So where does one find fiber optics? I want to tweak some of my energy weapons but its the one element I'm just fucking unable to find...
Cait can do Master locks, so yeah. She does require you to stock her up with Bobby pins though, cause she can use anything from 1-5 pins on Master locks

Did you mark the item?
I'm sorted for adhesive and oil which I'd have said were the most scarce a number of hours ago, but is there a sustainable source of aluminium?

Apparently Fallout 4 shipped 12 million copies on launch day. Supposed to be a $750 million possible revenue!
"Major retailers have informed Bethesda of the tremendous consumer interest in Fallout 4, with some noting it was the most pre-ordered game this year," Bethesda added, noting that the Pip-Boy Edition became the fastest-selling collector's edition for any game in history "at leading retailers."
"Following the release, Bethesda was advised that launch day sales at some of the leading retail chains were the largest of any game released this year," the company explained. "Bethesda is now shipping more Fallout 4 units to retailers to meet ongoing market demand."
That's really cool. Not to mention it topped Steams list on day one, beating GTAV's record.
By comparison, the last game from Bethesda Game Studios,--2011's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim--shipped 7 million copies in 48 hours to retailers and sold through 3.5 million to consumers during that period. As of January 2014, the game had sold through to consumers 20 million copies worldwide.
When is someone supposed to attack my town?
Hey so I got Fallout 4 and I'm super excited. But whenever I launch the game, the main menu, things in the game that are slightly far away and even the steam overlay itself are slightly blurry, and the text looks weird.
I tried to take some screenshots, but for some reason they look normal as screenshots?

Mmm, that marketing worked wonders, and it went against pretty much all the norms of marketing other games use.
Jesus Bethesda.

Have you got to the finanacial district yet? Report back when you do because you will no longer be saying that it runs "no problem"
That area is a complete fucking mess of performance issues

If you have FXAA or TAA on turn them off in the launch menu.

Lexington too. Pretty much all of downtown and any urban-esque has framerate issues, presumably because of all the buildings being rendered.
Which is why I think bethesda separated DC in FO3, because it would run like ass if it all was in the same worldspace.

Do you use SweetFX or Reshade? Try turning off AA and see if that changes anything.
I see a few requests for ID's for items and NPCs for when the engine decides to swallow them hole.
There's a neat little trick that's been in the engine since Oblivion (I think):
Open the console and type: help "item" 0
The "item" can be a partial name.
This will give you a printout of every object, NPC, item, quest or perk with "item" in the name.
You can scroll through the output.
You can then do player.additem, player.addperk or any other command that requires that ID.

I came close to destroying my computer by accidentally attempting to spawn 238,000 10mm pistols.
Problem here is legendary versions of weapons/armour aren't their own items - rather, their bonuses eg explosive rounds, are modifiers on the base item

I recommend everyone tune in to the Silver Shroud radio at least once to witness Wes Johnson's most dramatic acting since Oblivion.
went against all norms of marketing such as

television ads during primetime and on large networks
sidebar ads on websites
full page ads on game news sites

fallout trademark socks, beer, toy pipboy, soda, and more
and much much more
where is this notion coming from that fallout 4 doesn't have marketing, i saw 3 fallout ads in the span of 1 ufc recording, that shit didn't come cheap i can bet you
Well for one they fucking didn't show anything or even confirm the game's existence until 6 months before the game came out.
And then they barely showed anything else.
But you're right. They totally did market it the same as everyone else.

It went against normal advertising strategies such as announcing your game the second you have a playable engine proof and crap and instead focused all their marketing costs into a compressed 4 months, meaning they could advertise it heavily during that time instead of spread over a year/a year and a half. It was honestly beneficial for them and I hope more devs do it, this way we avoid seeing CGI of what the game is SUPPOSED to be like instead of actual ingame trailers too
omg any screenshots?
No, attempting screenshot would've caused a detonation in my cpu
