I've made a sort of dedicated hobby of collecting power armors, even created a dedicated building at the castle for storing them. So far I've got an entire wall done, pictured there is all the various shitty mixmatched suits that I have, a few missing pieces as well as my brotherhood T-60 and my fully upgraded X-01 suit
Hoping to fill up that second wall soon enough, and with completed, standardized, painted up suits :^)
Where do I get those clothes and what are they called?
What stops you from amassing 20 settlers, then scrapping/storing mostly everything away, replacing it with a miserable hut and sleeping bags, a drug store, with little to no defense, and with little to no food as long as it's more than defense, and there you have it.
A druggie settlement ready to get raped by a super mutant, and then you can even sell more drugs to their pain.
(You can also buy/sell stuff to and from your own town shops, right? Or is it even part of their inventory? Gonna have to do some experimenting..)

I think it's [sp]cereal brands[/sp] clothing
I want to protect my character's head, but this helmet makes him look silly.

Kinda wish there is a way to toggle head gear off. Dragon Age has that feature, so why not Fallout 4.
WoW had that too. Also for cape/cloak. You can't believe how cool Tauren Hunter I had..
I don't think it's needed tho, it's just one item slot. Maybe mods.
Look at this fucking jackass lording his waterfront property over everyone else.

One of my power armor's pieces came of after a missile hit me. :frown:
Are the destroyed pieces non-recoverable? I died shortly after so I never found out.

It's a visual effect. They get unequipped and can be repaired at a PA station later.
So I just met the BoS. (After playing 27 hours)
I don't really like their view on things, I was just let on the ship and promoted to Knight.
Can someone briefly tell me spoiling as little as possible what options I have regarding factions?
[sp]As far as I understand there is the BoS, Institute, Railroad (Haven't met them yet) and the Minutemen, I guess I like the minuteman most.[/sp]
I'm kinda sad that Centaurs have been replaced by Mutant Hounds. Imagine how terrifying they would've looked.
Anyone found more than one "X-cel" drug? Are they craftable somehow and I've just missed it? It's fucking amazing
I'd buy one of the actual like houses for your personal item vault.
Is there more than one house you can buy?

The conversion process has begun! Time to make my own PA-wearing army :^)
I'll probably have the other variants on the other side just for exhibit, once I get them.
so in the main story [sp]when i meet shaun/father, if i pop a few rounds in to him straight after declining him does that change things much? because i just popped him for kidnapping people[/sp]
can anybody tell me what the repercussions of this are at all? my hair-trigger reaction to [sp]shaun being responsible for the institute's actions[/sp] have landed him with a rather big laser rifle hole in his head
Can anyone confirm if attacks happening on settlements is only determined by Food+Water vs. Defense?
And not other resources, like Power Output or number of People?
Or rather, is there any good website/wiki type thing that compiles information regarding everything Fallout4?
Does enabling the console block achievements?I want to take screenshots without the HUD.
What's the difference between the combat rifle and assault rifle?
well I tried out this mod combined with these configs to try and get FPS boost. While it did seem to help a bit in open world areas, interiors still destroy my FPS for no reason whatsoever. oh well I guess I'll just play New Vegas instead now.

nope
What's the difference between the combat rifle and assault rifle?
the combat rifle is not actually a rifle, it's a pistol carbine

my lil dude so far, just FUCKED up a bunch of [sp]coursers[/sp] with the super sledge
bumped up to 1080p to take a screenshot but i was genuinely preferring how the game looked in 720p, maybe because popins etc weren't as obvious to me. i'd prefer to play in 1080p with view distances and shit higher but unfortunately my i5 3570k, 6950 2gb and 8gb vengeance are coming to the end of their relevancy :(

This happens to me too, I'm on a 750 ti OC, i3 and everywhere outside is 30-40 FPS smooth. but If I go inside some large building with intense lighting and particle effects, my frames drop to 20-25. I did some tests where I lowered EVERY setting to it's lowest and the problem still persisted.
I've already done some searching and there doesn't seem to be a solution yet, it might be just an optimization issue that requires a patch.

i don't know, what happened after you did it? sounds like you would miss out on the remaining 30-40% of the main quest (which is a lot of fun)
So, in terms of straight DPS minus perks, is the fully modded Combat Shotgun highest?
I turned on "Survival" and went Legendary Glowing Deathclaw hunting for uniques and the Combat Shotty + Jet turned out to be the only viable solution outside of sneak attacks.
What's the difference between the combat rifle and assault rifle?
Ammo type. Combat takes .45 and assault takes 5.56.
Speaking of assault rifles, where the hell did this thing go?

Now we've got some car exhaust monstrosity in its place.
the combat rifle is not actually a rifle, it's a pistol carbine
so what's the difference
This happens to me too, I'm on a 750 ti OC, i3 and everywhere outside is 30-40 FPS smooth. but If I go inside some large building with intense lighting and particle effects, my frames drop to 20-25. A'yup. In most places, I'm getting a constant 60 FPS w/ Ultra, but some parts of certain interiors, some corner or a wall I'm facing, causes FPS to drop to 35, but doesn't go below that as hard as I try.
And even if I put everything to low (I haven't), I'm sure the same few places would still drop the FPS because, well, lazy optimization by the devs probably.
so what's the difference
Assault rifles are technically ones that fire intermediate rifle rounds. As the combat rifle does not fire rifle rounds (.45 is a pistol round), it is not an assault rifle.
This is the same sort of semantics between a battle rifle (full sized rifle round) and an assault rifle. Something that fires 7.62mm NATO like the SCAR-H is not an assault rifle.

I mean is there any difference in performance besides ammo type?

It's gone sadly. But a combat rifle with an automatic receiver looks less goofy than the actual assault rifle.
look at the numbers? by default the assault does a bit better damage and fire rate I think @altimor
