So how is the online part of 2070?I see you can start a saved game as a multiplayer game but whats the use?
Proper games can take more than 10 hours and you don't want to sit through all of that
Proper games can take more than 10 hours and you don't want to sit through all of that
I love games like that. I'd like to play longer than that even. The issue is that whilst playing for 8-hours straight, having agreed to just build and be content with ourselves someone is like "i gtg lololol" and decides to use all of his navy and shit to fuck everyone in the ass before logging off. It's retarded to go to all that effort to have asswipes destroy it and leave. HOURS of effort gone because your supply chain is broken and your economy is crumbling.

Getting career points for story missions seems to be bugged. I haven't gotten any for a week now.
I fell silly for doubleposting, but why is this thread always so slow?
Someone should gift me anno 2070. If you do Ill play all the hours with you online.
So hey, which faction do y'all people play? I feel inclined to play Tycoons solely because the Ecos are hypocrite hippies. "Oh hey we love the Earth very much but we gon' just shower ourselves with household luxury appliances anyways and use our magic tech to NOT fuck up the environment just as bad as those evil evil Tycoons"
I play at Tycoons. Because I rather play as the 'Bad Guys' when the 'Good Guys' are a bunch of generic tree hugging, granola eating hippies.
Tycoons. I just can't bring myself to play as those tree-huggers.
Also, in world council votes and senate votes too, always the Tycoons get the shittiest buffs in case of election. I do believe it is deliberate.
Hmm. Option 1: Play as the evil industrialists who's sole purpose is to create murder factories that encompass entire islands and outputting enough pollution to cause continuous acid raid, build radioactive nuclear plants and missiles, giant murder boats and use your Ministry of Truth the brain wash your people into spending and working their lives away for the elite. Favorite Quotes: "There was a fight just a minute ago! You should have seen it! Hahaha!" "I'm going to blow my entire savings on a new car!" Option 2. The kind, good hearted tree hugging, granola eating environmentalists where everything was from the ground up designed to be asthetically pleasing so you know exactly who the good guys are, have several dozen structures and techs to reduce pollution, the most cheerful dialog of the entire game with islands of green pastures and even greener cities where everything is 'perfect' and the whales are safe and we protect the dolphins. Favorite Quotes: "I really believe in what we're doing. We're going to make a better life for our children." "We need to protect the Earth, after all if we don't than who will?" Instead of just flat out saying what I picked I'll repost this video of a generic Tycoon from Anno 2070.
THe way I see, tycoons can be done without raping your island to bits, you just gotta know how to utilise what little ecobalance-fixing tech they've got. And the Eco lines are disgustingly noblebright.

I'd probably care but there aren't any really any negative effects to having horrible eco balance except the rain and how dark your islands get. It's a big fuck you to the Ecos anyway. Also do the Ecos even have a Super Weapon like the Tycoon Launch Pad?

Also makes growing crops a nightmare. BUt the Tycoons' soil deacidification station is pretty powerful lategame, it just cannot raise ecobalance above 0.

And all my agriculture is imported from other islands that aren't horribly polluted. I play like a generic Tycoon would, not giving a shit about anything except spitting on the hippies from my oil powered, golden throne.
Well, the happier your peeps are, the more money they churn out. Also, selling fuel rods is like printing money.
Well hey, new 2070 patch. The list of fixed stuff and new features is pretty cool.
Implemented ‘Instant pickup’ feature
Can't say I'm familiar with the feature. Anyone have any ideas?
Goddamnit, new patch and what does it add? "New decorations" lolokay what, no AI fixes, no new AI's, nothing? v:v:v
Can't say I'm familiar with the feature. Anyone have any ideas?
When a production plant is full, you click a button and a transport is immediately sent from the nearest depot to pick the goods up. [editline]13th February 2012[/editline] And I like that there are more decorations now. I like to tinker around with them.
Fuck yes I was hoping there would be an Anno thread. 1602 > all. Got way too much playtime on that. 2070 is slowly growing on me though. What's in the new DLC for 2070 that just got released? Don't know if I really like the idea of DLC for a game like this...

Not fucking up the environment does not mean being a shit smelling, dirt eating hippy. Also, every tycoon is a dick and their politicians suck.

Don't know if I really like the idea of DLC for a game like this...
The DLC is new decorative stuff and a new Eco environment tech you get if you complete the new Global Event missions. Which is weird because the update description mentions some "fee", but I see no mention of anything that has to be paid for anywhere. You just need to do the global event and get everything. [editline]14th February 2012[/editline] In other words, Ubisoft is slowly figuring out what can really prompt people to buy your game: New content! Shame that they still keep up the DRM sillyness.
I still have so much to learn about 2070, no idea what the 'Global Event' is. When I finally start understanding everything it's gonna be great though. I remember when I first got 2070 I hated the shit out of it compared to 1602, but now it's actually fun. Hopefully it keeps getting better, yet to even play the Eco faction or any of the multiplayer/campaign.
In the menu, there's that global event tab above senate shenanigans. It's three missions forming a minor story arc. Do 'em and you get shiny stuff and career points. They change every second month or so.
Oh would you look at that, there IS a part of the stuff you gotta pay for. A couple missions and lots of decorative items for the Ecos. Nothing actually game-changing seems to be in there, though, which is a good thing.
Ah yeah I see, one DLC gives the ecos a few more buildings that are just nice scenery, one gives 2 bonus missions and a new portrait, and the last gives you the same technology you could get if you just played through the Eden Project World Event. Going to really start playing this heaps now
Oh yeah just finished my Tycoon monument. Eat profit margins bitches. Have a screenshot of the view from it.
Anyone else here want to get some online games going? It gets boring taking on the AI after a while. Citybuilder online games would be so great too. Only issue is, can you both save what you've done and then return to it? Or in online games do you need to play it all through in one sitting?
