Got my first crash out of nowhere. Was trying to use vats outside on an enemy and when I pressed q the game just instantly closed itself.
Can you disable your integrated card from the BIOS maybe? Honestly I'm not sure what else to do sorry. Have you tried the read-only trick on those ini files you're modifying? Maybe someone here could copy and paste what their device is setup as in the config file? I'd do it myself but i'm still at work :(
I don't see the option to disable it in the BIOS.
I'm honestly at a loss. I've read on multiple forums about people with the same issue as me, and everyone just keeps saying to set the preferred card in Nvidia control panel. Obviously, it doesn't work.
I freaked out after I [sp]rode up the elevator of the fort after dealing with Kellogg[/sp]. Literally chills up my spine the way [sp]the Prydwen entered the wasteland with the Fallout theme and vertiberds and the BoS using the intercom. Such an entrance.[/sp]
Do I have to give settlers guns/ammo & armour if I set them to be guards?
just go in the falloutprefs.ini file and change the height and width there
you have to redo it if you open the settings, but otherwise it works fine
It reduces fps to 30 too what the hell.

Guess I start playing tomorrow. I was excited all day at uni. Scouse mail man is probably playing it
Holy SHIT a giant green mirklurk or whatever charged out of the waters and scared the fucking shit out of me. I ran into a raider's camp and the big green motherfucker wiped them all out then me without losing half it's HP!
This game owns.

The mirelurk's new look is fucking amazing
They don't look as silly as they did in fo3 now, they actually look horrifying.

I've decided to cave in and watch a let's play.
The video doesn't have a spoiler-ific thumbnail so it's cool to post this. Plus it's the best Let's Player I can think of who isn't annoying to listen to. Plus it has Ross!
It reduces fps to 30 too what the hell.
Nevermind I used this method
https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3s93p4/low_fps_on_good_hardware_try_these_two_fixes/ (use the top comment one too)
and now it works fine at 60 fps!

This big green fuck is chasing me down tunnels! Help! Can't lose this motherfucker no matter what I do.
edit: Came off for now after a long ass session, god damn this game is so much fun, it's way more challenging than any previous beth game.
I had my first encounter with feral ghouls and they're fucking terrifying now holy shit.
A little late but I found the answer:
Pretty useful IMO.
Assign a settler to what, exactly
anyone know how to use console commands in this game
Assign a settler to what, exactly
Theres a seperate button when you have the perk.
Go into workshop mode, then press R1 on PS4 (Think its Q on PC) then select your other place.

What do you mean "select your other place"
Is there an easy way to salvage junk? I couldn't find it.
I just went to my settlement and threw all my shit on the ground and spam salvaged them
I feel like that's not how you do it
So after a new, fresh, clean install i can confirm that the only file you need to edit in order to modify you FOV is Fallout4.ini in Documents/My Games/Fallout4.
So you just need to add
fDefaultWorldFOV=XX
fDefault1stPersonFOV=XX
Under [Display] in Fallout4.ini and you're good to go. No "edit these bazillion files" shit. If you launch the game for the first time just play a little bit (like go trough the character creation) before editing them.
How do you get more settlers? I'm stuck with 5.
There's a recruitment beacon under power > miscellaneous.
Not sure where to find crystals though.

Put all your stuff in the workshop bench by pressing the button it says (T on PC)

Anything you want...
find someone not doing anything and look for the ”assign” command, hit it, then look for the things you want to assign them too and hit the prompt. It takes a few seconds, but you will receive a confirmation.

You need to be looking at one of your settlers.

I will verify this when I get home and modify my guide accordingly. Thank you for testing this and posting back.
I've just finished hands down the best quest so far.

And look at the amazing view I got.

Be sure to put big values (like 140) to see the effect immediately. I'm sure some users are getting tricked into thinking their FOV didn't change because of the low values they set in first person.
fug
i got fov change working, lost 3 hours of today, forgot to make dinner and eat
playing on low though, dat 60fps on 2500k + 770 :v:
anyone know how to fix textures not loading in properly yet
Wow I was starting to think I'm the only one with that kind of problem. Irritating as shit.
The amount of grenades enemies throw is driving me insane!
I'm constantly on fire and my limbs keep breaking, because literally everyone has like 5 grenades in their pockets.
Has anybody found some cool armour yet? I got all the metal pieces over the army fatigues until I find something better, I'd take a photo but I'm on sub-potato quality
