Those missions where you're told to find a certain citizen, how exactly do you finish them?
I think you just have to look around the city for the person and click on them. They normally have a blue haze/glow around them to make them easier to spot, so just zoom in and search through the city roads. It gets really difficult when you have a large congested city.
So this latest world event thing is pretty fun so far. Isn't even that hard, although holy shit executives are fucking needy.

I do wonder though, I hope I can avoid armed conflict even in the last mission. I kept my relationship with both Tycoon opponents splendidly neutral.
Hmm, what sort of combat stuff is there in 2070? So far i've seen ships and nukes in a few videos online, but yet to see any ground forces. Do they exist? Going to be seriously pissed off if the only combat is ships.
I don't think there are any ground forces. They have aircraft though.
Ships, submarines and aircraft. I've seen no trace of ground forces yet.
Quite sure ground forces are not in the game at all.
Well I found ground forces a pain in the ass in 1404. Aircraft and ships are handy dandy to handle.
Fixed my problem, Drivers. Would it be worthwile to go back into 1404 if I've only played 2070?
I finally reached 1000 Eco executives in the last mission of the world event.
Then I realised I need 5000.
[editline]16th February 2012[/editline]
Seriously though, 5000 executives? Nightmarish.
5000 executives? Oh man that's going to take forever, better get up to that now
Oh and yeah you guys were right, just aircraft, subs and ships, no ground forces, although I suppose aircraft make up for it :(
Just because some geniuses were laughed at doesn't mean everyone that was laughed at was a genius.

The SAAT lines are hilarious.
Only just realised how huge 5000 execs is going to be in that hard world event mission, it took me about 1-2 hours to get to 750 for the medium world event mission.
I suppose once you've got some execs it's not too hard to get way more, you just need to build more housing + resource production like crazy, and expand to other islands heaps.

Except Thor Strindberg with his doctorate in being a giant douche starts throwing ultimatums at you not to expand anywhere once your executive population gets really going
I wish i had money for Anno 1404 or 2070.

Get it from a third-party key website, that's what I did.
So how do these daily quests work, anyways? You accept one faction's offer and they offer you that mission in the game you are in/the game you load next? Does it only work in coninuous games?
Yeah that's what it looks like, haven't actually even done one yet, still trying to get the last mission of the world event done. :(

I gave up on that one for now, we've got time till march anyways.
I bought anno 2070 when it came out, loved it. But seriously the fact they plugged the combat prior to release and it turning out so bad really annoyed me.
It wasn't a hard thing to fix/make better, but they spoiled it.
Slowly getting there with the 5000 exec mission, pic of part of my city below after about 4 hours. Just about to let the upgrade to execs begin now :(

Deal with it bitch. Only island in the whole game that had a bloody fruit fertility.
I really want this game, but I'm not sure if that's just a knee-jerk reaction (I've wasted money on other games that I've never touched, etc.). I've been watching Gunsmith's videos on it and I love the look and how it plays, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $90 or so (and I hate Ubisoft)
Does it play much like Age of Empires? I sunk hours into that when I first got a computer.
I found it surprisingly fun, it incredibly satisfying to make a healthy society that can stand on it own feet.
Christ, this game is $90 on Steam, $47 in the local EB retail store. Looks like I'll be getting it regardless.

Yeah it plays a little like Age of Empires in that you collect resources, build buildings, and build an army etc.
With this there's a lot more depth though, I mean there's something like 50 resources at least, and the focus is a lot more on building up your city and taking care of your population as opposed to fighting.
You can still fight like crazy and smash everyone, but you need a pretty good city to be able to build and support an army in the first place.
Trade and diplomacy are similar to their counterparts in AoE, but there's just more depth again, i.e more things can be traded (items and upgrades as well as goods) and a lot more things can benefit you from a good diplomatic relationship with someone, they can give you small little missions during a big game, which when completed give you some nice items/cash/etc. There's not just friendly/neutral/enemy either, but rather a progressive rating which changes based on your actions and how you run your city - for example there's a Tycoon fag called Sokkowl or some shit who will hate you if your city doesn't run on oil, and the Eve Initiative people will hate you if your city is polluting the shit out of the world.

I got Anno 2070 for like $19 off gamer keys
Can someone tell me if Anno 2070 has a coop mode like Anno 1404: Venice? It's not really coop it's just two people controlling one faction.
-nevermind actually I should try and use google more often-

NPCs with their quirks can be weird. like that Japanese underwater researcher dude that dislikes when you conduct your own research.
