Enemies with grenades are pissing me off, there's been like half a dozen times now where they manage to time it perfectly so it goes off right as it gets to me, so I get the grenade icon for half a second and die.
Settlers without jobs scavenge as well, but assigning them to a scavenging station increases what they bring back. You want free settlers anyway so your shops can make money.
Interesting.
So what, if you don't have any unemployed settlers, then shops don't make any money..? Surely you're not saying that?
Interesting.
So what, if you don't have any unemployed settlers, then shops don't make any money..? Surely you're not saying that?
I mean, I'm not 100% sure. It seems like if all my people are assigned my shops make fuck-all compared to if I have people just wandering around. I've also read that you need unassigned settlers to make money as well.
I found out you avoid radiation storms entirely by just taking a nap in the interval between radiation damages(if you find a bed anyway).
I guess the storm sees you're tired and leaves you alone.

Reminds me of STALKER Clear Sky :v: They'll throw grenades and have them land right between your goddamn feet.

Bitch you what?
Seriously, Spectacle Island is amazing. It is absolutely enormous for building. And there are so many different little areas. You've got the run down island house in one corner, lots of open beach, a short cliff face, a run-aground barge loaded down with containers, several small shipwrecks, a marshland, and the hilly and wooded main body of the island itself and even the open water. There is just so much potential in it for making an awesome settlement that I literally can't think of where to begin. I'm seriously considering moving my entire operation out of Sanctuary and to Spectacle Island.

Though I wish you could use at least certain weapons underwater. I do not like playing unarmed Big-Daddy in those waters.

Alright alright.. kind of makes sense.
So, basically, you need 4 settlers to feed 20/All of them because 1 settler will take care of 6 food production, so that leaves 16 settlers.
Then you need 5 settlers to man the stores, that leaves 11 settlers.
Then you need 1 settler for the supply line, leaving 10.. And that's it?
Leaving 10 settlers just wandering around the place unemployed, making purchases..
(Now if you were to assign those 10 people to scavenging stations, they would be wandering around with guns too, but may not generate any income to shops, who knows?)
i've realized i literally never used the console commands since i've started playing this game
in fact, i've never opened the console at all
because it's broken on AZERTY keyboards
thanks bethesda
Ehh, if you really need some ammo or fusion cores, why not just use console? (to all people)
?
"If you really can't beat this boss, just put god mode on!"
If I'm gonna cheat I'll just rob merchants of all their caps and merchandise
Couple of questions:
1) How do i attract more settlers to Sanctuary? Town's stuck at 10 settlers / 80 happiness with the following stats:
25 Food
50+Water
16 Power
50+ Defense (all heavy machinegun turrets)
20 Beds
1 Tier 3 Weapons Shop (assigned)
2 Recruitment Radio Beacons (powered and switched on)
What resource am i missing to bring in more people, or is my game somehow glitched?
2) Where do i go to collect surplus purified water / profits from trader shops? Already checked at the workshop / transfer option, no caps or water.

Yep, pretty much. That or they throw a molotov and hit the ceiling.
2) Where do i go to collect surplus purified water / profits from trader shops? Already checked at the workshop / transfer option, no caps or water.
Purified water comes from water purification plants, and should appear in the Workshop container, under "MISC"
As for when do you get more settlers, try going about in the wasteland, travel to some place, kill some mutant dogs and come back, and I'm sure you'll have a few more settlers by then.
(You shouldn't need more than one recruitment radio either.)
BTW, you get 1 cloth for pre-war money, but it actually has DECENT value, so I recommend picking it out of your junk (it weighs 0 too) and sell it instead. Cloth is easy to attain otherwise and in general not worth 8 per unit. I just sold all the ones I've got (877) and made a few thousand caps.
I've got 2 Charisma and no Barter perks yet I made 3 caps per for a total of ~2800 caps. Could save it up until I've picked up more Junktown Jerkey Vendor things though

apart from the lowest tier chest piece, synth armour all looks like it's just made of PVC to me

By the way is there an option to repair turrets manually? Build menu only lets me move or scrap, don't see any repair tab. Right now i use VATS to check their health, if it's below 50% scrap + rebuild. There's a repair option for PA but not turrets......
Since there seems to be no way to obtain one of these aside from taking it away from Paladin Danse, can someone please help me find the item ID of the "BOS Hood"? It's the spaceman-like hood that Danse wears instead of a helmet.

You can repair them if they're destroyed

Is there btw some point in game where settlements start to get attacked? Do you know?
Some quest or other point in the game where once you do it, settlements will start to get attacked? (Regardless of the number of water+food vs. defense)

I get random mobs attacking Sancuary while I there. Otherwise I think they only get attacked if their defence is less than food and water combined.

E1A39. If you type help "Item Name" 0 into the console it'll give you the ID.
I may have gone a little bit overboard.

Beat the game:
[sp]I ultimately did Brotherhood. I didn't feel bad slaughtering the synths in the end as opposed to killing a bunch of fellow human beings. I don't know why anyone would side with the Institute, being with your son aside. He's delusional. [/sp]

That actually makes some sense. Who wants to attack the little settlement covered in sentry cannons and dudes in power armor?
