Anno Domini is medieval Latin for "Year of our Lord", and it's what A.D. stands for, as in 1404 AD. I guess they cut out the Domini part to avoid offending anyone or to keep the title shorter and snappier.

I know exactly what you mean. I picked it up Friday night and before I realized it my weekend had flown by and I had done absolutely nothing but play this game. Great game indeed.
Man, I wanted to pick 2070 up from the steam sales, but my money came too late. I then spent it on a different game, and 2070 went back on sale, leaving me frustrated. And now this weekend the same thing happened. Damnit steam!

I got the deluxe edition, all the DLC and Deep Ocean for Anno 2070. Man does that feel good.
I didn't really buy it when it were on sale but I got base, all DLC + ocean for 40. I love this game.
Watching an LP of Anno 1404 and I have 2070, how different would be going from 2070 to 1404?

2070 has a few improvements, but generally the only thing changing is the atmosphere (which, in my opinion, is not a small thing at all and 1404+Venice is superior to 2070 due to it). 1404 felt warm, 2070 is sterile and cold.
I like both 1404 and 2070. They're just different eras, but really the same game. 2070 has a few extra's like researching upgrades for a persistent Ark that carries from game to game, but 1404 is the 15th century. Who doesn't love the 15th century

Could also be the dative or ablative case without a preposition. Could mean something along the lines of "for the year 1404" or "with the year 2070" or "by the year 1701." Not going to list the other possibilities.

Did you check out the beginners guide on the previous page? I've watched the first two parts of that and it's extremely helpful. There are some things he doesn't go over, like adding a second city hub, but you can kind of figure that out easily. I highly recommend that YT series though, it's definitely helped me a lot.

Although helpful, I was more wondering on any major changes because I can't tell many besides the time period and the goods, it appears to function the exact as 2070 but 15th century.

Essentially, yes. Though you have to deal with the Eco Balance of your island which can effect production not to mention the new underwater gameplay.
Really wish I would've picked up that DLC.
Is anyone playing 2070 right now that might want to start a multiplayer game? I've never done one before and I want to give it a spin.

I would have joined you guys but I didn't bother reading the thread until now, I'll hopefully be on tomorrow if people are playing.
I have this "problem". I'm a freak when it comes to organize stuff and I need it to look pretty while being neatly placed and organized.
So whenever I play with Dizzy, he places his stuff so it's as efficient as possible but because of that it's disorganized and ugly as hell.
So whenever I look at my city I get proud as fucking hell because it looks so fucking good and then when I look at Dizzy's city, I cry.
So we attempted multiplayer.
It was a clusterfuck.
