I just did the like weirdest quest.
I found this kid who's been stuck in a fridge for like 200 years.
Then I had to find his parents who I thought were dead.
THEN I had to fight off this guy who wanted to buy him from me.
2-3 pages late but i found the guy and got attacked by a mirelurk king
This took me so much time to make, gather resources and such.

What settlement is that?
How much does clothing affect stealth?
Because even if I keep to the shadows and crouch walk I still get spotted really easily
I dunno if I'm late.
found this in a Hollowed-out-rock

Nice reference to Fallout 3's Hollowed-out rock.
Found it at the [sp]Witchcraft Museum[/sp].
Also comes with a Sniper Rifle, just like in Fallout 3.
Really impressed at how much detail this game has.
So weirdly if a mine blows up and I reload a quicksave, it's no longer there sometimes. Does this happen to anyone else?
does it interfere with quest if i clear buildings to get the special bobbleheads?
snuck up on a raider that wielded power armor and fat man and stole his fusion core. i could take the power armor but it was marked as stolen, guess this is a bug?
Really liking all the building shit, super fun.
Well yeah, if you get them functional so that NPC's can navigate them, and if you don't get NPC's stuck in corners/walls, etc. :v:
How come my settlements never seem to get attacked even if most of them have low defence? Seems to be a waste of time and resources to even bother building turrets
What settlement is that?
Taffington Boathouse.
How come my settlements never seem to get attacked even if most of them have low defence? Seems to be a waste of time and resources to even bother building turrets
Yeah, I want a mod that increases raider attacks. I have a bunch of stolen power armour I want my guards to use...
The only thing I truly dislike so far is that there are all these nice looking clothes like suits and trenchcoats but I can't wear them unless I want to run around with almost no defense because there's no way to add armour to half of them or even upgrade them.
Is there a way to do this later on?
Not sure why this matters to you? Wear whatever the fuck you want.
ALso, for example, sometimes there are these cloths that allow leg-pieces to be worn on top of them. (Whereas some clothes prevent anything from being worn on top of it.)
Like this "Winter jacket + jeans" it allows you to wear Leather Leg guards, but no arm guards or chest piece.
Plus, afaik you CAN customize/modify these normal clothes too, like an armored business man suits, maybe.
I had the same issue although without the dusty effect, just type FoV 80 into the console and it should be back to normal.
You are a goddamn life saver. Thank you kindly.

THE RAD CATS ARE THE BEST FACTION IN THE GAME
I just did the like weirdest quest.

I just started this because I found him on my way to the Rad Cats, now I'm stuck with the child because the first path I tried to the checkpoint spawns a mirelurk king and a skull-level hunter, and the other path I tried goes straight through a major gunner base, with a nade-flinging power-armored gunner and her friend who's sitting on the highway shelling me with a fatman. He has power armor too.
Kinda wish you didn't spoil the end of the quest like that but it's really minor. Just like how I found a pre-war friend in the Goodneighbor hotel!
I'm more attached to building settlements and modding weapons than I thought I'd be.

Does shooting at a Power Armor's fusion core deplete it and force the driver out, or does it just kill them
snuck up on a raider that wielded power armor and fat man and stole his fusion core. i could take the power armor but it was marked as stolen, guess this is a bug?
No, everyone is really mad you're stealing from the poor, innocent raiders. and if you donate some of your parts to the armor, they get angry when you take them back! Such an awful thing to do.

I think in order to modify normal clothes like that you need to suck up to tinker Tom alot, cause I haven't been able to get (then again I'm ignoring the main plot ATM :v:)
Can you build mannequins to display outfits?
The whole clothing thing could be fixed by the ability to bind entire sets of clothes to a single favorite slot. Then you could have Casual/High Charisma/Combat/Radiation without faffing about.
The modular armor system is lifted straight off Skyrim, but it worked better there because you hardly ever needed clothes with qualities other than defense. You didn't look out of place meeting someone in a town while still wearing armor.
Easter egg spoilers -
[sp]ALIEN SPOILERS: Holy shit, did that alien ship falling from the sky scare anyone else? The blaster itself is fucking great though, shame that there isn't any more ammo to find for it.[/sp]
[sp]It happened to me during an attack on Sanctuary from Super Mutants and I saw the huge smoke trial in the sky and the explosion and assumed that they had a fatman or something[/sp]
So I just killed everyone in [sp]covenant[/sp]
can now use it as a settlement, neat, barely have to do anything lol
these infinite quests are not cool. I'm not sure if I'm doing infinite quests or if I'm just doing neccesary, but similar quests to progress in the main story for a faction

you can mod the [sp]alien blaster[/sp] to take fusion cells instead for like 1-2 less damage. It's amazing

it's not that good, everything is marked as stolen and multiple objects can't be deleted
also everytime i fast travel there 2 raiders spawn just outside. there's a huge pile of bodies
The dialogue system isn't that bad if you can get past only 4 choices. So far it seems the Protag says only one line when you click on an option, basically like Fallout 3, it's just he says the line and you have to guess what the fuck he's going to say from the short descriptions.
Hope Fallout 5 has a little more voice variety, dislike having a big ass biker dude with a voice like that.

I imagine one thing they would touch on is the dialogue in the post-launch game considering it's one of peoples biggest problems with the game. that reminds me, pretty interesting to see what they might do with DLC
Can't really play the game anymore. I'm getting the CTD on cell load thing again. If this is going to be regular I'm just going to have to wait for a patch or a better computer.

I use "" to name weapons, so they stick to the top of list. You should too.
I got a "Purifier" (long barreled shotgun) and "Big Gun" (just a 10mm modified to be as large as possible) :v:
I also made "A Horrible Thing" which is a short, sawed-off bolt-action hunting rifle with a large-ish magazine. Technically it's absolutely horrible and would get you killed in a real fire fight immediately, but it looks funny.

can't you also just use a space at the beginning?
personally I just name it and it goes in the list where it goes, it's not like I carry around guns I don't use especially when my weight limit is only 250
then again I also renamed my long hardened incendiary combat shotgun to "Combat Shotgun" and the most unique name was my 3 crank laser musket to be the "Triple Threat Musket"
Yep, space also works. Anything works pretty much.
And indeed, guns are probably the heaviest things in the game in general. But you also get good scrapping material out of 'em. When you get Scrapper rank 2, you will probably start receiving Nuclear Materials even, when scrapping random Raider-or-other gear with glowing sights, not to mention circuitry and shit from energy weapons.
