conserving good guys getting the senate buff that turbos production buildings? Well, guess which of them got that buff. [editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Tycoon buildings are pretty sexy though, in their own way.
Just got Anno 2070 :) Will be back with noob questions soon!
I think one of the reasons for the bias is because of how damn unbalanced the factions are. Not only do the Ecos has the best economy and the prettiest buildings, they also have the best senate bonuses. And the only DLC (as of now.)
Bit of a contradiction, saying the bias in voting is because Ecos have the best bonuses if you vote for them? That would make perfect sense for everyone to vote for them in that case. The Eco senate bonuses are absolute crap at the moment for the Ecos, the SAAT ones shit all over them. Tbh I think the balance is ok. The Tycoon military options blow the Ecos away - the nuclear missile silos are absolutely devastating. The only issue with Tycoons is obviously pollution leading to a crap ecobalance, but eventually Tycoons unlock their own buildings which can fix up the ecobalance. Tycoon buildings look great too I reckon, a bit too dull colour-wise maybe (if the metal was shinier/brighter it'd be nice, and really nice building lights would be cool too) but they're still quite nice.
People vote for the faction they play as, not caring much for bonuses. Most people play Ecos because they are used to having idyllic little cities in past Annos (1404 especially) and want that (even though they are far from idyllic in things other than aesthetics). As for all this Tycoon vs Eco stuff, it's fine by me as long as it's balanced (as far as gameplay I'm not sure, but for now DLC is Eco-oriented), but keep your eco preaching to yourself Related Designs.
Yeah DLC is the only imbalance that I really see. I'm pretty proud of what the dev team has done with Anno 2070 with regards to patches + the new DLC though, so I'm sure they'll follow through with Tycoon DLC, hopefully alongside the next patch. Also anyone know what the world event before this Eden one was? I totally missed it :(

Apart for the Pier decoration do any of them provide any benefit at all? Because it seems to me that why would I waste space with a silly park that does nothing when I could put something important there instead.
Apart for the Pier decoration do any of them provide any benefit at all? Because it seems to me that why would I waste space with a silly park that does nothing when I could put something important there instead.
Many decoration pieces are small enough to fit into those useless spaces that remain and where no buildings fit in. And it's fun if you decorate your city. And I play for fun.
Many decoration pieces are small enough to fit into those useless spaces that remain and where no buildings fit in. And it's fun if you decorate your city. And I play for fun.
Well so do I but I meticulously design my cities to not waste space. My ADD prevents me from having things not be, symmetrical, perfectly lined up, identical, etc, etc.
Well I'm a messy person so I just go and make them lively.
I just loaded up a continuous game save. Some how my island is no longer mine and I have control of the pirates? I can build but not properly I have to use a news prompt to open buildings tab. Have control of all the pirate vehicles too. It's weird.

Ecoterrorism, smuggling, bribery. It's all in the daily quests. But Ecos are even hypocritical about it. "Oh we would save that dude's ship from the sea even if he wasn't the man we need for the senate vote. Yeah. It's just a splendid bonus."
