Is the Anno 2070 Deluxe Edition worth the extra money?

So is the art book, but the soundtrack is undoubtedly the best part of the deluxe edition.
I've spent four hours trying to solve my Functional Drink shortage but so far I've only manage to keep my head above the water

I got insane when I had this gigantic clusterfuck in one of the campaigns, boats where going everywhere and I didn't know what to do :v:
Decided to just make a mad dash from 1800 execs to 2500, hoping the infrastructure would hold long enough to get up there. Sure enough with the help of some manual ascensions I reached it in time before the pop boom could bring everything down.
Anyone else having server connection issues on 2070? I just reinstalled windows which means I had to activate it again, but I can't seem to get a connection to the server to play.
When I saw 2070 had ubisoft's DRM launcher thingie on it I actually dropped to my knees with a dramatic NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Fortunately it's not as fucking intrusive as it is with Heroes of Might and Magic VI

I think it's the main menu music. It's either sad or peaceful, depending on how you interpret it. I think if you play them back to back they sum up the general atmosphere of the game perfectly.

I have to agree that the game really forced the whole INDUSTRIALISTS ARE BAD thing. But I gave up on Anno having a story with interesting or ambiguous moral choices when I saw the cardinal that looked like a sith lord in Anno 1404.
I'm playing a continuous mode session with a friend right now, and it amuses me greatly that despite him playing as the money-grabbing Global Trust his economy and ecology is down the drain. He has a net profit of -1k and an average eco level of -200 whilst I'm swimming in money at 350k currently in the bank with influxes of 2,5k every time a shipment of tea arrives at my secondary island and an overall positive eco balance. Granted, this is mostly due to him having no idea of licenses work or how to research using S.A.A.T technology. He was so busy expanding his cities and producing coal at the start of the game to prepare for later in the game where people's demands increase.
I am a new player of this series, should I go with the original and work my way up or try one of the new ones right away?

Go with either 1404 or 2070 depending on which theme you like better, maybe try 1701 if you can find it budget somewhere to see if you like the gameplay in the first place.
Can't really recommend the older ones because I haven't played them.
