Why did they take it off anyways? I really want to actually buy it, but it's not available on Steam, it's nowhere to be found in stores... Is it even purchaseable anywhere?
http://www.amazon.com/ANNO-1404-Pc/dp/B002EVDU5A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1324395426&sr=8-2 The only place besides Ebay and Ubi Shop or whatever it's called.
I found it is also sold on Direct2Drive. I think I'm gonna buy it there [editline]20th December 2011[/editline] Nope, it's fucking expensive there. Ubishop it will be then.
also fucking expensive? :buddy:
How is a two years old game this freaking expensive EVERYWHERE
I've played Anno 1404 and 1701. Origionally had 1404 but was super bummed to find that it had no co-op so me and my friend bought 1701 to co-op there instead. Think we'd had it a few days and the goddamn venice expansion came out for 1404 lol. Recently got 2070 and for some reason I just prefer it to the others. Maybe because it's a little more simplified but it just feels nice and polished version of 1404 but in the future. Also the drop in co-op for everything is a nice touch. Also I got Anno 2070 for $19 off gamerkeys which in pounds is only £12 or so which is awesome. Fuck paying £39.99 when i can pay around £12. Just done the same with the latest assassins creed also, $19 for a brand new game - fuck yeah!
The only thing that happens if you don't buy 2070 because of Ubisoft is that there won't be any more Anno games. Go boycott something like Assasin's Creed that sells a lot and is sure to get sequels, not Anno.
hipster
LOL, after you play Anno 1404 for 2 hours an ingame message tells you "You've been playing for more than 2 hours. What about a break?"
LOL, after you play Anno 1404 for 2 hours an ingame message tells you "You've been playing for more than 2 hours. What about a break?"
Once I played for so long it told me that my RAM was filling up and I better save and restart before the game crashes (I have 6GB by the way).
LOL, after you play Anno 1404 for 2 hours an ingame message tells you "You've been playing for more than 2 hours. What about a break?"
Its really annoying when you get a message after 10 hours. It's still the same in 2070. Don't buy Anno on STEAM or Retail. I got my Anno 2070 for 28€ from www.gameladen.com (german shop). And for the people who can't decide between 2070 or 1404. Get both. I really enjoyed both.
Anno 2070 is way easier than 1404. After playing both it's very clear. Production chains, wares and demands of the upper classes are smaller. The only cool thing is the combat, wich feels much better than in the older games.
So hey guys, how about we rev up those screenshots? The Anno games are all quite beautiful.

Too bad the site seems to be only in German. I hope the game at least isn't in German :v:
So hey guys, how about we rev up those screenshots? The Anno games are all quite beautiful.
Okey.. A city me and a friend were working on in co-op infinite mode: [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/613844102360277741/A17DA08D942AB771F8928D891AD56920B930AD78/[/t] Exploring an underwater wreck for a story related quest: [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/613844102311037004/301F2DF9AF6FABFCB64DD9B4CFD77BC35215A7B3/[/t] Another view of the city we were building: [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/613844102360273533/B8B4F09E6CC04C448199CFF30BBE7B4FCF6076B0/[/t] All screenshots from 2070.
There can never be enough screenies!
Anyone know why I cant select any ship for the auomatic trading routes? Talking about Anno 2070 Quite a letdown this new game in the series..... Sad because the last one Anno 1404 was very very good. The best in the series I dare to say.
Check out my Anno 1404 Let's Plays too: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1138466

If you're from the UK you can pick up Anno 1404 with Venice for £9 from Play Edit: Nevermind, just found it on Amazon for £6.50 :| Here also is Anno 1701 any good?
I"m using the corridor layout cause I'm a lazy inimaginative bastard Guessing they did away with attainments? I will miss my godly late game ships
Add me on skype(corewarp) or ingame(corewarp) if you want to play. :D I love playing this shit for hours on end.
Hmm, good price. Too bad the site seems to be only in German. I torrented all the games and used the CD keys I got from buying it. That's legal, right? On-topic, I have over 60 hours of 2070 right now and I'm loving it, I play with a friend once in a while, though we can never seem to get past the 5 hour mark.

Whenever I try and play a game with my friend in 1404, we always spend a couple of days making a great city. Then we just get mad at each other at the most trivial shit. At one point he just pissed me off so much I deleted all the parts of our town. :v: I have a feeling we'll be doing the same thing if we get 2070 as well.

I don't think I've ever played a multiplayer game without killing off (by that I don't mean completely killing, just fucking him up so much his economy goes to shit and he's kinda fucked) at least one other player.
To any Brits who may give a shit, Anno 1404 has been at every game store I've been to on their 2 for £15 rule (Or just £10 for one!)
So gents, why's this thread so dead-ish?
Arg, this annoys me. Cheapest place on the internet is GameLaden, which is German, at 23 euros. But apparently, after ordering it there, a local store seems to sell the gold edition at 9,99. Sigh.
You're lucky any retail stores even sell it at your place.
We have retail stores which sell everything and anything. There's GameMania which sells about all games from 2004 onward, and if there's anything older than that, there's usually bargain bins in computer tech stores where the employees dump older games or bargains for you to check out while waiting for someone to come assist you.
