I built a thing. Codsworth can navigate through it, and 5 NPC's sleep in it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/NoFWIkn.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/GOxUOze.jpg[/t] That guard is still 24/7 on duty tho, doesn't even sleep, why :vs:
It's just Combat Armor with Raider Leather underneath.
really? why are the shoulders so different compared to http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_armor_(Fallout_4)?file=FO4_Combat_Armor_Loading_Screen.jpg
I don't know if anyone's pointed it out yet, but at least when you're skipping dialogue you've heard before, your character will sometimes say a quip. What's weirder is that it seems your character's inner thoughts depend on which key you use to skip dialogue. For example, pressing 3 to skip dialogue has your character say more negative stuff, such as "yeah, yeah, yeah..." or "shuuuut up," while using mouse one gives you more neutral things like "mhm" or "ok." I say its more of your character's thoughts since the person you're speaking to doesn't acknowledge it.
so I think I fucked up and did stuff in the wrong order cos I just got near the end of the Minuteman questline and lost all my ammo [sp]fighting the mirelurk queen[/sp] now I got like 60 rounds of ammo and no caps cos all my money goes to stims... haven't even visited Diamond City yet :v: [editline]14th November 2015[/editline] also I get why people would get annoyed by him but I [b]LOVE[/sp] the announcer of Diamond City Radio, I remember my first couple weeks on air and I can kinda relate to the guy
http://www.fallout4map.com/
I've been using this funny enough. I just wish it was a bit more specific in terms of what power armor is at which location unless it is random.
I'm very conflicted story wise [sp]I just beat Bunker Hill. I'm not entirely sure who to side with still. The institute doesn't seem like they have humanities best interests. The Wasteland isn't all that bad of a place. I'd honestly prefer it in the Brotherhoods hands over the institute at this point. I feel like I'm not helping at all by killing humans instead of the Synths. What good is killing off the human race in this war. I'm really considering fucking over my son, he seems to have been brainwashed into someone I cannot stand to live with. I might have to change my allegiance to the Brotherhood[/sp]
Mid-late game spoilers (I think), I have a question about K[sp]ellog[/sp]g - try not to answer with too spoiler-y answers please[sp]I have just got into the institute and met my son, I understand that I was put back under cryo for a lot longer than expected, which means my son is 60. I also understand that Kellogg was genetically enhanced to live longer than a normal human, but I don't understand how earlier on in the game people were talking about seeing Kellogg in his house in Diamond City with a young boy? If people had seen him, then it must've been 50+ years ago yet all mentions of it were as if it was a recent thing?[/sp] Is that a plot hole, am I going crazy or is this explained at some point? If it is explained don't tell me how
I've been using this funny enough. I just wish it was a bit more specific in terms of what power armor is at which location unless it is random.
it's semi-random. it's level dependent.
I like that they're trying to tell a story about a man and his struggle in the wastes but imho I don't really feel a connection to the thing that popped out of a woman that literally is in the game for like 5 minutes just because my character jizzed in her and watched her get shot (Not really a spoiler, it happens in under the first 10 minutes of the story. You have 0 chance to grow any emotional attachment) I really understand where they're coming from and I like that they're trying to tell a story, and hell, I've been enjoying everything about the plot so far about this man who is me... but... isn't me? but who gives a fuck about Shaun or Nora. [sp]just because he has my characters ginger hair means nothing to me[/sp] the story would be way better if you actually interacted with your 'family'
How do I assign NPC to stations?

Imagine what super mutant power armor would be like
If anyone on PC gets stuck on Boston After Dark at [sp]Secure the rendezvous point[/sp] use "player.setstage RRM01 400" and it'll advance to the next objective. I got stuck there for a while and it seems that a lot of other people have too. [sp]Every video I've seen shows multiple raiders at the church but there was only one for me, maybe the game bugged out and didn't spawn enough or something? No idea.[/sp] Also does anyone know if there's a bigger version of this anywhere? It's in the strategy guide but I can't find it anywhere, just the one with her sitting. I'm pretty happy with how my settlement is turning out. I have my room in the actual building, along with my workshop. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/650003524243000256/1F2DFC5C88521AAFDF3B5419FCDDF023296B5CA8/[/t] I wish you could set areas as restricted for settles though. I always fast travel in and find settlers in my workshop fiddling with a workbench or my power armour.

I'd would pay money to see a Frank Horrigan expy in DLC.
It's nice that NPCs actually acknowledge your follower a lot more than in previous games For example, [sp]When I was entering Vault 81, the security guy asked the overseer about Dogmeat. Nothing huge but still nice that they actually bothered to add stuff like that in[/sp]
Let me share a little story with you, fellow wasteland wanderers - Something that made Fallout 4 game of the year for me. Some Railroad spoilers follow, and also the details of an unmarked quest in University Point that required a little sleuthing to follow. [sp]So I visited Railroad HQ to see if they had anything new for me, and I got a mission from Carrington to check on a safehouse that may be under Institute threat. I went to a dead drop to pick up their report, and found that they were panicky because there were many synths 'camped out' pretty close by, at University Point. So I went in and dispatched the Synths in good style. They never saw or heard me coming. The Railroad mission was a cakewalk, but then I found something neat: One of the most fun unmarked quests I ever followed. there was a makeshift computer terminal that looked like it had been cobbled together - Not one of the distinctive pre-war ones, a pretty rare sight. I checked it out. It apparently belonged to a young woman who had been living at University Point with a small community of settlers, about a year prior. University point had a semi-flooded basement area with a Mirelurk population, that the girl's father often hunted to cull their populations and get food. As it turned out, the basement also had a few old computer terminals that the girl thought she could salvage a new hard drive from, so she persuaded her father to let her accompany him on one of his many trips. She did find an intact, dry hard drive she could use, but thought to check it before she reformatted it, and found an interesting piece of information. Something related to reactor efficiency and capacity. However, the rest of the data was corrupted, and she couldn't retrieve it. She tried selling it to a trader at one point, hoping it would fetch a decent price, but couldn't. What followed, according to her logs, was that a man suddenly showed up at the settlement, claiming to represent the Institute, and demanded the data be handed over. She insisted the data was corrupted and she had nothing to give them, but the man did not believe her, and threatened the mayor of their settlement. The other settlers caught wind of her find and began to threaten violence to her and her father, for having drawn the Institute's attention and put them in danger. She left a holotape at the terminal - An apology to her father for the trouble she had caused, and a promise to return to the flooded basement to try and find the data the Institute wanted. The fact that the settlement was a ghost town and crawling with Synths told me that she had been too late. Intrigued by all this, and desirous of finding this prototype technology that the Institute had so coveted, I picked the lock on the door and entered the basement. I carefully dealt with the Mirelurks and their eggs, and found a number of old terminals - A set of pre-war e-mail transcripts belonging to a brilliant scientist who had a tenure as a professor there, and the Dean of the university. It was slow reading, but I managed to piece together that the US. Military had granted the scientist, a certain Campbell, a contract in recognition of his fusion reactor research - Research that the Dean of the university, a jealous, spiteful man, had done everything in his power to discover the nature of, from calling the General who granted the contract (And being told he didn't have the clearance) to having Campbell tailed by his secretary to figure out where his lab was located, and what he was working on. He figured at last that Campbell and a female student were spending an inordinate amount of time in - of all places - The vault containing safety deposit boxes in the Student Credit Union. The dean intended to use this information - as well as the fact that Campbell had been heard inquiring after this student's birthday - as leverage to blackmail the man. Another e-mail on a separate terminal complained of loud noises of construction in the Credit Union basement, conducted by the U.S. Army. This had to be the location of this hidden lab. There was only one thing that didn't fit - Why did Campbell want to know this female student's birthday? I found the registration office after some searching, and managed to find an intact computer. Most of the data was corrupted, but I managed to pull up a directory of graduate-level students - And found her name and date of birth. I got a little pop-up message saying "Campbell's safe password acquired". I stopped to loot the last of the Synths in the building, and went across the street to the second University building - With the door to the Student Credit Union. Through some difficult hacking and lockpicking, I gained access at last to the vault, and found Campbell's safe. When I opened it, I found that it was empty - save for a small red button. When I pressed this, a wall slid open at the end of the vault, revealing a laboratory. A lab terminal told me, amidst a lot of technical terminology, that Campbell had never made it inside when the bombs fell, but his student (Who was, in fact, a covert military scientist) had. She had stayed for weeks to finish his work - and determined to leave at last when the food and water ran out, to try and find her family. On the table was an automatic laser pistol, her completed prototype - With an infinite ammo capacity, meaning I never had to reload.[/sp] The reward may not have been particularly amazing, but that was hands-down the most satisfying, immersive unmarked quest I've ever done.
I see Red Rocket is a popular settlement location :v: I just decided to finally make a proper settlement and chose there as well. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Pw9oNdZ.jpg[/t] Under the roof [t]http://i.imgur.com/h7pswr9.jpg[/t] And on the roof [t]http://i.imgur.com/sCPxzHW.jpg[/t]

He tries to start conversations with other Mr. Handy's and Protectrons. Also, here's my guy. He kind of looks like Lee Everett, although that was unintentional. Can RNG fuck you and you'll possibly never get some pieces of power armor? I'm just missing an arm and a leg for the X-01 set, really hoping they're out there somewhere. Also apparently there's a third power armor in Quincy ruins, I killed two PA'd Gunners there and apparently there's one near the church. All I can find is the PA station inside the church.
How do I assign NPC to stations?
Workshop mode > Press E on Settler > Press E on what you want to assign them to.

[/sp]
[Sp] Wasn't that the point though? To make a synthetic so life like that it was indistinguishable from the real one? Plus he was infused with Synth tech and we all know synth's memories are wiped, so they can't remember certain things. I wouldn't be surprised if he got memories wiped. [/sp] [sp] The thing about the Institute is that they really could do a 180 and help the Wasteland if they really wanted to. They really could help the Wasteland or everyone, if they had a leadership that was willing to start helping. I think the brotherhood is kinda equal with the Institute, they both do incredibly selfish things in the name of something. [/sp]
Does [sp]joining the Minutemen prevent joining other factions in the future? If one can change faction, how does that affect settlements already controlled?[/sp]
Does anyone have any idea how to get there(the first floor of arcjet systems)? [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/404557344548936369/BC23352EC69467051BD32EB5E9EB4FE9999FB6F8/[/t] Ive walked everywhere on the 2nd floor and still have no idea expect for that elevator behind the building, i dont know how to power it either.
It should be the set of stairs (or collapsed ramp, can't remember) furthest down the left when you exit the CEO's office.
I'll just explain why I think one ending is better than the other here: [sp]If you get the institute ending, you actually get your son. The synth is reprogrammed to fully believe you are it's dad and you can interact with him in ways you would be able to do with your actual son, and that just gives me some much needed closure. The Institute going away from their "Synths should not be loved" ideal to make you happy in this way was really charming too, considering you actually lost your son[/sp]
