has anyone found out what benefits come from making them non hostile, aside from generic traders? Only at this point im thinking their only value is the XP.

A flamethrower that freezes people... What is science?
is that just a random weapon or a mission reward?
I'm a bit new to the whole Fallout thing. I barely even played the 3rd one. So the 4th game takes place in the exact same time as the 3rd but it's in the viewpoint of a different protagonist that actually speaks for a change?
That fusion core perk is real good at level 3, really helps when taking out groups of enemies, only problem is that it takes a bit for it to shit out of your suit.

It's roughly 10 - 20 years after 3.
Tell me pls for christ's sake, are Settlers supposed to stand 24/7 on guard??
It depends what you assign them to do I guess.
Also for my problem I mentioned earlier, It seemed to have resolved itself. I tried using complete quest on the quest ID and it would give me the small amount of xp but the broken quest would still be in my log and tell me that I failed to defend Sanctuary once I got far away. I noticed that 4 people survived so I figured I'd cut my losses and just accept it aslong as the main, named characters were still alive. They were...but so was everyone else, the only thing that dissapeared was the huge pile of synth corpses that I piled up.
Then I noticed on the map the population went from 4 back up to 8, so I guess the quest had bugged out but fixed itself? Anyways, thankfully it means I can play on with Fallout 4!
Fun fact: [sp]Institute spoilers[/sp] [sp]You can tcl and kill the gorillas in the bioscience lab, and they'll actually attack you. Wasn't sure if the gorillas can be fought at all ever, but I thought this was neat.[/sp]

It's set 10 years after Fallout 3, and this is a bit of a plot point for some events in Fallout 4.
Can your settlements generate crafting / building materials? Not just money? Or is the only way to get them is by scrapping?

[sp]During a quest after you're appointed Director, some scientists while hole up in the bioscience lab and one of the ways you can resolve it is to release the gorillas. After that you'll have to go through the area though, and most likely fight them[/sp]
Went ninja all over spectacle island and secured the tool shop, nothing but pasted mirelurk bodies everywhere.
This island is like the ultimate fort location, shipping containers filled with scrap metal, and you can build absolutely anywhere in a pretty huge space.

I do. A lot. It's pretty annoying when you're trying to build.

So in your guy's opinion, does Fallout 4's story suck compared to New Vegas's story?
So in your guy's opinion, does Fallout 4's story suck compared to New Vegas's story?
You have to ask yourself what do you define as story. I haven't done a lot of the main quest but it felt okay so far, but I liked some of the side quests I did, one of them really stuck out to me, and the environmental story telling is Beth at their absolute best.
But that's what people don't get, Beth never ever focused on story, their games have been about your journey, your story, and your fun. So yes, it will likely be a crappier story in the end and that is just fine as New Vegas as a whole has its own flaws and story issues.
To put in short, world and environmental story telling and shit, felt better than Fallout 3 ever did and while I'd never say this is a masterpiece of writing, for Beth and for a game this huge, it feels pretty good.

I don't think anyone has brought it up yet, but your character looks exactly like the weapons trader in Bunker Hill.

I sent Piper away by accident and she disappeared. Can I get her back or am I screwed? I tried to use console commands to spawn her at my location but I couldn't talk to her.

Check your settlements. If she's not at any of those she might be back at the Publick Occurrences office.
Also, where do you get the hood that Danse is wearing? I'd also like to know where I can get my hands on the BoS officer's uniform as well.
Anyone?
I think I have a game breaking bug. Quinlan, Teagen, and some of the others will not speak to me. I need them for quests.
Anyone know a solution?
I dont know if it's just me but i love the entirety of the redesigned BoS aesthetic. Their uniforms and everything just look really good.
And the Power Armor, my god the Power Armor. It's the most practical depiction we've seen yet, it's the walking fortification that we've always been told it's supposed to be, and it's super balanced. Lots of shit you can't do in Power Armor that you can do normally, but also lots of things you can do. But there is a dollar sign attached to using PA, which i love.
All in all, Fallout 4 was worth the hype. Very pleased with it.
Do you need a perk for that?
It should just be under "Extra". Let me go ingame and double check rIGHTNOW

You can actually armour up your suits, so you can be both practical and stylish!
